Scorpius Malfoy and Albus Potter, of Ravenclaw and Slytherin respectively, were having a perfectly fine talk thank you very much, until Rose Weasley came running up to them, shouting and looking extra cheerful

"Hey! Scorpius! We just learned palm-reading in Divination!" Rose was actually a true Seer, much to her mother's dismay. "Don't you like someone? Let's see if you're meant to be." She grinned at him, and Scorpius reluctantly agreed, and gave her his palm. Albus turned away, not wanting to hear about his crushes' love life with someone else.

"Wow, it says here you've got it for them pretty bad. I didn't even know you had feelings!" Rose said, looking at Scorpius' palm and laughing.

"Shut up." Was his only embarrassed reply.

Scorpius and Rose have been getting along pretty well. Albus thought It's probably who she's talking about right now. Ironic it's herself.

"Aww cheer up! Apparently it's about to progress to the next level!" Rose said, cheerily

"Really?" Scorpius asked, hesitantly. Rose rarely got these things wrong, but still, what were the chances?

I guess I should take this as a hint. Rose probably knows it's her and likes him too. After all, who wouldn't? Albus thought, glumly.

"Well, that's all I can tell right now, sorry Scorpy!" Rose said, looking over at Albus. "Hey Albus, I know there's someone you like! Let me see your palm!"

"No no, it's all right Rose, you don't have to worry about me!" Stuttered Albus. I don't want you to know I like your future boyfriend. Was all that he was thinking.

"Oh shush, yes I do! Anyways, I want to!" She said, grabbing his hand.

Albus has someone he likes? Scorpius thought, jealously. This emotion was decently conveyed on his face, because Albus took one look at him and thought

Oh no, he must think I'm such a third wheel, taking up all of Rose's attention.

"Ooh, is it someone really close to you?" Rose asked, mainly to herself

"Uh- well- ye- no, I mean." Albus stuttered

"Oh my, it is! Are they in Slytherin? Maybe Ravenclaw?" She asked, again mainly to herself. All the while Scorpius was thinking

Who the hell could it be? Is it that idiot Victoire? I swear I'll hex her!

"Scorpius," Rose started, looking over at him. "Why are you pouting all of a sudden?"

"I'm not." Came Scorpius' answer, knowing he was lying through his teeth.

Albus looked at him and thought

Oh gosh he really is mad at me. I'm such an idiot.

Rose looked back at Albus, and saw him looking sad, and distinctly at everywhere but Scorpius.

She looked at Scorpius, who was doing the same, but was pouting.

"Wait a minute...." She started, the gears turning in her head. "Oh Merlin!" She cried out to the sky, one-hundred and ten percent done with both of them. "Come on! I am so done with this!" She cried out, unnoticed by both boys, who were very absorbed in their own thought. "And I was having such a good day today to." She mumbled under her breath as she walked away. Both boys were still very glum, and decidedly not looking at each other. "On second thought," She said, walking back, just as annoyed. "If I don't do it, Merlin knows you oblivious idiots won't!" She grabbed both of their hands and roughly put them in each others as she cried out "MAY YOU HAVE A HAPPY FUTURE TOGETHER!" As she walked away for the last time, she mumbled under her breath "Honestly, nothing would ever get done without me here."

Well, that broke the boys out of their stupor. It took Albus a moment to realize what happened before he called

"Rose?" confusedly, at the same time that Scorpius asked

"Wait, what?" Both boys looked at each other and realized what that meant. It took them both a second before they did, and they both blushed and looked away.

But neither let go.
