Dreams - Atsushi Murasakibara
"It's late already..." you murmur to yourself as you look up from your watch to stare at the setting sun from the window on the second floor. "Why would he still be here so late...?"
Your friend Mai, on her way out, had told you that a certain violet-haired male was still at school while you were busy finishing your duties as a hall monitor.
"Hm? And does that concern me?" you had blankly stared back at Mai, who was obviously trying to hint at something.
"Gaaah, (f/n)cchi! You don't get it, do you?!" Mai had yelled and ran off. "Heartless woman!"
"...? Eh?"
So there you were at school, walking down the empty halls to your classroom, where you assumed that was where Murasakibara was. However, when you opened the door and stepped in, no one was there.
Not like you were expecting anything or whatever.
But it did startle you slightly as you walked over to your desk to pick up your bag. "Where could he be then...? He might get locked into school tonight," you thought aloud practically, like the kind - yet somewhat distant (and oblivious) - girl you were. So you spent the next half an hour wandering around the school, trying to find the sweet tooth.
After quite some time, you ended up on the roof. "Well, this is the last place he could be..." you said more to yourself and walked over to the fence. Everything looked so small from up here, and your breath caught in your throat from the colors streaming across the sky. Then you heard a gentle sneeze.
You whirled around and noticed a lump on the top of the small room that lead to the roof. Murasakibara was there, arms behind his head and his face so peaceful you didn't want to wake him up. You would have left him there, but it was getting late, and you were sure he didn't want to have a sleepover in the school. You spotted the ladder on the side of the small buildling and climbed up next to Murasakibara. Crawling on your knees as to not disturb him, you peered closer at his face. He did look like a child, even when he wasn't eating sweets. He didn't look like his normal sadistic scowling self, and it made you smile a bit, thinking about it.
You gently poked his cheek. "Murasakibara-san, it's late," you tried. "Wake up. Murasakibara-san." You kept poking his cheek. "Yo..."
-
"How about this sweet, Murasakibara-kun?" you were asking him as the two of you held hands, window shopping in the nearby plaza.
"Call me Atsushi, and any one is fine," he found himself saying with a slight blush as he looked away. "Jeez, just choose the one you like."
You giggled, pulling his arm closer to you. "Mh, then...I want what's even sweeter~"
He looked over at you in surprise as you leaned in for a kiss-
-
There was a finger in his mouth. A finger that was not his in his mouth. Murasakibara's eyes flew open as he stared at the hand.
"Ah...?" you were hovered over him, a very confused look on your face. "Murasakibara-san..."
Immediately, a noncharacteristic blush bloomed on the basketball player's face as he quickly backed away.
To be honest, it had caught you by surprise, too, when he suddenly bit your finger - you thought he was awake - but you had just assumed that he was dreaming about candy so he mistook your finger for candy. The way he was acting, however, didn't help the situation. "Murasakibara-san, it's late. You should head home now," you said simply.
Atsushi covered his face with his hand, retorting, "W-Well, why are you here?!"
"Mai-san told me you were still here, so I went to look for you to make sure you don't get locked in on campus," you stood to your feet, getting ready to climb down the ladder. You looked at him once again, and you hesitantly asked - almost shyly, "So...
"Were you having a sweet dream?"
Murasakibara looked away. "D-Don't ask such useless questions."
You blinked innocently, then climbed down.
OMAKE:
The two of you silently walked down the street, arriving at your house. "You didn't have to walk me home," you insisted gently but nevertheless tilting your head in gratitude towards the basketball player. "You should hurry before you miss the train."
Murasakibara watched you as you unlocked the gate and walked in. Before you closed the door, though, he suddenly called out to you.
"(f/n)-san!"
You turned around, but all he could see was your silhouette against the bright light of your house.
"Sweet dreams!"
-
OMAKE 2:
"So you did end up going home eventually," Mai sighed the next morning as the two of you walked to school. "Haah, I thought he wouldn't wake up or you wouldn't find him, and it'd be all romantic and such! (f/n)cchi wasted her opportunity!!!"
You frowned in slight confusion - since you were pretty dense - but before you could question what she meant, you bumped into someone. "Ah, sorry...oh, Murasakibara-san," you noticed, helping him pick up his book.
"(f/n)-san..."
You smiled gently at him. "Good morning, Atsushi-kun," you greeted before walking off with Mai.
Am I still dreaming...?
