CHAPTER 42: I performed Magic!

Violet

"Three," Vicky announced and we took our positions. "Two."

"Do your best." I whispered to Tory and she smiled back, nodding.

"One. Go!" Vicky shouted.

Tory made the first move and jumped on me with a flying fist to my stomach. I blocked her fist but she had managed to drop me on the ground. With all my strength, I pushed her from above me and got up. She was fast, she got up as well and tried to throw a kick at me but I caught her leg and rotated it so she fell on her face.

Urgh!

She panted and got up and gestured for me to make a move. I ran towards her but just as I was about to reach her, I ran around her, catching her off guard. I caught her neck from behind but she tried to use her hands to hit me. I took hold of her left hand and brought it behind her, kicking her in the back. She fell face forward again but I didn't leave her neck.

"Give up!" I screamed.

I squeezed her neck tighter as she gasped for air. She tapped her hand on the ground and I left her neck the next second and moved to check her.

"I am so sorry." I looked down at her.

She panted hard, trying to catch her breath as she turned around on her back. "If Alpha hears that," She gulped, "he'll make you do this whole thing again."

I chuckled.

"So what's our third round?" I asked Vicky as I stood up and looked at him, with my hands on my waist, panting just equally as Tory.

"We'll see after Stella and Nora finish."

Stella and Nora got inside the ring and after about three minutes Stella had won the game. Stella actually won both the rounds. While in our case I had won one game and Tory had won one.

"Indigo will make his decision." Vicky said and made us sit down.

"Tory." He called out and she sat up straight. "You do great when you are given solo tasks but what does happen when there is a dual?" Vicky asked her and she lowered her head. "When you know you can do it, stop holding yourself back. Make your move first rather than giving your opponent a chance. I am not happy that you gave away two chances for your survival."

"I am sorry, Chief," She whispered and sniffed.

"Violet. I was expecting you to cover more in the given time. Skipping a given obstacle will get you disqualified the next time. You have to do it one or the other way or it's game over. Your strategy even when given a chance was still weak. It would get you killed if your opponent turns out to be a trained fighter." He narrowed his eyes on me.

"I'll work hard on that." I said.

"Stella. Good going but your jumps still need more practice. Sparing wise I would say to focus on your leg movement. Learn to move them to keep your body evened out so it gives your upper body the needed potential." She nodded. I saw Indigo making his way towards us.

"Tory,"

"Yes, chief." She shouted.

"Nope! Today you did bad. You weren't even paying attention to your moves. You knew skipping the obstacles is a straight disqualification and you still did it. Is it just because Violet did it? Answer me!"

"I am sorry, Chief." She bent her head down.

Fuck I felt guilty here. I wanted to say something but just looking at Vicky made me shut my trap. Indigo came and stood next to him with his hands at his back.

"You are with the trackers tonight on patrol duty." He sternly said. She whimpered, making a face.

"I am not hearing it." He growled and she nodded immediately.

"Your third round will continue tomorrow. Join Jane now." He said and we got up.

We all made our way to another place which looked like a mini school ground. "Hey, Nora. I am sorry, I didn't know." I said as we walked.

"It is my fault, Violet. I was so bored today, I didn't want to do anything but I still put my all into the games."

"But the good thing is you get to gawk at your Russian cutie." Stella wiggled her eyebrows at her. Nora blushed so hard.

"Goddess! I didn't even think about it. Let me see, I can dress up in nice tights and maybe try to make a move because that loser won't speak." She began speaking and I knew she wouldn't stop. "Like bitch I am giving you my attention. Just take it, dude! How hard is it? And not like he doesn't want it. He's craving it! Tonight I'll show him. I'll make him choke on his own tracking device." she said and I raised an eyebrow.

"What?"

"His stupid nose! That's what!" We laughed. "Okay, so should I wear the green one or the yellow one? I think yellow will stand out at night. Yeah, I'll go with yellow. Definitely. And my hair, I'll do a loose bun!"

She had no regrets in life.

The small one floored L shaped building was an entire gym. One side of the L was females and the other side for males. But they could still use the gym together which was on the first floor. On the ground floor were changing rooms and showers, specifically separated for men and women.

It was the first time I had ever touched the gym. We had a gym instructor named Triss. She explained everything to me and guided me with the basic instructions and equipment.

Indigo talked to me at dinner. He said, "I get it that I am your Alpha now, Violet. But you're still my sister, my pup. Above everything you are an alpha yourself. Today, the way you called me Alpha was as if someone inferior to me would call me."

"What's wrong with that?" I shrugged and hogged my food. Laura was sitting across me beside Indigo, one hand under her chin and in the other she had a spoon.

Indigo looked at me dumbfounded. "You are his pup, Violet. His wolf won't have it if he makes you feel inferior. That's what's wrong. You're no less than he is and well it happened in front of everybody, that's what's more wrong." Laura said, sitting back in her chair.

"Wow, this is so complicated." I chuckled, making Indigo shake his head with a smile.

Things here were definitely complicated, especially with being an Alpha. I mean, I have to do one thing but at the same time I didn't have to do it.

What is this poor little soul supposed to do?

After that day, I went to the gym every day. Sometimes with Laura in the morning when Jane was busy and sometimes with Indigo in the evening. They literally didn't leave me alone.

Indigo still had things he needed to tell me and I was waiting for him to tell me. I hadn't seen Winter after that day. I actually thought I had a dream because she didn't visit after that. I told Laura the thing mom and dad told me.

We were sitting in the living room one afternoon and she was on her laptop, typing stuff. "Laura. I almost forgot to tell you something." I said and sat up straight.

"What? Are you okay?" She quickly put the laptop aside.

"Yeah. It's about you. After I woke up from my episode two days later, in my dream Lily said that you need to be careful with what you are doing."

He shook her head, narrowing her eyebrows. "She said that?" I nodded. "Me?"

"Uh, yeah."

"Okay."

"Okay? So you going to tell Indigo?" I asked.

She shot up from her seat. "No, do not mention this to anyone."

"Okay."

"Why didn't you tell Indigo about this?" She asked.

I shrugged. "I don't know." I stared at her.

"Okay. don't mention this to anyone." she said again and I shrugged again.

Laura was such an angel. Indigo and Laura got me those medications for my episodes. Since then I have been taking them on alternate days as prescribed to me. Every night before going to bed both of them confirmed if I took the medication. I even stopped having those dreams after my first episode here. I was happy the witch was out of my head but I was also sad because I couldn't see my parents anymore.

I tried drawing what I saw at the waterfall and had multiple sketches prepared. I wanted to be sure which one was correct the next time I saw it. I tried escaping to get to the waterfall but all my chances were failing. I could maybe do it with the help of Winter but dayana hadn't made an appearance.

So I just decided to do it anyway. I ran out of the door when Indigo and Laura were not at home. I ran down the path I remembered from the dream and from when Indigo had taken me. I kept turning back just in case someone saw me. My heart was racing wildly as I was running into the wild.

My racing heart wasn't scared but it was eager. It was racing in the want to see who this person was. I reached and went straight in the water. My leggings absorbed water as much as I went further. I closed my eyes for a moment and prayed for magic to happen. Opening my eyes, I lifted my right hand to touch the waterfall. "Please." I whispered.

I was shivering at that point. My hand passed through the flowing water. The rustling of the water and everything around it stopped at once. I gasped and pulled my hand back. My breathing stopped as a small smile began forming on my lips.

This is happening! I literally did magic!

The now sheet of water began rolling upwards from its base. I took a step back and waited as my eyes brimmed with tears. "Come on, come on." I whispered again as I saw the sheet move past my eye level and I was met by the same window of the castle. This time it was much clearer. My hand covered my mouth as I held back a sob.

This man in black was still there, slowly walking towards the big opening of the stony structure. The place looked like an absolute heaven. Once again, just like the last time I was able to see his shoes. I tried remembering them as much as I could. He moved further ahead and his legs came into view. The curtains blowing were blocking my view of him. I was crying now because this felt like torture of some kind. My heart felt like it was being squeezed in my chest. I was dying to see this man. The pull I felt was unlike anything.

God, please!

The man moved ahead more and came to a halt just some steps away from the edge. Fucking hell, the curtains were a big issue. I wanted them taken away. I got a small glance of his belt, sitting on his waist around his black denim. There was a shiny broach that caught my attention. But it shined too bright for me to actually catch how it looked. The next thing I saw was his left hand, holding a wine glass.

I wanted to die right now.

His hand was covered in tattoos. The sheet of water began coming down faster than the first down. "No, no, no, no!" I tried stopping it somehow but it came down on me, engulfing me in.

"Violet." Indigo's voice was in my head.

Fuck, fuck!

I ran out of there as fast as possible, evading the water running over me. I rushed out of the pool that began forming below my feet. Running out of it seemed almost impossible with my body shivering and my heart hurting. My legs wanted to give out but I couldn't let them. I didn't want Indigo to know about this.

"Violet!" Indigo called out again.

"Yeah." I ran as fast as I could. I was now drenched from head to toe, wiping away my tears which were hiding pretty behind my wet form.

"Where are you?" he roared in the link.

"Wondering. Coming home right away!" I answered, gathering my shit.

Fuck I was in trouble.

He growled in the link and I knew I was going to be grounded or something. Shit! I was so fucking scared. I was trying to run but it felt like my legs moved slower than usual. I stumbled in the bushy path and got my leg tangled in it. Cursing under my breath, I rid myself of the wine and got up again.

Why does the world want me to be more late than I already was getting?!

I heard the noise of animals coming from the opposite direction and I increased my pace. I heard a growl and I knew it was Indigo. I quickly hid behind a bush and closed my mouth. I heard another growl and I knew he was near.

"Violet, it's better if you come out of your hiding." Indigo growled in the link. I stiffened.

I peeped out and was met by amber eyes looking like they burned with anger and fear.

"Hi!" I jumped out, scared like a rat on a chase.

"Get on my back." His voice was so dull with emotions. Without a word, I got on his back and held his neck. He sprinted towards the cabin and I was trying to brace myself for- I didn't know what I was going to face today. He wanted to run to burn his anger. I could feel him fuming. But he kept his pace steady for me. God, he was such a cutie.

We reached home and Laura was waiting for us at the door. She narrowed her eyes at me but did not speak. "Go change and come down." Indigo linked me.

I got off him and looked at him, biting both my lips in my mouth. His wolf didn't even look at me. I looked at Laura and she shook her head slowly, indicating to not speak up yet.

I ran inside and went to my room. I quickly changed into a boyfriend shirt and dried my hair with a towel. I wore shorts under my shirt and went down, thinking of all the possible ways I could to explain Indigo. The thing was, I couldn't think of any.

My brain was slow. I will remember big fat sentences after I get out of any situation! And then I just regret everything.

Does this only happen to me?! God!

Laura and Indigo were sitting on the couch in an uncomfortable silence. I went in slowly and fidgeted with my shirt. Laura looked at me and gestured to me to sit. "I can explain." I said as I sat down.

"Are you sure about that?" Indigo met my eyes and I cowered back. He never before looked at me like that. His temper was really high and his eyes were burning yellow.

That emotional fucking side of me kicked in and my nose tingled, my eyes threatning tears. "I just wanted to explore.." I tried but my eyes dazed. Laura sat with her hand on Indigo's back.

"Without even informing me?" Indigo questioned.

"You wouldn't have let me go." I whispered as that damn tear rolled down my eyes.

And I wouldn't have seen the magical waterfall or that man again.

"I would have taken you there. All you had to do was ask!" He said, making me flinch at his tone. Laura's expression turned painful as she looked at me. She knew I was wrong and she would never support me for that.

"You say you'll tell me everything but you keep things to yourself." I whispered and wiped my tears.

Indigo was taken aback as he shut his mouth and covered his face with his hands. His elbows were resting on his knees and he looked more stressed. "That doesn't have anything to do with this." He said, raising his head and meeting my eyes.

Crap, he was right.

I stayed quiet and didn't say anything.

"I am scared for you. Why don't you understand this?" He said sounding too vulnerable. Laura winced at his tone.

"And I am scared that you'll be scared for me. I am strong as you are and you need to put a little faith in me that I won't do something stupid." I told him and sobbed.

He closed his eyes and nodded. He rubbed his face again as if he was fighting with himself to say things. "You want to hear it now?" Indigo asked, looking at me now. I nodded. He extended his hand towards me and made me sit in between them. He kissed my head for a long minute and moved back. I looked at him and waited for him to speak.

"Do you remember when we talked about your aura?" He asked and moved my wet hair away from my place.

I nodded. "Yeah. You said I was strong." Laura wiped my tears with her sleeves.

He pressed his lips together and inhaled a deep breath. "Your aura is a healing of some sort."

Hold on, what!

"How?" I asked, pulling my running nose up and taking a quick glance at Laura.

"It just is." He shrugged. "I sensed it after we crossed the border. It has been growing since then."

Oh.

"Have I healed anyone?" I asked the obvious question.

"I think you pulled Klaus' wolf out of darkness." Indigo said and Laura nodded.

"Are you sure?" I asked again because I literally could not believe any of this.

He nodded. "You did heal Gabby too and some of the others you've met."

"I cannot believe this. Is my aura still there?" I asked, although it seemed weird and looked at Laura. She nodded.

"Like is it visible or something?" I asked, my eyes wide as a fucking hawk.

Laura chuckled, "No!" I turned my head to the left wanting more explanation. "It's soothing for the soul, you know." She said, bumping her head with mine in the cutest way.

"Wow, I still cannot believe this."

"We couldn't either but.. You've not just healed them. You've healed your brother as well. He just won't say it." Laura said, her eyes darting towards Indigo once.

I turned to Indigo. He smiled and kissed my forehead.

I just couldn't believe it. I was fucking made of magic. At that moment I didn't know if I should grin about my magic or.. God! I felt so magical.

Like who wouldn't. I could literally stop a waterfall and turn it into a screen and then this aura where I magically healed people. I should treat myself with something. Damn!

"And what else?" I asked.

"What else?" Indigo looked at Laura.

"Well, I was able to smell your wolves on the night of my episode. Dad said you'll explain." I glared at him.

He bit his lip and sat back. "We were able to smell your wolf too."

I gasped. "You were?" I smiled ear to ear, jumping in my seat. I mean I felt so good. She was there within me after all. I wasn't completely human even with the curse.

"Yup. It was the best feeling ever, baby. My wolf couldn't stop nursing you. You were just like a young pup, wanting our warmth." Laura said, kissing the back of my head.

"I was a wolf, you mean." I squealed in joy, tears forgotten.

"My wolf was so happy, little one." Indigo looked at me, with a smile.

"Aww!" I pulled his cheek. Laura laughed and Indigo pulled my hand away from his cheeks.

"Violet." He said, as he began breaking my knuckles. I wiggled my eyebrows at him.

"What's at the waterfall, that you had to go without letting me know." He asked and I stilled. I made a weird face at first and showed him my teeth.

"I love it there. It's so beautiful. And you don't take me anywhere cool." I pouted.

A lie. I felt so horrible.

He gazed into my eyes for a few seconds and then looked at Laura. "Next time, please let either of us know."

"Sure." I nodded and kissed his cheek.

"Jane will be taking you some place tomorrow." He smiled and pulled me close, running a hand through my wet hair.

"New place?" I asked in glee.

"Yup. You're going to love it. You won't get a chance to complain after that." He chuckled.

"I'll be there too." Laura said and I turned to look at her with a big smile.

"Should we take Lianna too and even my friends and even .."

"No!" Indigo said, getting up.

I twisted my lips at the side, ignoring him. Laura bit back her laughter and patted my shoulder, getting up. "We have some things to take care of. Be home and don't go anywhere." Laura said, and bent down to kiss my head.

I grunted and fell back on the couch. "Fine!"

But then I remembered something. "Oh hey! What about you getting me a pet."

Indigo and Laura stopped in their tracks and looked at each other. "I'll look into that." Indigo replied and pressed his lips together.

I rolled my eyes at him and turned on the TV. Laura laughed and hit him playfully as they were leaving. I sat binging with the pizza Laura had brought. It was peace and quiet until..

"Aren't you trouble?" I heard a voice very close to my ear. I screamed so loud and jerked my hand back to hit the person. And my hand did make contact with her face.

"Oh my god!" I rushed to her side and helped her up. She had fallen down with a thud and was holding her head.

It was my ghost of a cousin, Winter.

"Fuck, Fuck!" I said, picking her up and making her sit on the bed. "You scared me. It wasn't my fault."

"I am never doing that again with you atleast!" she rubbed the side of her head and looked at me. A small smile formed on her lips. "So." She raised her eyebrows.

"We're fucking cousins by blood!" I sat next to her and shook her, holding her shoulders.

"Still dizzy here," She groaned.

"Oops! Sorry!" I cringed. "You were MIA for too long. Where the hell were you?"

"Well as a ghost.." she paused when I shivered, "as a dayana.." She rolled her eyes using the name I substituted for a ghost. "I have things to do, places to be. Sometimes, it's fun haunting people." She flipped her hair, seeming proud. I gave her a look but she smiled anyway. "And what else did you find out?" She asked.

I sunk back on the couch. "Bruh! Don't ask!"

She laughed and sat back as well. "You escaped pretty easily today."

"You were there?" I asked her.

"I was here. I heard your talks with Indigo." She said, moving forward and picking up the piece of pizza. I picked the remote and paused what I was watching.

I nodded. "It's a lot but I am living like a normal person. I don't know how to react to it. I mean, damn, I am excited as fuck but I am also shocked as hell! Like please give me a goddamn break." I said and she looked at me with an adorable smile. "No, but I also don't need a break. I want my life to be more happening. You get what I mean," I asked her, making a face.

"Just be you." She said and bit the pizza, taking a big bite.

"Uhhuh, easy to say. Alpha's are so complicated." I rolled my eyes. "Wait, you're an Alpha too. And your brother. He's the Alpha of your pack!" I faced her, sitting straight.

She cleared her throat after gulping. "Yup. He's the alpha. Alpha Vincent." She said, her eyes looking mischievous.

"What? What's with that look?" I asked her.

"You know how we are cousins of cousins." She said and ate again.

"Eh?" I narrowed my eyes, giving her a weird look.

She nodded, gesturing to her mouth. I glared at her until she finished eating. "My father and your mother were cousins as well."

"Okay so?"

"So we're pups from different Alpha's. You carry a different heredity from your father. That gives a fifty percent chance that my brother might be your mate."

I stared at her and my smooth going life cracked.

"What?!" I stood up shocked to the depth of my soul. "We're cousins!!!" I wheezed.

"Tell that to my brother." She rolled her eyes, sitting calmly as ever and eating the pizza. She was way too calm.

"Explain your calmness, dayana." I sat down again and looked straight into her eyes.

"He was a die hard fan of you, Violet. You two were best friends forever. Like unbreakable. Our parents were sure your bond was more than just the cousin bond." she finger quoted pressing on the word cousin, rolling her eyes. "You two were just too much to handle. The way my brother looked at you was just... and don't get me started on the way he stares at your pictures..." She said, opening her eyes wide and eating again. "I didn't know about any of this until I grew up. You know I was just two when the attack happened. But being a ghost also has its perks. I once freaked Vincent out because his cute little lovey-dovey poems that he wrote for you caught my eyes and mistakenly one paper was out of the treasure box. Lmao!" She laughed.

I sat staring at her like a deer caught in the lights. Vincent was in love with me. In love with me! We could be mates! I could get rid of this curse if he loved me. I wouldn't have to suffer anymore.

"Back to earth, babe." Winter clicked her fingers in front of my face, making me blink my eyes.

"You're not lying are you?" I asked her, my voice barely audible.

She gave me a sorry smile. "I wouldn't dare."

"Does Indigo know about this?" I asked her.

"Indigo cares way too much about you, Violet. Don't doubt his intentions for hiding this from you. You mean too much to him." She said, her eyes gazing but she blinked them and picked up the second piece of pizza.

"But what if he is my mate? Does he still..you know.."

"Vincent is madly and deeply in love with you, Violet. Your death killed him too. And he knows you are here. I don't know how he's still holding himself strong and not making a run here." She shook her head.

The way Winter said it, more bluntly and truthfully made my heart race like a thousand times faster. I flushed knowing someone loved me so much. My cheeks turned red and my hands began sweating. My stomach was doing flips as my entire body turned cold.

"Gee, Violet! Relax. You're sweating." Winter laughed as if it was nothing.

I myself did not understand this feeling. I mean, there were plenty of guys that straight up came to me and said they loved me to my face but this was just something so pure. I didn't know what to say. Vincent was madly and deeply in love with me. Oh my god!

"I don't know what to say, Winter. It feels weirdly good to hear about him." I said and sat back with a shy smile.

"He could be a potential mate. Don't keep your expectations high on the mate thing, Violet." She said, turning away from me and resuming the paused show on the TV.

I looked at her but she just watched the TV. She definitely had some secrets of her own. "How does he know I am here?"

"You passed his territory, Violet." She said, now looking at me. "Don't mention anything to Indigo. He means well to keep you safe. I think Vincent means the same. Both of them do not want more people to know about you. Atleast not until the events are over." She said, passing me her half eaten piece of pizza.

I let out a breath and took the pizza from her and bit into it. "I'll trust Indigo." I said, staring at the TV.

"You should." She winked.

"Uhmm. I heard your mother also didn't.." She nodded. "Is she a gho.."

"No." She replied, giving me a smile that made my heart ache.

"So no one else?" I asked.

She shook her head. "I was taken care of by someone until I started understanding things. They still take care of me but I am on my own most of the time now."

I finished the pizza in my hand and moved to pick up another piece but the box was empty. "You owe me my pizza." I gave her a side eye glance.

"I ate like two pieces!" She argued.

"They were two big pieces, dayana!"

"Oh Goddess! You gonna cry about two pieces now." she argued more but her face broke into a smile.

I couldn't control the laughter either. "Yeah, they were mine!"

"It didn't have your name on it!" She laughed.

"I don't care!" I laughed and we ended up hugging eachother.

That laughter turned into sniffing and then loud cries as we kept hugging eachother. "I am sorry you had to go through everything alone." I held her tighter as I tried breathing.

"It isn't your fault." She cried.

"You could have lived too."

"There's so much waiting for us in life, Vi. I am not regretting getting to haunt bad people. Especially my brother. Not that he's bad." She cleared, making me chuckle at her.

"Well, involve me sometime." I said and we pulled away.

"Yes, my queen." she said, with a salute, making me laugh. "You're too precious." She whispered. I laughed more because everyone said that.

"Yeah. I might put myself in a glass box if one more person says that." She chuckled.

Well who wouldn't love to haunt people!
