I ran behind Gamora as we ran down the halls to Mantis's room. Gamora burst through the room and we saw Mantis talking to Drax. She ran towards her and picked her up by her throat.

"Hey!" Drax yelled as I brought out my staff and held it by her face.

Gamora then slammed her against the wall.

"Who are you people?! What is this place?!" Gamora yelled. Drax then noticed Nebula.

"What is she doing here?"

"Just watching the fireworks." She replied.

"Gamora, let her go!" Drax yelled.

"The bodies in the cavernd, who are they?!"

"Your scared" Mantis said as Gamora dropped her,  terrified. She backed away.

"What did she do to me?!"

"She already told me everything." Drax said. I slowly lowered my staff and sighed.

"The bodies are his children." Mantis explained as I looked at her horrified.

"We need to find Peter now and get off this damn planet." I stated.

"Ego will have won him to his side by now. He has a way of--"

"Then we just go." Nebula cut her off.

"No. He is our friend." I said.

"All any of you do is yell at eachother. You're not friends."

"You're right. We're family. We leave no one behind." Drax said as he turned to Nebula.

"Except maybe you."

"Oh my god." Nebula muttered.

~ 3rd person p.o.v ~

"For the first time in my life, I am truly not alone." Ego spoke as Quill was lifted in the air, with the strange power surrounding him. All of the sudden Quill looks sad.

"What is it, son?" Ego asked.

"My friends." Quill spoke sadly.

"That's the mortal in you, Peter."

"Yes. I don't need that "

"What are we?"

"Forever." Quill spoke.

"What are they?"

"Temporary."

"You think you love them. But love is merely an evolutionary trick in the service of reproduction. We are beyond such things."

"Yes."

"Now--"

"But my mother."

Ego looked at his son questioningly.

"You said you loved my mother."

"That I did. My river lily, who knew the words to every song that came on the radio. I returned to earth to see her three times. I knew if I came back a fourth, I'd never leave. The expansion, the reason for my very existence would be over. So I did what I had to do. But it broke my heart to put that tumor in her head."

"Wh-what?"

The cosmos in Quill's eyes faded as tears ran down his face.

"I know that sounds bad--"

But Quill gave him no time to finish as he whipped out his blaster and shot at Ego. The blast tore through Ego, but his molecules built him back. Quill shoot at him repeatedly. And all Ego did was look at him disappointed.

"Who in the hell do you think you are?"

"You killed my mother!"

Ego then transformed into David Hasselhoff.

"I tried so hard to find the form that best suited you, and this is the thanks I get?" Ego spoke as he changed back into his normal form.

"You really need to grow up."

A spiky cosmic light-propelled tendril shoots up from the floor behind Quill and juts into his body and thrusted into the air. He let's out a scream as white light emits.

"I wanted to do this together! But I suppose you'll have to learn by spending the next thousand years as battery, 'Star-Lord'."

~ Kiana's p.o.v ~

I gazed out of the window of the palace when my transmitter went off.

"Rocket?!" I yelled into the transmitter.

"Keep that transmitter nearby so I can find you. We're in an old piece of construction equipment Yondu once used to slice open the Bank of A'askavaria."

"Ego's unhinged --"

"I know. Get ready." Rocket spoke as he cut me off.

~ 3rd person p.o.v ~

Ego walked up to Quill and snatched his Walkman off of him.

'Brandy, you're a fine girl. What a good wife you would be.'

"'My life, my love, my lady is the sea?' Peter, this is the sea."

Ego then crushed Quill's Walkman in his hand. The power surges from Quill through the tentacle and throughout the palace.

~ Kiana's p.o.v ~

We run toward the palace as it burst with cosmic light, it was so bright that we all covered our eyes. We ran inside of the palace and Drax kicked open the door. With Nebula, Gamora and I at his sides as Ego turns to face us. We then heard rumbling above, when all of the sudden a giant laser drill come smashing through the palace wall.

"Hey there, Jackass." Yondu said as he jumped in. The laser drill then lands on Ego, squashing him. The tendril retracts from Quill and he falls to the floor, breathing heavily. We then all run into the crumbling palace. The door to the laser drill slides open and Baby Groot is seen as he smiles and waves at us.

"Out of the way, dumber, smaller Groot." Drax spoke as he crawled into the ship. I helped Quill up and finally I climbed in.

"I told you something did not feel right." I spoke.

"'I told you si.' That's really what I need right now." Quill said.

"I came back, did I not?"

"Because there's an unspoken thing."

"There is no unspoken thing " I mumbled.

We all walked through the drill and opened the door.

"What are you doing? You could have killed us all crashing in here like that!" Drax yelled at Rocket.

"Uh, 'Thank you, Rocket'?"

"We had it under control." Drax said

"We did not. That is only an extension of his true self. He will be back soon ." Mantis said.

"What's smurfette doing here?!" Quill asked as he noticed Nebula.

"Back rubs, dishes, killing gods, whatever I need to do to get a danm ride home."

"She tried to murder me!" Rocket yelled.

"I saved you, you stupid fox."

"He is not a fox." I said.

"I am groot."

"I'm not a ravin either!"

"I am groot."

"'Raccoon,' whatever."

All of the sudden tentacle like strands burst up through the palace flooring all around the drill. Drax turned to us.

"How do we kill a Celestial?"

"There's the center to him - his brain, his soul, whatever it is, in some sort of shell--"

"It's in the caverns below the surface." Mantis spoke. Quill then climbed the ladder to see...

"Yondu?" He asked.

Nebula then looked over at Gamora and I.

"If he's got that fin back, I am so screwed."

Yondu thrust the ship to go foreword, but tentacles wrapped around the ship yanking us back to the floor. Making the floor beneath us crumble.

We are screwed.
