Chapter 16: Just us

There was only five slices of pizza left out of the twelve pieces from before and Jimin was done for the night, not wanting to take another bite and he could tell Jungkook felt the same way too. Jimin watched Jungkook close the box lid of the pizza as he drank out of his bottle of soda.

"We should get to the Park soon." Jungkook insisted as he stood up and stretched, looking back at Jimin. "What are we going to do with the rest?"

"You'll take it home." Jimin responded and threw away the used napkins and placed the clean napkins on top of the box while he held the soda in his hands that was half way finished. "I could use a walk. Let's go." Jimin said as Jungkook picked up the pizza box and offered to hold the two bottles of soda while he looked at Jimin.

"I'll carry it for you. Just go to the car and open it." Jungkook replied. He was happy to help the older and Jimin felt flattered. Even if it was a good thing to do, it looked perfect in Jimin's eyes.

The two made it to the car as Jungkook set the box of pizza to the back seat and looked at Jimin as soon as he turned around. Taking up every second he could get just to stare at the older mentor.  Jimin stared into Jungkook's eyes and raised a brow before laughing. "Why do you keep staring at me every second?"

"I was going to say something!" Jungkook added with a smile. "I was going to say that I hope you don't mind the smell of pizza in your car." Jungkook added as Jimin looked behind him and shrugged.

"Normally, I would get mad but I'm not. As long as you are taking it home, that'll be fine." Jimin claimed and faced forward, placing on his seat belt as Jungkook followed. Jimin then drove out of the parking lot and to a huge park where lights along the paths were still on.

Later on, the two finally parked in a slightly vacant parking lot where there was a few cars but not many. Jimin looked around and turned his head to Jungkook. It wasn't at all dark, there was lights everywhere to light up the way. Jungkook then took off his seat belt and looked at Jimin.

"This seems like something off a horror film. I wonder who's going to die tonight." Jungkook joked, making Jimin laugh and shake his head.

"Don't ruin this, Jungkook!" Jimin added as he took off his seat belt, removed the inserted key and got out of the car as Jungkook followed. Placing on his jacket while they still wore their attire.

Jungkook hid his hands in his pocket as he walked to Jimin's side of the car and they started walking together. Jungkook tried to move in close, but Jimin only kept his distance. Not wanting to move in close and Jungkook knew this was just a bit too over his boundaries to force himself closer to Jimin. Jimin knew the boy wanted to move in a bit closer, but he stepped away every time.

The sounds of crickets filled the night and Jungkook couldn't help but to turn and look at the man who walked by his side. Jungkook then chuckled as he looked at Jimin. "You look like a lost puppy just walking around and wondering which place to go next." Jungkook mentioned as Jimin looked at Jungkook.

"Ah, you always have something to say, don't you?" Jimin smiled as he looked at Jungkook again. "Jungkook... Let's talk about us." Jimin said as Jungkook's eyes widened that he had to stop and fix his glasses.

            "U-Us?"

Jimin stopped walking and looked at Jungkook, staring to give a cute giggle. "I should rephrase that." Jimin mentioned as Jungkook nodded quickly. "Let's talk about eachother. About our lives after high school or even during it." Jimin mentioned as Jungkook agreed.

"You go first then." Jungkook said as Jimin nodded, looking forward and beginning to walk as Jungkook followed behind.

"Well.. During highschool or after?" Jimin wondered as he looked back at the boy.

"Both. Start with high school." Jungkook answered. Hoping Jimin could hear and start off with something Jungkook knew about too.

"Well as you know, back in high school. I was still a nerd. Not surprising... I think you still remember how I looked back then. Blocky, rectangular glasses, always holding a book and holding my ballet uniform in my bag for afterschool. My glasses had tape on the center since you... Broke it in the restroom. But other than that, I didn't have much friends. You embarrassed me to the point where no one wanted to be friends with the 'ballet boy' 'Four eyes' 'Nerd' ah, but one day Yun-se became my friend and that was all that mattered. Yet I never loved her and she never loved me. She had her fair share of dating and I was just the friend. I never chose to be with anyone. Books were too main focus. And mostly because... How could anyone want me if I was an embarrassing fool in school? It was a nightmare." Jimin added with a slight chuckle. Feeling as if his pain before didn't seem to bother him now.

"You and Yun-se never dated?" Jungkook asked as Jimin nodded his head.

"We've never been in a relationship... It was just our families that set our future up and after graduation, I had to marry her. People with arranged marriages make it out together and love eachother. Some don't. I hope... I'm the one that still falls in love in the arranged marriage even after the drama. Even after the forceful deal... I hope we'll make it through." Jimin mentioned as he looked at his golden ring and then kept walking. "At times.. I think she fakes her love for me.. Or maybe she just tries too hard. But after you bullied me about being in ballet, I decided to find a different passion and that was for the whales... The dolphins.. The Axolotls... Orcas and even the bright colored corals. So I guess I should thank you. I don't know what would have happened if I sticked with dancing. Probably an unsuccessful Idol." Jimin laughed as Jungkook patted Jimin's back.

"Glad I was part of your life." Jungkook added as he looked at Jimin, realizing the man was done on thinking of what else to add onto it. Now that Jimin was done, Jungkook was up to talk now.

"Back in high school. I was pretty stressed from work, I didn't get such good grades... But I kept that to myself and everyone saw me as a smart guy. But they didn't know what low scores I would get. You, I was envious of how smart you were. I tried to talk to you, but I couldn't.. many people came to you to talk and communicate... I was left on the side, waiting for the long line to go down so I could talk to you. But I couldn't. Many people surrounded the smart boy." Jungkook said as he walked over to the bench where they had a good view of the moon.

"R-Really...?" Jimin asked as he sat next to the boy to listen.

"Yes. A nerd, but popular... But no one knew you were in ballet. So I grew... Jealous... And angry you never had free time for me to talk to you, and I noticed you weren't very tough. You were soft.. Very feminine. No offence." Jungkook chuckled as he layed back and looked at Jimin. "I bullied you to make you stronger in the mind and so you'll know how to fight back and talk back." Jungkook then stopped, sounding as if he had more to say.. But he just cut himself off after. "I then started to pursue Biology. After you graduated. I had to focus on my own things... I'm not going to lie, while you pursued Ballet. I went after dancing... But then you went on to study Biology... I felt like I should pursue the same. But I never knew you were on the same field I chose." Jungkook mentioned as Jimin looked at Jungkook.

"You were following me...?" Jimin asked with a sweet smile. "Look at you, you couldn't live without me as soon as I graduated. But.. I don't know why you seperated me from everyone... If all you did was tease me." Jimin claimed.

"Well, I just did it because.." Jungkook then stopped and ignored the assumption. Feeling like it wouldn't be any better to tell why. "Anyways... After I graduated, I moved on my own, got a job, went to college and became an intern here." Jungkook mentioned as Jimin knew the younger was just aching to change the conversation.

"You... Still didn't respond to why you chose to seperate me from everyone... I don't have many friends now because of the many friends I lost. You embarrassed me and even after everyone left, you still teased me and made me feel bad. I didn't feel strong at all." Jimin claimed as he looked into Jungkook's eyes. He felt as if everything went still and they just looked into each other's eyes for that solid moment. Just like the contact they would have before, the tension and the gaze still existed between them.

"What do you think was the reason why I did it...?" Jungkook asked in a whisper as soon as he felt Jimin moving in closer and looking at the boy. Jimin didn't know what he was doing, he didn't know how he felt so attached, but he caught the gist of what this all meant.

"Did you... like me?" Jimin asked as Jungkook nodded his head and looked down at Jimin's lips. Jimin acted so blindly and looked at Jungkook's cloud-like lips and for a moment... He wanted to feel something other than meeting lips with someone he was bound to. Almost like he wanted to take off the ring and risk a kiss. Just to have a good feeling within.

"Is there something wrong with that?" Jungkook asked in a low toned voice as he leaned in and rose his hand up to Jimin's shoulder while his other arm was placed along the back of the bench while his body faced Jimin. "Jimin... Have you ever had a kiss with someone you've loved? I can see it in your eyes...you haven't ever did it before."

             "J-Jungkook.. But I-I can't..."

"Yun-se isn't here... Mrs. Lee isn't here..." Jungkook stated and finally placed his hand over Jimin's cheek again to caress him softly. "It's just me here... No one else.."
