Her stepmother, obviously a cruel and heartless woman. She heard Wilora talking to her Ate Xandra a week before the big day. She never misses an opportunity to decry her. She would criticize her appearance, belittle her achievements, and make her feel like she was worthless. Maybe, one of the reason why Alexandra offer herself to that unhappy marriage is to save her face from their step mother. Like their father, Alexandra was the type of daughter who preferred to zip her mouth. She had no choice but to cry until her eyes dried out. Algeree had made an effort to confront her stepmother and get her to stop bugging her sister, but Wilora's remarks wounded deeply, making her feel unworthy and defeated.

“I don’t know what I did to deserve her hatred, but it seems like she enjoys making our life miserable and a living hell,” Alexandra whispered while embracing her youngest sister. “Listen to me, Algeree.” She nodded.

“Wilora had a valid reason to hate us,” Alexandra remarked. “In particular situations. Hell is love,” she continued.

Algeree gasped in a surprised, “Really? Ate Xandra? Why valid? How come? Are we the antagonist of this story?” she couldn’t believed of what she heard from her Ate Xandra.

Alexandra smiled and tapped her head. Stay silent.

“Ate, what are you trying to say?” she’s curious as hell. Seems an enormous issue about the past.

“Listen. Starting now, don’t ever try to defend yourself infront of that woman because our presence is also making her life miserable,” saad ni Xandra na naging rason kaya nanlaki ang mga mata ni Algeree. May alam ang kanyang Ate pero ngayon lang sa kanya sinasabi.

“Our Dad told me something disturbing. Mom used to be Wilora’s best friend, and Dad was Wilora’s first love. But Dad chose Mom in the end, his true love,” Alexandra shared and froze. Her youngest sister shocked but able to understand.

“I believe that’s one of the reasons why our lives have turned into a living nightmare; it’s all part of Wilora's twisted revenge,” Xandra added.

“Revenge,” Algeree repeated while staring to her Ate Xandra.

Revenge for heartbreak?

Time stop. Algeree has a huge sequels in her mind. The quietude in that afternoon was broken by Algeree's laughing hysterically. She can’t believed it. That’s awfully disease of a person who stuck in the past and don’t want to accept her defeat. Isn’t funny at all but she pitied her step mom.

“That's insane, Ate Xandra. How could she hold onto something like that for so long?”

“I don’t know, but Wilora’s always been vindictive. She’s never let go of the past, and now she’s using it to destroy our family,” Alexandra stating the sad fact.  Their step mom was creating fiery because of her own past, her failure and heartbreak.

“This is messed up. How far is Wilora willing to go for revenge?” Algeree putting a conclusion. Unfortunately, they need to admit and wait for another scheme made by their step mother.

“As far as it takes to tear us apart. She’s ruthless, and she won’t stop until she’s satisfied,” Alexandra ventured.

“No. She can’t do that to us. Her feelings isn’t a valid reason for her revenge. We are a daughters of her best friend, how could she-- we can’t let her win, Ate Xandra. We have to stand together and fight back,” Algeree insisted, as if she has a plan in her mind. “I’m done playing nice. Wilora has crossed a line, and she’s going to regret it. We’ll show her that she can’t break us,” Algeree added.

“It's time to take control of her and put an end to her   madness. Wilora's reign of terror ends now, I thought she has an attitude old menopausal woman but I was wrong. She’s making our life miserable for real. She is crazy,” Alexandra groaned and sigh heavily.

“We'll put an end to her schemes, Ate Xandra. We won’t let her ruin our lives any longer, we reclaim what’s ours, especially, Daddy. She manipulating him from the very beginning, how could he allow Wilora ruin our family?”

“Because, Daddy was protecting us. He tried to save us from her,” Alexandra muttered.

They know that their father was searching safe way on how his daughters get off from a poisonous claws of his second wife but their Daddy was such a kind and generous man. Or seems, Wilora brainwashed their Dad. She using her feelings to control him then played safely in front of their Dad.

“I got it!” Algeree exclaimed.

“What, Algeree? What's going on?” Xandra was curious.

“Wilora, she’s up to something. Now I had realized when Daddy was home. She’s quite but watching every moves we made. She’s always had this evil streak, but now she’s taken it to a whole new level. She’s using some kind of clout against us, all because, Daddy paid more attention to us in the past and until now.”

“That's messed up. So, what's her deal?” Alexandra asked.

“Simple! It's all about love, or rather, her twisted version of it. She’s obsessed with Daddy from the past, and she’ll do anything to get back the life she thinks she deserves. That’s why she’s kicking us away from her sight!” Algeree expressing hatred to their step mother.

“So, what's her ace in the hole? Do you think she’s cooking something against us? No. We need to move, we have to be alert and take a step ahead of her,” Alexandra trying to figure out her next move.

“Surely, she’s found something, some kind of  safeguard to use against us. I don’t know what it is, but she looks confident. She’s preparing something to distract us.”


“I know, Algeree. We can’t let her manipulate us like this. We have to find out what she’s planning and stop her before it’s too late. But-- maybe it’s too late,” Alexandra remembered something, she forget her situation right now because her mind focusing on how they stop their step mother. But actually they’re lost already. She knows the wedding was a part of her plans and she caught off guard.

“Too late? No! Ate Xandra. Don’t think about it. Let’s show Wilora that she can’t mess with us, okay? We'll take her down together and protect what’s ours. Please? If you find that married was her plan alone, then you have to run. Run for yourself, Ate,” Algeree suggested but her oldest sister suddenly realized, she’s nothing compare to that woman because their Daddy’s mind controlled by her.

She remembered that day before the wedding, her Ate Xandra determined to not let Wilora’s control her but it’s too late to give up. She protected Algeree and her Daddy. Then when, Alexandra finally left her alone. Her step mother was attacking her in silence, at first, Algeree ignored her tricks and she let her do what she desires but in the second time around she is better than her oldest sister, she is stubborn and clever. So, she never allowed her touch her lives again.

First year in Law school was a mix of excitement and enthusiasm but when she went home at night instead of studying in her room, her stepmother and stepsister creating tactics for annoying her. They aware that studying Law was a serious matter, seemed they are not happy about her. Wilora’s giving her chores everyday, before and after school.

Algeree endured her situation, she was a courageous and aspirational young lady who wanted to practice law successfully. Sadly, during her second year, her father asked her to change her major due to financial difficulties. However, she doesn't buy it because she is certain that her father's cruel wife is responsible for all of his decisions.

Though she couldn't believe that her Dad doing this to her, she then enrolled in a psychology course her second year of college. She protested first but when she realized that it adds stress in her and it complicates her life, she obeyed them peacefully. Then now, she put all of her effort into her studies, doing exceptionally well in her classes and gaining the admiration of both her peers and teachers. She needs to make it through. She must.

And she need to focus on her goal. To finish her studying and be successful someday. Algeree never allow any distraction that lead her to ruin her future timeline. Kahit pa may mga binatang sumusubok na lumapit para manligaw ay hindi niya binibigyang pansin at mailap siyang makipag-usap sa kahit na sino maliban kay Yvonne.
