Chapter Twenty-One

Have you ever received bad news? You lost a loved one? You got a zero on your final? Whatever bad news you have heard of, nothing compares to hearing that Anti-Lean was coming.

If you guessed that Lean's anti was evil, you would be on the right track, but that, my friends, is not why you should fear her. It is the same reason that you fear the original Lean Share.

What is that? None of you readers are scared of Lean Share? Not wise, and that is coming from a character who is close friends with her.

The ghost girl is no bad guy, however, she does know her way around, and like Ava Campbell, she is a great fighter and can take down even the strongest of both heroes and villains. I should also warn you that she is not fond of real worlders, and that is our Lubriem's fault.

Considering the antis that I had run into, I was convinced that Anti-Lean would be a match for Lean and horrifying and...and...

Another ghost floated in and was similar to Lean with some minor differences. Her skin was dark blue, and so was her hair. Her dress was purple, and her bracelets were orange. But her presence was not what caught me off guard.

Remember back in book one when Lean's eyeballs were missing, and she and Margie went on a mission to retrieve them? I, as well as you fans, should have known that the anti would be missing a body part too. But unlike Lean, her anti was hideous without her missing piece.

"Gosh," I said. "You..."

"Do not say it," Anti-Lean commanded me.

"...are missing..."

"Do not make me strangle you."

"...your nose."

So much for being polite.

"Ugh!" Anti-Lean said. "You are just like the others!" She lunged at me. "I will murder you!"

"Stop!" my ghost friend yelled. She got in front me, protecting me, and punched her...um...in the area with two holes.

The anti cried bloody murder and floated to the ground. She covered the holes with her ghostly palm. "You...you could have punched me anywhere else. But no! Not good enough for you!"

Lean shrugged her shoulders. "Sorry. It was not my intention to hurt you there. I had to act fast."

"Enough with your stupid playing. This is not a playground!" Anti-Caleb shrieked to turn our attentions back to him. "Anti-Lean, I ordered you to defeat your anti, not mine. Now stop crying like a baby and chop to it!"

Anti-Lean glared at her ruler as she floated back up and removed her palm from her holes. "You want me to chop to it, huh? Like what you allowed Dr. Maxwell to do to my nose?"

"Pfft!" He rolled his eyes. "We have been over this, Lean. I never told Dr. Maxwell to chop off your nose. He did it on his own terms, and do not let your boyfriend off the hook!"

"Bull!" She slammed her ghostly hands on the desk, and the desk rumbled. "You know as well as I do that Ironic was not in his state of mind! He was being controlled for the sake of good!"

"Ava attempted to control him. It is her fault that you were unfortunately separated from your nose."

"Now is our chance to slip out and return to the comforts of Forlot," Lean said softly to me.

"R-right now?" I sputtered. "B-but..."

She tugged me away from the argument and forced me down the stairs. The last that I both saw and heard was Anti-Lean getting ahold of Anti-Caleb's cape and demanding where her nose was.

We reached the bottom of the stairs and were met with two of Anti-Caleb's guards, Wendow and Triso. They were wearing black jumpsuits and high heels and aiming their ray guns at us.

"I thought that I smelled an intruder," Anti-Wendow commented.

"You two are not getting out of here without fighting us," Anti-Triso stated.

"Fighting, you say?" the ghost said. "Usually, I would be honored to fight, but seeing that I am in a bit of a hurry...bye!"

She squeezed my hand, turning me invisible, and we floated through a closed window and to solid ground. She loosened her grip on me, and I became visible again.

I felt myself all over. "That was cool!"

"Thank you," Lean thanked.

"Why did we not just float through the office wall? And why did you use a door?"

"I like to use logic sometimes."

"Ah. Okay."

"Come on. We need to go back to Forlot."

My eyes widened, and I gasped. "I cannot go home."

"Let me guess. Your sister and girlfriend, as well as Ava and Mary Sue, are here."

"Yes. They came for me. How did you know?"

Your two cousins and son told me. They are here too."

"You mean...Collin, Cameron, and Cal are in LotFor?"

"I can take you to them, and the five of us can search for Joan, Cindy, Ava, and Mary Sue."

"Really? Thank you very much. That would be fantastic."

Before either of us could wander off, we heard two two sets of footsteps close to us and a female voice.

"Stay where you are."

I spotted the young boy and young girl and said, "Hansel? Gretel?"

"Not our Hansel and Gretel," my friend pointed out.

Anti-Hansel's hair was dark. So was Anti-Gretel's. They wore the same pieces of clothing. Camouflage, short-sleeved shirts, beige pants, and brown boots. They were pointing guns - real guns! - at us and had their fingers on the triggers.

"You are under arrest..." Anti-Hansel commented. "...for being...um...you. "My sister and I are taking you two into custody."

I shuddered in fear, and Lean tilted her ghostly head towards the purple sky and started counting for some reason.

"One...two...three."

Then Anti-Mary Sue showed up.
