hoseok's foster mother was at the grocery store to pick up some seeds to plant so she could kill some time. she had hoseok on the cart seat so she could watch him as she walked around the store. hoseok was just four years at the moment so she made sure that no one steals her baby boy.

"we're here~" the mother cooed as she stopped strolling the cart and looked over the seeds with care. she saw that there were various options from plants to flowers. she saw a pack of tree seeds. they seemed simple and not too hard to take care of.

"how about these, hobi?" she got a hold of the pack and hung it above hoseok's small head. hoseok giggled, the adorable sound that the mother was yearning to hear. after hearing the sweet lullaby, the mother decided to buy the pack of seeds. but not after going in the food section to get herself a treat.

after going through the check out station, the mother held the small bag on one hand and hoseok on the other. the mother held hoseok close to her chest to not drop the child and outside she went.

the mother put hoseok in his car seat and drove to her home to plant the tree with hoseok.

the mother put her snack on the dinner table, putting hoseok on the floor to get ready to go out to the back yard. she made sure to cover hoseok more than when they went to the store. hoseok had a thicker coat and a small beanie on his head. a pair of small boots to make the outfit complete.

the mother held hoseok until they got to the backyard and carried the bag with much less care.

during the time they spent together, the mother realized how much the little boy meant to her. the more she watched hoseok make multiple mistakes with planting the tree, the more she could giggle with him and appreciate his existence.

it had been three years since she got a hold of hoseok and it was the best years she could ever have. before those years, she would look at her foster kids with misery. she didn't care about kids but she needed money to survive. and she saw that this career was the best one she could have. even if she wasn't the best with children.

"mama~" hoseok laughed out with his heart shaped lips as he held his hands out for a large hug. he was sitting on the dry dirt with a plastic shovel and rake. the mother attacked hobi with the biggest hugs she could give.

the tree that grew to be tall years later. it was never forgotten nor was it ever mistreated with older kids. it was never in a bad state and it was never hated by people. it was there for the family to enjoy. for the two to enjoy before another little devil joined them which would come to be the one and only, kim taehyung.

"hobi!" taehyung kissed hoseok on the cheek multiple times at a time and hugged him with affection. his very first older brother was right in front of him. taehyung, being four, hugged his five year old brother.

a year passed since the day they planted the plant and taehyung joined the family.

taehyung went into foster care because his parents were getting into some financial problems and they couldn't afford to take care of their son any longer. the court gave his parents a year to recover and if they still couldn't afford keeping a child, then they would lose custody of taehyung.

taehyung didn't feel so affected though. they barely spent any time with him which might be the main reason that he didn't feel emotionally attacked. taehyung couldn't blame them though.

they were working their butts off to afford the house that they were in. they tried their best to give taehyung a good childhood but they just couldn't do it anymore.

"taeuie~" hoseok giggled. soon the laughter died down and taehyung let hoseok have his own personal space. the two children sat on the couch to think. it wasn't long once taehyung joined the pack but they already felt close.

"wot's your vaverate colur? (what's your favorite color?)" hoseok said in broken words. he was still young so he could really speak well. taehyung giggled and brought up a very small purple crayon. it was used up until it could be barely held. "purper crayoon~" taehyung replied.

after a couple of hours of playing around, the mother prepared dinner for the kids. she made sure to make it delicious so she could gain taehyung's "favorite mama" award although she really isn't his mother, yet.

she made some soup and a couple of dinosaur chicken for some appetizers. she poured the kids some orange juice while she poured some coca cola for herself. she called them in and both their eyes sparkled.

they are their dinner with empty stomachs. once they were done, they thanked their mother and left to play longer. the mother just smiled at them and waited for them to leave before she cleaned up the table.

two kids came into her life and changed it. she didn't expect it to be three.
