Chapter Eight

You readers should be glad that I checked on Ada because she was in trouble. Apparently, she was wanted, as I saw the wanted posters on poles and doors, by the overlord of LotFor, and since that I was a smart boy, I knew why.

At the time, LotFor was ruled by sin and evil, and the only people who opposed them were the good. More specifically, Christians. God is good after all.

What is that? You do not like me discussing about God and Jesus and Christians? Too bad. It would be wise if you respected my beliefs, and if that is a problem, then you are more than welcome to close this book and never read a Forlot book, or any of Ash's books for that matter, again.

I disagree with atheists, gays, lesbians, transgenders, genderless, feminists, and religions because Christianity is not a religion. But hear me out now that I do not hate any of these groups. There is a difference between hating and not supporting.

While we are on the subject of feminism, I should make it clear that if it was not obvious to you, both my parents and Cindy's parents were hardcore feminists. By that, I mean that they ask - no, demand - that "my kind," who are straight, white, males, and Christians be obsolete. This is one of the reasons - no, the only reason - why men are afraid of commitment towards women.

If you are a feminist that only wants equality for both women and men, that is great. If you are a feminist that wants certain women to be superior over certain men, such as myself, you are more blinded than a bat.

My apologies if you are on my side and do not like me bringing this all up, however, it had to be told. I am just sick of being a slave towards all groups just because the Lord created me to be a white male.

Ava, I mean Ada, was like me in every way. She was awkward and an inventor and had severe anxiety. I felt sorry for her. She did not deserve to be hidden from a world that hated her for who she was.

Heh. Sounds like the real world.

I did not have to wander far from Ada's hiding place, and you want to know why? Take a guess. I have been tested to be patient in the past and am practically an expert!

Did I know the name of the shop? No. Did I peer into each shop and recognize the inside? Nada. Was it the only shop in LotFor? Not even close!

Get this. Anti-Joan's store was across the corner from where Ada and I turned to. So when I found the way out of the hideaway, the first thing that I saw was the shop.

I crawled on my hands and knees and hid between two trash bins. I examined what I would be dealing with...and was horrified by the scene.

The store was called Joan's Foods and Crafts. The double doors were closed, and there was a wanted poster of Ada on one of them. But it was not until I peered through the tall and narrow window that I was sent into ape mode.

Anti-Joan was nowhere in her store. There was just Ada. Alone in the building...with a tub of toothpaste reaching the ceiling.

I knew that it was toothpaste because it looked like mine. I ran from my hiding spot and to the double doors and attempted to open them. Just my luck. Both doors were locked.

Did Anti-Joan lock the doors? Did she leave Ada in there with toothpaste to sink into and die?

I banged on the doors with my fists. "Ada!"

Ada was crouching down on a round table that was floating on the ocean of toothpaste. She made contact with me and waved her arms frantically in the air. I could hear her begging for me to help her.

"You have to get me far away from all this toothpaste, Caleb! I am scared of toothpaste."

"So am I!" I called back. "Though, not as much as I used to be."

"It is wonderful that you faced your fear."

"Yes, it is. It feels like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders."

"So could you please swim and save me?"

"I wish, but I cannot. The doors are locked. But do not fret. There is another option."

"Really? What is it?"

"You are going to have to face this fear and swim through the toothpaste."

"What?! Are you nuts?!"

"No. I am chocolate." I laughed at my own joke. "Get it? 'Cause nuts and chocolate are foods?"

"Caleb..."

"Sorry. Just jump in the toothpaste and swim through it. Hold your breath and make your way to these doors."

"Nope! Nada. I am not going in that goo. Besides, the doors are locked."

"I can break the glass."

"And how will you do that? You cannot just throw anything at the glass."

"Yes, I can!"

I returned to the two bins and lifted one up, sliding my fingers under the bottom. I gritted my teeth and tried raising it from the ground. Alas, I was weak. Too weak. And I also remembered to not strain my brain.

I gave up and set the bin back down. Now what was I going to do?

As if the person standing behind me the entire time had read my mind, she said, "I would be happy to tell you what to do. First, put your hands in the air."

I did so without hesitation. My teeth chattered.

"Now turn around nice and easy."

I slowly turned myself around and managed to hold in both my anxiety and panics.

"You must be Caleb. From the other dimension," Anti-Joan said. She had her ray gun pointing at me. "You are coming with me, young man. I am bringing you to him."
