Intro.

It all started in 1991, Vera Hill was a young girl placed into a new and unfamiliar living situation. The young girls dad had left her and her mother when she was just five and now her mother had passed away. Her mothers death hadn't come as much as a surprise, after her fathers vanishing act her mother had become cold and sad, choosing to drown her sorrows in alcohol and drugs. So when she had discovered her mother had overdosed it hadn't been a shock, that didn't make it hurt any less.

So here she was being placed to live with her grandfather, her mothers father, he hadn't been very involved in the girls life, not until now. All the memories she had of the older man were far and distant, back from the ages of three and four.

Although the girls life had been nothing but tradgedy up until this point her world gets slightly brighter when she meets her brooding and quiet neighbor Daryl who has a knack for hunting and mechanics. Along with getting to knowing her grandfather better and learning more about her families past.

The two teens begin to form a close bond but are soon faced with never ending obstacles from the universe trying to tear them apart.

However, many years later Vera and Daryl, who are now adults, cross paths once again, only now the world has gone under a change and become a fight of survival. The only difference is the two cannot so easily fall into a happy reunion, because one of them got hurt, and one of them left.

So one can only imagine how they will react when a man from Daryls group wanders into Vera's home with a shot boy in his arms.
