Chapter 41: Not a surprise
Jimin sat in the living room in silence, waiting for his wife to finish up her makeup so they could head off on their date. Jimin kept his fingers crossed while he thought of the many things he dreaded occuring. He hoped the restaurant Jungkook worked in was full for the night so they would have to avoid that restaurant... But, Yun-se was silent on where they were to go and this only kept the older on edge.
Yun-se soon walked out with her red handbag, matching heels and red short dress along with black leggings for the night. She looked beautiful, just before Jimin would admire that from her, tell her she was beautiful no matter what without hesitation... But now, Jimin would say it while he thought of Jungkook on his head everyday like always. The woman approached Jimin and smiled excitingly as Jimin looked up at his wife.
"Ah, don't tell me you're going like this! Can you wear a coat over that sweater? It looks too festive." Yun-se complained as Jimin looked down and chuckled.
"I'll wear a light brown coat over it, okay? How does that sound?"
"Better. Go, hurry up I already made reservations!" Yun-se continues and Jimin of course, felt already anxious about where they were to go to. This almost made Jimin want to take long and ruin the reservation, but Yun-se was lurking by the doorway of the bedroom to make sure he doesn't waste time. Even if it seemed like a mean thing to do, watching Jungkook show up to watch them from a distance was enough to make him nervous.
Jungkook was many things to Jimin. The young boy was Jimin's true love, the one he kissed, touched and pleasured... But going on a date with Yun-se as Jungkook watched was as bad as being caught while cheating! Jimin wasn't loyal and he knew it. Jungkook knew it too, but brushed it off as Jimin finally finding love! Jungkook had his moments of jealousy so, Jimin didn't really know what would actually happen if the two were to actually meet after high school.
"Good! You're done! Let's go! Hurry we can't be one hour late!" Yun-se added in a rush as she grabbed Jimin's car keys and walked off. "You're driving and I'll tell you where."
"Oh, alright." Jimin replied. Trying not to sound as scared as he really was. Deep down, he knew there was a possibility of him ending up at Jungkook's job, so he tried to be mentally prepared for it. "...Restaurants are too overrated!"
"What? Oh shut up. You're insane, Jimin. A restaurant is very romantic and lovely at this type of night. I can assure you we will have such a great time together!" Yun-se assured and walked out of the house while Jimin followed. Feeling a bit nervous and tried his best to avoid limping infront of Yun-se. Yet, Yun-se was able to catch everything since Jimin walked before her. "Are you... Okay? Does your legs hurt?"
"I... um... Yesterday, I hit my knee against the wall when I was drunk... Yeah!" Jimin lied again as Yun-se only giggled and patted Jimin's head.
"But you look so nervous."
"Oh it's nothing. I guess I'm just really hungry." Jimin stretched his truth while the two got into the car. Jimin was so use to seeing Jungkook sit on the passenger's seat of the car, that as soon as Yun-se sat on the seat, Jimin felt a little upset. He only filled Jungkook in his mind to the point where he got too comfortable with the idea.
The man cleared his throat and fixed the golden ring over his ring finger and let out a sigh. "Tell me where should we go."
"I'm putting the address onto the GPS. Just follow it. Then you'll know." Yun-se advised and placed on her seatbelt while she set her phone on top of the dashboard to guide Jimin to the restaurant. Along the way, Jimin gazed at the familiar road and pushed up his glasses in worry. He knew this was as close to Jungkook's restaurant and couldn't help but to keep his eyes open wide while he prayed Yun-se would tell him to enter a better restaurant by the block. Yet, the GPS said otherwise.
Jimin noticed Jungkook's workplace from a distance and gazed back at Yun-se. "Here?"
"Yes!" Yun-se responded as she quickly switched off her phone so her Mother wouldn't find them. "This place."
"Oh perfect..." Jimin added with a soft yet, disappointed voice. He loved to come here with his wife... Yet, Jungkook was here and it would only make things a little awkward to have his own wife and his secret boyfriend see each other. Embarrassment filled Jimin's mind and he couldn't help but to feel stressed. "I... think we should go to a different place. I've never been here before. Let's go to the one we took a picture in. It'll be a great nostalgic moment!" Jimin smiled but Yun-se folded her arms and shook her head.
"No, we're already here." Yun-se said and pointed at a parking spot. "There."
"Okay..." Jimin obeyed and parked the car on a free spot. He watched how happy his wife got to finally get out of the house with her husband... Yet, she didn't know she would see the boy who Jimin dreaded for most of his high school years. Of course, Yun-se knew that the two were friends. But didn't know that the night prior to this one, Jimin ended up in bed with Jeon Jungkook.
Jimin let out a sharp exhale as Yun-se wrapped her arm around Jimin's left arm and looked at her husband happily. "Ah, look it's such a perfect night for this! See? Isn't this perfect?" Yun-se giggled while she walked with Jimin into the restaurant. "We should do this every month! Hang out more and get use to this... This is our life from now on."
"Yeah.." Jimin replied and tried to hold a smile but, as soon as he looked up, he could see Jungkook far around the back of the room, holding a tray of food to serve the customers. Jungkook was a waiter and this instantly made Jimin stop walking before they stepped up to the hostess.
"Jimin? Are you okay?" Yun-se asked as she looked ahead to see Jungkook holding a big smile as he bowed to elders by the table. The service there was almost full but they managed to keep seats for only the reserved customers. "Jungkook... Woah.. I haven't seen him in so long! He's gotten really big." Yun-se claimed and Jimin suddenly start to stutter.
"B-Big?" Jimin asked as he interpreted it as a dirty comment. "Tall."
"Fine, Tall." Yun-se claimed as she stepped forward to the hostess and gave a smile before mentioning the reservation. Just then, Jimin suddenly noticed Jungkook was staring at him from across the room in silence. Holding the empty tray now. He looked heartbroken even if he knew Jimin was going on a date with Yun-se. Yet, he never expected Jimin to show up here.
Jimin nervously looked down and cleared his throat silently. Feeling a little set back that Jungkook was just staring at him. Then, the hostess guided Yun-se and her husband to a table, a bit far from where Jungkook was standing. But it didn't stop him from staring from afar.
"You never told me, Jungkook worked here!" Yun-se said with a smile as she sat across from Jimin. "You looked so nervous as soon as you looked his way. Do you love him more than me?~"
"O-Oh calm down, Yun-se... I just never expected to be here. It's enough I see him at the lab everyday." Jimin lied again and gave an angry face to show he wasn't that interested, but deep down... He always wondered where Jungkook lingered in the restaurant.
"I would tell you to talk to him... But this is about us tonight. Not him." Yun-se added while Jimin pushed up his glasses to see Jungkook walk into the kitchen so swiftly. He was so quick that in one second, he was bowing to elders, and by the next, he was through those kitchen doors as fast as a lightning bolt.
"He... Doesn't matter... Just us.." Jimin regretted saying such lovely words. He knew the real person he loved was here. But it wasn't Yun-se. Jimin couldn't imagine Yun-se talking to Jungkook... It was like being caught and tortured for it. Jimin had no choice but to endure the humility since Yun-se would barely go out and all he could ask for tonight was peace so he could think for a while.
"Ah, it feels good to hear at least something just like that. We.. Have to get use to this, you know I've been telling you for all these years. We have to get along." Yun-se claimed as Jimin looked up and folded his hands. "First year wasn't that good but this year.. It feels better now."
"It's tough, three years in and it's rare to go on these. Your Mother then forces us about having children and that is too much pressure." Jimin continued and tried to get his mind off of things.
"A child... You know it feels too soon for that. We both aren't as steady as we may seem. But, if you want a child.. I don't mind at all." Yun-se claimed as Jimin slowly looked up at his wife and shook his head nervously.
"T-Too soon. We both are too busy to even stay in the same room together. Having a child will open doors to your Mother and I could already imagine her coming into a room and telling us we aren't good parents... Besides, thinking of having a child at the moment isn't a good idea."
"But soon, you would... Right? We are trying to make up from those times. We've never been a couple before and just became husband and wife. It's too fast but I'm glad we can slow things down a bit. We should try things like this out. Dates and other things too. That's why I give you space." Yun-se mentioned and tapped onto the table patiently. "I still feel bad our family met like that. Maybe if you had the chance to fall in love with me without the forced marriage part, we would be happy now and have a child."
"You don't think we are happy?" Jimin asked as Yun-se panicked and shook her head quickly, fading into a giggle.
"We are happy! That's what we are... Right?" Yun-se asked as Jimin gazed back at the kitchen doors. Not knowing if he had it in him to break her heart. Either way, if he was to keep going with this, he would hurt Jungkook even more.
Jimin bit his lip softly, feeling slightly complicated as he began to think in his head. "I could stretch the truth for a while longer... I'm just too scared to do this and if I was to do it now, Yun-se would cry and everyone will look at me! I can't tell her anything but just touch onto the subject of homosexuality." Jimin claimed and faked another smile, raising his left hand up to gently pat Yun-se's head gently. Not wanting to mess up her curls.
"Of course we are happy..." Jimin responded. Faking his smile and thinking of ways to bring such a conversation onto the table when suddenly... Someone approached their table and dropped two menus in front of the married couple. Yun-se looked up and smiled as Jimin slowly brought his hand back from Yun-se's head and looked up locking eyes with no one other than Jeon Jungkook, the manipulative and handsome devil himself.
