Chapter 7: Surprises and Explanations
TJ
Man, I thought that having to dealt with the Watchers is bad enough, but having a Leader who is obsessed to find an artifact like the Dragon Eye, is kind of a bad thing.
As I looked around, I noticed that Lighting must've sneak off without me noticing.
"Uh, Grandfather, Mother, I think Lighting had escaped." I said.
"He must be in the village center. The Villagers would be startled and scared to see Toothless isn't the only Night Fury species left."
I rolled my eyes, "Oh, that's great to know that there is another Dragon like Lighting that I would like to know since I been taken for sixteen years."
I run towards the main center of the village, and I saw my Dragon, but I also saw for the first time was my own father, riding his own Night Fury , along with my twin.
"Lighting! There you are!" I said, and the blue Night Fury spots me immediately as I scold him, "Lighting, when you learn to not sneak off? If we going to pull this rescue off, you have to listen to me."
He pins me down and licks me uncontrolled. "Lighting, come on! You know as well I do, that never washes out!"
Dad said, "Who are you, and why you have a Night Fury?"
I said, "I know who you are, Hiccup Haddock. And you know who I am by looking at me."
His eyes grew in surprise as he rushes towards me while my twin was completely confused of the whole situation.
"Daddy, what's going on?" Eli asks.
"It's a miracle." He said, tearing.
I said, "We have a lot to talk about. But you have to tell Eliana. She has to know."
"But, TJ, Son." He said, but the words spilled in front of Eliana.
"Eli-" Dad said, but she pushes him away, "You lied to me!"
She flew off in a speed of light, and I knew that things wouldn't be the same again.
Lighting nudges at me, wondering if we should go after her. I shook my head at the idea.
"Lighting, I think that Eli needs some time alone to steam off. If she doesn't come back home until late, then we'll go after her, deal?"
The blue Night Fury nods at the idea, but I can understand why he was so concerned. He just wants her to be happy, just like I was with him.
"Let's go inside my hut, Son." Dad said, suggesting since the villagers still seems to be unsure of who I was.
As I went inside the hut, I was impressed of the blueprints of my Father's inventions. Mother laughs as I continue look around the house.
"Tames, don't worry about it. You're not the first person to be amazed of how smart your father was." She said.
Hiccup
I still couldn't believe it. I knew that this day would come. That TJ would eventually find us and be home.
As he was looking around of the house he was supposed to be with, his expressions from feeling anxious and excited, his expressions were guilt and scared.
"TJ... what is it?" I asked.
He said, "It's Aligarh. She's the real reason I was kidnapped from Dragon Paradise."
I scratched my head in total confusion of what he meant by that but Astrid and Stoick had fear in their eyes as if they know what he meant by her name.
"Com'on, I'm lost in the dark here. Who's Aligarh, and what's this have to be with Tames?"
Tames looks at his mother and Grandfather.
"How do you think he'll take it?" Astrid asks.
"He has to know, Mom. Artemis, Mindy, and the Lost Children are all counting on me on their freedom. I can't let Aligarh hurt them more than ever and I can't just.."
"Tames, like I had told you, you're not alone in this. We can help them, all of them."
Tames sighs, "Aligarh is the leader of the Non-Dragon Riders. The ones who stolen me from you when I was a baby.
They were called the Watchers. They were ruthless and cruel people. They kidnapped children from other tribes from their villages and forced them to be their slaves.
I escaped from that horrible place. They also placed us in mines and we worked there for sixteen years. Lighting helped me escape, didn't you, bud?" Tames said, petting his blue Night Fury.
Lighting looks exactly like Toothless, except that his tail has a different design on his tailfin, and has blue skin.
"So... the Watchers did these to you and the Lost Children for sixteen years... and we couldn't find you. It's all my fault." I said, grasping the information lay on me.
"Dad, listen, it's not your fault. We were hidden from our families in an unknown isle. No Dragon Rider or Tribe would ever find the island." Tames said, trying to cheer me up, but he knew that it is so not possible.
I sat down as Toothless cuddles me in comfort.
"Can I have a moment alone with Dad? Besides I really want to know my Dad better." Tames suggested.
Stoick and Astrid left us. He sat next to me. "I know now why you kept me a secret from my sister. You don't want her to carry the burden that I was captured by the Watchers and keep her safe from harm."
I sigh, "Yeah. I felt more guilt now of not telling your twin about you when you were babes. On that night you were taken, it was the worst experience than being banished by your Grandfather sixteen years ago. I knew you would come back to us eventually, but we didn't know when it will happen..."
"Until now. I been wondering what my family looks like when I was with the Lost Children. Artemis and Mindy, my best friends, they're sisters, and I felt like they were my only family during those dark days. There is no way I'm loosing them. A promise is a promise."
I chuckled, "You sound like me when I was your age. Reckless and brave."
Tames looks at Toothless, "I think we can talk to Eli, together. We can fly our dragons and search the area. Lighting, what you think?"
Lighting and Toothless smiled at the idea as we climb into our dragons and fly to find Eli.
Eliana
As we flew, I couldn't hold in my anger.
"AHHH!" I screamed, as I raised my fists into the air.
"Sorry, Ani. It's just... I couldn't believe that after all of these years, my parents kept a secret, a secret I should've known for sixteen years, that I had a twin, a brother!
Why they didn't admit the truth sooner?"
As I was thinking, I hear someone calling me. I thought it was my father, but as I turned towards the sound, it was actually Heather, one of my father's allies.
"Eliana! What you doing way out here?" She asks me, curiously as she was riding with Windshear.
"Oh, hi, Heather. I came here to blow off steam, to get away from my parents."
"Uh, oh. Did something happened back home? If you don't want to talk about it, that's fine with me." She asks.
"No, it's ok, Heath. I guess that I need someone to talk to. I found out that Mom and Dad kept a secret that you'll never believe."
As it turns out, Heather wasn't too surprise at all. "Is this about your twin brother?"
I asked, "How did you-"
"It was hard, don't blame your parents. When your brother was taken, Hiccup couldn't sleep or visit my isle or Berk.
Loosing your brother darken him, Eli. I never seen him act like that before. He didn't know how to tell you until you are old enough to learn the truth."
I realized maybe if my brother needs help by coming to Dragon Paradise, I feared that something is wrong.
"Eli? What is it?" Heather asks. "TJ came here for a reason. I think we need to help him."
I ordered Ani to scout ahead and Heather pointed at a dark isle we never seen before.
"What in the name of Thor is that?" Heather asked me.
"I don't know, but I think we will find out soon." I said, putting my hood up so no one would recognize I'm the daughter of a Chief.
"Ready?" I ask Heather.
"As you are, Eli." She said.
