10 - Talking To The Moon
• Serenity HQ •
"This is too much for me to take." Seungkwan sniffled after he, Dino and Hoshi heard about Jeonghan's past from Joshua and Mingyu.
"It must have been so hard for them." Hoshi mumbled, "I can't even imagine losing any one of us but they literally went through it."
"Exactly, we should help them to get Jeonghan hyung back." Dino wiped his tears.
"Right." Seungkwan nodded, "They deserve to be together. Let's make it possible for them."
"I'm glad that you all are considerate over this." Mingyu chuckled proudly, "We should definitely join hands with them."
"Of course." Joshua added, "Even Jeonghan's happiness depends on it. We have to do this for him."
"And that bitch Park Jihye." Hoshi stood up, "How dare he harm Jeonghan hyung?"
"Calm down hyung." Dino patted his back, "We can't blame him before the reports come out."
"I don't know about the reports but I do believe that he's very much capable of doing it." Seungkwan scoffed.
"That's true." Joshua cleared his throat, "We'll go to Iksan tomorrow, to meet Jeonghan's family and probably bring them back."
"So in the meantime, collect the food samples starting from today." Mingyu remarked, "Hoshi hyung, send those samples to Dr. Min after two days. We'll give an excuse to hyung so that he'll let you take the samples."
"Yeah I'll make sure of that." Hoshi assured.
"But what are you going to tell Jeonghan hyung about your sudden trip?" Seungkwan asked.
"Disguise it as a business trip or something." Dino suggested.
"Yeah we've plan for it." Joshua nodded, "Don't worry."
"Iksan? Suddenly? Why?" Jeonghan asked as Joshua and Mingyu sat in his cabin against him.
Lying to him was one hell of a task.
"They are willing to show us some projects." Mingyu replied, "They've built excellent structures in Iksan."
"But we already know about their magnificent work." Jeonghan looked at the younger ones, "That's why I wanted to collaborate with them for this project. Plus we haven't even held a meeting yet. We aren't sure if we'll work together."
"That's the whole point." Joshua retorted, "The meeting is in a week and we'll use this Iksan exhibition in the meeting to display their work. I mean, if they're willing to showcase their creativity, why should we deny?"
"Makes sense." Jeonghan nodded, "Sure, go on. Only you two will go?"
"Yeah." Mingyu nodded, "Seungcheol hyung said that they all will go with us or more accurately, they will guide us."
"You've already dropped the formalities?" Jeonghan raised his eyebrows, "That's good though."
"Yeah we've talked to them a lot for the preparation of the meeting." Joshua explained, "They're nice people. I bet you'll drop the formalities too after the very first conversation."
"I hope so." Jeonghan chuckled.
"And yeah Jeonghan." Joshua called, "We've two more things to talk about. For two or three days, Hoshi will sample out a bite from whatever you eat. Dr. Min has asked to do so as he feels he needs to know about all the substances that go into your body in your daily life. So just let them okay?"
"That's funny but whatever, okay."
"And second." Mingyu began, "Seungcheol hyung wants to have a one-on-one conversation with you before we go to Iksan. You know, we were at their place when we got to know about you being in the hospital as so they came to know as well. I guess he wants to know about your well-being."
"Sure, you don't need to ask. They're our special guests." Jeonghan grinned, "I also wanted to know about Mr. Lee Seokmin's health. I'll meet him soon."
"No, he's already here." Joshua informed, "We'll ask him to see you on our way back to our respective cabins. Is it fine?"
"Yeah sure." Jeonghan simply nodded, "And ask someone to bring some snacks for the two of us."
"Okay." Mingyu complied as both of them stood up to leave, "Don't forget to keep a sample of whatever you eat or drink."
"Yeah."
The younger ones left the cabin after which Jeonghan focused on his work. And within a few minutes, another knock was heard.
Jeonghan looked at the screen to see who was there and as expected, the CEO of Rose Quartz was standing with a bouquet in his hands.
Instead of just calling him in, Jeonghan went on to open the door himself as a gesture of courtesy, "Welcome, Mr. Choi."
Seungcheol stood silent for a while. His love was still as gorgeous as ever. He could just stand there and admire him for the rest of his life. But he quickly cleared his throat, "Good morning, Mr. Yoon."
"Please come in." Jeonghan walked inside followed by Seungcheol.
The two CEO's took their seat after which Seungcheol handed him the flowers, "This is for you. Please take good care of your health."
"Of course, thank you." Jeonghan chuckled. He removed the previous flowers in his vase and kept the new ones, "How's Mr. Seokmin though?"
"He's alright, don't worry." Seungcheol retorted, "First of all, if it's comfortable, can we talk informally? I mean the rest of us are casual enough with each other so it would be wierd to exclude you."
"Yeah sure, can I call you by your first name because I think we're the same age?" Jeonghan asked.
"Yeah, of course. According to Joshua, you're just a few months younger than me so it doesn't matter." Seungcheol grinned, "We're going to Iksan with Joshua and Mingyu. We'll show them our best masterpieces."
"I trust you with your work already Mr. Ch- uh Seungcheol." Jeonghan scratched his forehead, "It will take some time for me to get casual. I hope it's okay."
"Of course!" Seungcheol nodded. It was when he noticed that Jeonghan was wearing the locket he had gifted him eight years ago on his birthday after which the younger had never removed it.
Jeonghan noticed the squinted eyebrows of the older, "Is something wrong?"
"Nothing, I found that locket familiar but it was a misunderstanding." Seungcheol explained, "Where did you buy that from? It looks beautiful."
Jeonghan fell silent. He didn't buy it. It was a gift but he didn't know from whom. He didn't know who was the reason behind that locket. He used to wear it because it was the only thing he had from his forgotten past.
"It's okay, you don't have to answer that." Seungcheol chuckled. He didn't want to stress the younger in any way, "Okay I'll take my leave. I just had to wish you a good health."
"How can you leave like that? Wait, I'll just order some coffee and snacks." Jeonghan protested.
"Thank you but keep it for later, we're leaving in an hour." Seungcheol stood up.
"Alright." Jeonghan stood up as well after which they shook hands, "It was nice to meet you."
"My pleasure." Seungcheol left the cabin with a heavy heart.
Woozi, Joshua and Mingyu were waiting for him outside the cabin. Seungcheol immediately cornered himself towards a window as he loosened his tie and took a deep breath.
"What happened Seungcheol?" Joshua asked.
"Hyung, are you okay?" Woozi caressed his shoulder.
"Probably?" Seungcheol chuckled dryly, "How am I supposed to be fine? The person who used to give me nicknames every week was hesitating to call me by my first name. This is how unfortunate I am."
The next moment he broke down, "He doesn't remember me. He doesn't remember my love. I- He was right in front of me but I was still missing him. I couldn't find the feelings in his eyes which used to be there six years ago. How will I do this? I can't, I just can't."
No matter how strong he was, it wasn't easy for him or anyone. They weren't weak or overreacting at all.
Just imagine, you constantly believed that your loved one isn't alive, for six whole years. Still, you treasured them as if they were a part of you. Then suddenly, they step into your life once again but they don't know you?
"Hyung!" Woozi embraced the older and caressed his back, "I know I can't provide you the warmth you're craving for but please calm down. I trust you, we all do."
"Why did this happen, Woozi?" Seungcheol muttered, "He was true to me, I was true to him. Our bond was pure and honest. Then why did it crumble down? Why did our small world shatter like this?"
"Seungcheol-" Joshua gulped the lump in his throat. The scene he was witnessing was truly heart breaking for him, "You're really very strong, you all are, I must admit that."
"And hyung, didn't you say that you want to cherish the present?" Woozi stated, "Let's not cry over the past now, we've been doing it for years."
"Let's go, we've to go to Jihyo first then we'll leave for Iksan." Mingyu stated.
"Where's Jun?" Seungcheol asked.
"He's waiting for you outside." Woozi informed, "I'm going back to the hotel. We will meet you at the airport directly. All the best."
Seungcheol nodded as everyone started off with their task. He, Jun, Joshua and Mingyu reached the JHSC medical center to meet Jihyo and seek her advice for their further plannings.
"We've an appointment with Dr. Park Jihyo." Joshua approached Jihyo's assistant.
"Oh yeah I know Mr. Hong. You can go in." The lady smiled as the four males walked into the cabin.
"Welcome Joshua, Mingyu and-" Jihyo looked at the two strangers but greeted them anyways who retorted the gesture.
"He's Choi Seungcheol and he's Wen Junhui." Mingyu introduced, "And guys, she's Jeonghan hyung's therapist, Park Jihyo."
"Please have a seat." Jihyo insisted as everyone settled down, "So what happened?"
"You'll be stunned to know but-" Joshua began, "We met seven of Jeonghan's closest friends from the past."
"What?!" Jihyo was astonished, "Are you serious?"
"Yes." Mingyu nodded, "Finally."
"Oh my-" Jihyo looked at the duo, "I'm so happy."
"They're two of them." Joshua referred to Seungcheol and Jun, "And he- uh-" He didn't know how to explain Seungcheol's bond with Jeonghan because they loved each other but they were never actually together.
"Seungcheol hyung and Jeonghan hyung were in love with each other." Mingyu intervened, "But they never got to confess- you know what happened."
"I understand." Jihyo nodded, "Can I get an idea about Jeonghan's past with you all?"
"Of course." Seungcheol chuckled after which he and Jun explained everything to Jihyo, briefly.
Jihyo drank some water as even she felt miserable after hearing all of it. She felt really bad for all of them because their pure and innocent bond didn't deserve that tragedy.
"So how do we proceed Miss Park?" Jun asked, "Can we just tell him everything at once?"
"That's very risky to be honest." Jihyo stated, "According to his current condition, he will never take all of this in a good way."
"Then? How do we make him recall everything?" Joshua asked.
"See, it might sound absurd but his past is itself the reason he can't recall anything." Jihyo explained, "In these years, I've realised that his heart knows everything. That's why he says that he was being loved a lot in his past and it's true. But the thing is, he keeps trying to recall it and then ends up in a miserable condition which ruins all the progress."
"So you mean, he can never-"
"No I'm not saying that he can never recall anything." Jihyo cleared, "He can but not forcefully. He needs to stop thinking about his past and move on. He needs to embrace his present first because his anxiety is a great hurdle in his recovery.
As his doctor, I'll suggest you to surround him with his present. Tell him and assure him that he can get over his past now. I wasn't recommending this answer before because we had no clue of his past but since we now know you all, it's easy.
Convince him to stay in the present and stop linking everything to his past. He needs to keep himself busy with the happiness he can achieve right now. And I'm sure that his past will come running back to him once he gains his self confidence completely."
"But what if he completely forgets his past because of this?" Seungcheol hesitantly asked.
"Then you need to choose between his health and his past." Jihyo stated, "I know it's not easy for you but why don't you become a crucial part of his present? Even if he doesn't recall anything, you all still hold a strong chance to get him in his present."
"How so?" Jun asked.
"Mark my words, he'll get attached to you very easily because as I said, his heart knows everything." Jihyo chuckled, "It's time for you as well as him to let go the past. Live your present, love him the way he is right now. The past will eventually be taken care of. But yeah, don't be disheartened if he decides to move on."
"Pardon?" Jun raised a brow.
"You might feel bad if he moves on because I know what kind of questions will surround you. How did he move on so easily? Even if there was someone else in our place, would he have forgotten us and moved ahead?" Jihyo explained, "But keep one fact in mind.
He can never gain the strength to move on without you guys."
A/n : Don't hate me, bye!
Take care everyone!
