Chapter Twenty-One
"Jorgina? Jorgina Unique?" I said her name. "I am Jorgie Special, and with me is Calvin Hum. He really is Humor in human form."
Introducing ourselves to her caught the girl's attention. She scrambled to her feet and spun around to see us. Her eyes widened, and she covered her mouth.
"Holy mackerel," she said. "Do my eyes deceive me? You are the characters that I wrote in my Forlot fanfictions. I have to know. Are you a couple?"
"I sure hope so," Calvin replied. "Jorgie and I have kissed I do not know how many times."
"That is great to hear. I shipped you two in all my fanfictions because it was perfect and cute."
Jorgina's blonde hair was curly like mine and in two ponytails. The space under her eyeballs and above her nose was covered with freckles. She wore a yellow, sleeveless dress that was decorated with orange flowers and paired the dress with orange heels that touched her knees. She seemed sweet, and she was.
"What is a girl as beautiful as you doing in a place like this?" I asked her.
Jorgina let out a whoosh of air through her nose. "It was not my first choice. I wish that I was home and playing games with my family, but..." She hesitated before continuing. "...that is impossible now."
"Why do you say that? Wait a minute. Did your family send you here?"
She sniffed and wiped her nose. "How could they have sent me to this horrible and scary place when they are all dead?"
Calvin and I stared at each other, and I had a feeling that we were wondering the same thing. How would we respond to such a tragedy? And how did her family pass away?
As if Jorgina could read our thoughts, she said, "It was me. I killed them. But it was not my fault. I swear!"
