Chapter Thirty-Two

I did not care about Slapi's remarks because I was too concerned for my innocent girlfriend. How was she doing? Was she alive...or dead?

Would she forgive me?

Do not be silly, Caleb. Of course, Cindy would forgive you. If she truly loves you, she would believe that it was an accident.

"Cindy!"

Somehow, I found enough strength to scramble out of bed, pull the tape and wires off my skin, and run up to her frozen, purple and black body. Tears streamed down my cheeks and covered my face, and because these tears were from my powers, they stung my skin a little. But I could care less if I was hurt. I would rather be the one hurt than my kindhearted girlfriend.

"Cindy..." I sniffed and put my shaking hands on either side of her face. "...Cindy...it should have been me...not you. I am so sorry..."

I heard a gasp, a female gasp, and peered over Cindy's frozen shoulder. It was my sister, Joan. She was standing in the doorway and seemed frightened.

Was she frightened of me? Did she think that I would hurt her?

"Oh, no," Joan said. "You did it again."

I backed away from Cindy. "I did not mean to do this to her, sis. I swear."

She stepped into the room and stood next to the Cindy statue. "It is alright, Caleb. We can fix this."

"How?"

"There are some Forlot characters who have the same powers as yours. The reason that Cindy and I were able to unfreeze is because Ava surprisingly and thankfully freed us using her powers."

I was stunned. "T-that is nice of her...I-I think."

"Cindy will be free as soon as we locate a person who will be happy to undo what you have done."

"Let us hope so. Cindy does not deserve this suffering."

"You do not deserve any of this either, Caleb."

I put my hands on the windowsill. "I...I am a monster..."

"Do not even start that, brother of mine."

I glanced at my bed - and did not spot Slapi. Not by my bed. Not hiding behind the machines.

He had vanished.

I shut my eyes tight and could feel my powers flowing from my palms. I heard Joan mumbling something, but did not make it out. Not even a second later, my sister commanded me to open my eyes, and I did.

I was both fearful and ashamed at what I was greeted by.

The room. Although, it looked more like Room 13 now. Excluding me, everything inside the room was covered with my powers. Purple and black liquid. From the bed and machines to the ceiling, floor, and walls, and the ceiling was dripping with liquid.

I stared straight at my sister, and thank the Lord from above that Joan was fine. She did not end up like Cindy.

"Why are you not frozen?" I asked her.

"I am not standing on it," she responded. "But your powers are creeping on me and could very well spread through the hallway. Heck, throughout the entire hospital!"

"No...no!"

"Caleb! Caleb. Calm down. Please. Your powers are getting faster."

"What do you want me to do?! I cannot stop them!"

Joan gripped the doorknob. "Just...just stay in this room until further notice." She slammed the door, leaving me all alone with me and the powers that I never wanted.

My powers were getting stronger, and I was getting more fearful.

"You are a monster, Caleb! I am offended that you even are one."

"I am not a monster!" I snapped. "The only monsters are people who act like you!"

I stomped my foot on the floor, and the black and purple mix appeared from under my shoe and did not stop there. My powers stretched beyond me. Beyond my anti and the feminists and media warriors.

"No, no, no!" I cried.

It was happening again. My powers were covering every inch of the room. The walls. The ceilings. I cowered in fear, remembering when Cindy and Joan transformed into purple and black statues.

I examined Anti-Caleb - and became confused. He was standing on the black and purple mix. And yet he was fine. He never did transform into a hideous statue.

I pointed a shaking finger at him. "How...?"

My anti chuckled. "How am I not freezing in place? Simple. I have the same powers as you. Anyone who shares the same powers as yours cannot be harmed because it counteracts with theirs."

I began sobbing as I slid to the floor and curled into a ball. "I am a monster...even before I got these stupid powers..."

I glanced up at the window that was completely black and purple and relaxed. I had an idea on how I could fix this. I mean, I was unable to set the room and my girlfriend to their rightful places, however, what I could do would hopefully solve all our problems.

I climbed back on my feet and used my powers to open the window. The window slid open, and I created a set of purple and black stairs that led from the window to solid ground. The stairs transformed to wood, and I carefully made my way to the ground. When I reached the grass, I took one last look at the hospital before fleeing to Silver Woods.

I ran and ran and ran and never looked back. I entered Silver Woods and stopped minutes later. I leaned against a tree, catching my breath, and massaged my legs. I was tired, but knew that I had to keep going.

To where? I was unsure.

Just as I was about to flee from my rest stop, I heard something. The rustling of leaves, and it was getting louder and louder.

I stayed frozen, and the hairs on both my head and arms stood.

"W-who is there?" I stuttered. "Show yourself! I am not afraid...I think."
