hoseok was standing in front of a taller female. he was five at the time and the female looked around thirteen years old. taehyung was in his room while hoseok allowed the female inside of the house by opening the front door for her.
"who are you?" she asked.
"i'm hoswook~" hoseok said in a cheerful mood. the teenage girl didn't seem to be amused by hoseok's actions but he ignored her expressions.
"where's my brother?" she asked.
"whot browder? (what brother?)" hoseok asked, his words still a bit broken.
"learn to speak first, kid. my brother who was supposed to be here. you have him now give him back!" she yelled at hoseok. hoseok started to frown. he felt tears starting to well up on the corner of his eyes. the girl didn't care, instead she just went inside the house without asking.
"hay, u straingur! (hey, you stranger!)" hoseok yelled. "mama!" he yelled and ran to the kitchen to get his mother. she was concerned at first but once she saw the female, she calmed hoseok down.
"she's here to live here, hobi," she sweetly said to the boy. the girl had her eyes wide once she heard that.
"i'm not staying here! i requested to be with my brother, not here!"
"calm down, sweetheart. maybe there was a mistake in the system. we'll figure this out," the mother's soothing voice didn't seem to stop the girl from being aggressive.
"you better fix it now or else! i can't live a day here! i'd rather die than be near that cringy kid right there!" she pointed toward hoseok. hoseok didn't understand what she was saying but since her face looked angry, he assumed it was bad.
the mother's sweet expression went away once she heard the girl call her son an unnecessary name.
"don't call hoseok names. if you want to insult anyone, then insult me. not my boy," she said in a stern voice. the girl didn't say anything after that. she just dropped on the couch and went on her phone to text her brother.
"come on, hobi," the mother picked up hoseok. she made sure the boy was by her hips and walked him to the kitchen where she could watch the boy from a distance.
later that day, the mother made sure to call the facility and report a mistake. after the call, the mother spent some time with the boys. the female kid didn't want to talk to them so she wasn't so involved.
after hours of play time, it was time for sleep. hoseok was tucked in his own bed while taehyung just kissed his foster mother on the cheek as a goodnight. the mother checked to see if the girl was asleep but that was all she did. the mother made her bed and slept for the day.
sleep makes seven hours seem like minutes and after waking up, it only makes a person more tired. that was why she was wondering what all the screaming were. the mother jumped out of bed and went to see what had happened and the scene was shocking.
she saw the female girl holding hoseok's right wrist above his head while he cried. the female looked mad and taehyung was across them, looking a little mad but not more than playful.
"what's happening?" the mother asked. she went over to over to pick hoseok up. she did and she kept him away from the girl's touch.
"he hit tae just because tae didn't want to give him his favorite crayon!"
"is that true, hobi?" the mother asked gently. she got rid of her mad expression and softened up just so she wouldn't scare hoseok. hoseok nodded his head shamefully, still crying.
this time taehyung stood up from his spot, "he did hit me but it didn't hurt at all! we were just playing!" taehyung crossed his arms.
"still, hobi shouldn't hit anyone else," the mother left the scene with hoseok. she sat hoseok down on her bed and out of sudden, started tickling him. she wanted to make hoseok laugh instead of cry. it hurt her heart too much so she decided to change that.
"don't cry, hobi! you aren't in trouble," she calmed down from her torture and layed down on the bed with her child. hoseok's face was no longer sad but it was still a little wet from all the tears. the mother used her thumb to wipe away the tear streaks.
"you're a good boy, hobi. don't let her get to you and just keep being happy. you're handsome when you smile," she brushed hoseok's hair from his face. her heart warmed up; she completely forgot the incident that happened just moments before.
"she'll be gone, don't worry."
