You are Michael Italiano's (Daniel's personal trainer) sister but have nothing to do with racing besides watching the races. You met Daniel way back when Michael and him started working together and you became friends. But since a couple of years, you started to feel for Daniel more than for him to be just a friend.

Christmas was nearing and all you wanted was to be able to celebrate it with your family, including your brother. You were able to go and see your parents, but Michael had been gone all year for the racing season.

Of course, you got used to it as it had been gone for racing seasons for the last ten years, but this was going to be the second Christmas you were not going to see him around.
Australia had gone into lockdown yet again and barely let any people in, to prevent more covid infected people getting into the country.
You were honestly so done with this whole situation. Of course, you understood the reasons behind the decisions made, but it was starting to hurt.
Family had always been your number one priority and were always tight with your brother, so it was safe for you to say that you felt an emptiness inside.
Over time, you had also gotten closer to your brother's friend, Daniel. Michael had been his personal trainer for all this time, and you caught feelings for the fellow Australian in the last few years.
The three of you always got along and you could say that Daniel had become your friend as well. Your feelings only started forming in the winter break of 2019. The feelings were mutual and you knew, but there had never really been a chance to start dating.
At the beginning of the pandemic, Daniel and Michael both moved into Daniel's apartment in Monaco, so you were starting to see them less and less. You went on a couple race weeks alongside your brother, tested through and through, and in that way you were able to see Daniel too.
You snuck into his hotel room when he was free, so that the two of you had some time alone. Those were the times as close to a date you had been able to have. It didn't really bother you. Of course you would have prefered to go out for dates sometimes, but if this was the only way, so be it.
The only problem was that you wanted to keep what was going on between the two of you hidden from your brother, as either of you were still unsure of what you were. The secret stayed silent, and you never really got the chance to tell Michael.
And in all fairness, there was nothing much to tell. Daniel and you still weren't a thing after two years. Sometimes you felt like giving up on him, but every time you tried to cut him out of your life, he came right back into it. There was no possibility of avoiding him. And every day that you saw his smiley face you couldn't help it, but feel warm and fuzzy inside.
You missed seeing his face and your brother in real life. Right now, that was all you were longing for.
Your apartment felt cold and empty, even though it was blazing hot due to the summer season and your space was cozily furnished. You had called your parents this morning to tell them they could spend Christmas Day at yours and go to the beach as you were practically living near it. Luckily, they hadn't made any plans for that day yet, so you were at least able to see them. You knew you were late with planning Christmas, but that was what you were to do best: procrastinating everything.
The festivities were only five days away, but your parents knew you well enough to know you would call them last minute to make plans. You smiled at the thought of how well they knew you, but shortly got pulled out of your thoughts when you heard your doorbell ringing.
You hadn't ordered any food nor were you expecting a package, so you were a little suspicious. In the times of lockdown nobody would come over to each other to have a drink anymore, so when you saw two people through your peephole, you were gassed.
The door swung open and revealed a shocked you not knowing what to say. Those were your brother and your lover right in front of your house, and you.
You practically flew into your brother's arms. Even though those were not the covid protocols, you didn't care at that moment. He watched your face and noticed that tears were trickling down your cheeks. He wiped them off and took your face in his hands. "I've missed you so much, small bean."
A wide smile appeared on your face after hearing that nickname, but it also caused more tears to go down your face. You hid your face into his chest for a minute, but pulled yourself together.
"I missed you so much, I felt like dying to be honest..." you started and bit your lip. Some days had gotten real dark and the last part of her sentence could be taken quite literally in those times. "But how did you get into the country?" you continued your talking, totally taken by surprise.
"We got our second vaccination two weeks ago, so it is completely in our bodies. Then did a covid test at all three airports to be sure. Then had to come up with a very good reason at Perth airport." the other voice spoke and you perked your head up to look over your brother's shoulder and met the absolutely beautiful eyes of Daniel.
You let go of Michael and skipped over to the other man, approaching him much calmer but your hug was tighter, or at least different, than it had been with Michael, and he seemed to notice it too.
He fused his eyebrows and a queistioning gaze met Daniel's eyes. He looked back with an innocent face and quickly set his attention back on you.
"I missed you a lot, y/n." he whispered and he kissed the top of your head. He wasn't even trying to hide the fact that he was showing affection to you in front of his personal trainer, who also happened to be your brother.
"You have no idea of how much I have missed you, Dan." you replied softly. You didn't want to let go but you knew you were going to have to, as you felt the eyes of Michael burning in your back.
Michael was confused, to say the least. He knew that his sister and Daniel were friends, but he never realised they were this close? And so he spoke up about his many questions popping up in his head. "I'm sorry, but did I miss something?"
"Uhm, we have been kind of dating..." you muttered, barely hearable for Michael who was standing only a couple of meters away from the pair, but he heard her loud and clear.
"I-. What? Since when?"
Irritation was hearable in his voice, though he didn't mean to do so. He didn't know what to think. Daniel protectively stood next to you, wrapping his arm around your shoulders. It was a comforting feeling.
"Hey man, I like her a lot. Can you try to mind your tone?" he replied, giving Michael a hint of how he had sounded and made him realise that it hadn't sounded very happy.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to sound irritated. I just didn't know. Since when has this been going on? I mean you're my sister and my best friend, I feel like I have the right to know when they are dating..." He realised how stupid he must have sounded, but really there were just a lot of emotions going on in his body right now that were not giving him the time to think about what he was going to say properly.
A small smile appeared on his face though. He loved either one of you and the thought of you being together kind of felt right to him. He wanted you to be happy of course. You hadn't been the luckiest in love and got your heart broken a couple of times. Daniel was a good man, and he knew that he was able to take good care of you.
"I started liking him in like 2019, in the winter break as well. We didn't go on a "date" until like the summer of 2020 though." you explained to him also making the quotation marks when you said date, as it hadn't been a date for real.
You felt a little more at ease after you saw the smile on your brother's face. He meant well and you knew that, but sometimes he could come of a little rude and abrupt when emotion got high.
"2019..." he stammered. "That's a long ass time."
"We didn't tell you because we both didn't really know how we felt at the time, and then it never got to it. We're sorry you had to find out like this." Daniel said with an apologetic voice, but he too knew that it was alright with Michael, as he had seen him relax and the tension had left the ambience.
Michael simply nodded. "I understand. It's okay and I am happy for both of you. Just don't get her pregnant yet." He winked at Daniel and gave you a warning look that was playful at the same time.
"Jesus, Mike, we are not even together yet." you exclaimed with widened eyes. Both of the guys started laughing at your statement.
Daniel petted your head and then let go of you. "Don't worry Michael. I need to have her to love me first."
You looked at him in awe, a blush spreading across your face and you silently held the door for them to get in and avoid further conversations. Your brother and Daniel were going to be a pain in your butt for their whole stay, and you needed to mentally prepare yourself for that.
