Mostly because it turned out she was pregnant so I ended up with twenty-two cats but the kittens were so cute!! The most adorable little predators, you wouldn't believe it

I named them Ophelia, Gertrude, Hamlet, Horatio, and Claudius

One of them scratched me on the eye and it got infected

Anyway I ended up shelling out a few hundred dollars to keep them in kibble and had to hide them from my landlord

I managed to find them all homes in the end, though in Ethel's case I had to drive her to a different state

She had diabetes, you see, so her care was more difficult, and since she was so old there were many telling me it was best to euthanize her!!

Naturally I refused, but she also kept trying to bite and may or may not have been both deaf and blind

Also I'm somewhat certain she had some sort of communicable disease

But it all made sense when I found out she wasn't a domestic cat at all but a Pallas cat, native to the steppes of Central Asia
