Chapter Twenty

I felt like facepalming, but thought better of it. It was bad enough that all the real worlders had no choice in the matter to be involved with Mary Sue's ridiculous game. Now she was getting Ash J. involved in the mess? Seriously?

I gave Mary Sue a sickening glare. "If you knew how our writer really felt, you would not be here in the real world and murdering every real worlder that you lay eyes on."

Mary Sue put on an innocent look. Though, it was anything but innocent. "Cassandra, you should know what I am."

"A mentally ill patient. That is what you are."

"Actually, you have it backwards, Cassandra. The real worlders are the ones who are mentally ill, not me. They are evil and greedy and do not do good things for the Lord."

"You cannot say that."

"Why? Will the snowflakes be easily offended?"

"No. You cannot just judge a population by the action of a few. That is like saying that you hate all Christians because a so-called 'Christian' calls you something inappropriate. It is unfair."

"First of all, there are more than a few evildoers. Second of all, it has been scientifically proven that all real worlders are evil and unnecessary."

"By who?"

"By me and Libby and some other Forlot characters who could care less about the real worlders."

I rolled my eyes. I should have known that she would say something like that.

"In all honestly, Cassandra, I am not doing this for us or for me or even for the Lord," she continued. "I am only doing this for our writer."

I came closer to her and poked her hard in the middle of her chest with my finger. "Do not bring Ash J. into this. She has nothing to do with your destruction and does not want the real worlders to die."

She let out a giggle. It was a chilling one at that. "You are correct."

I was a bit surprised that she admitted that I was right and lowered my arm. "You...you agree with me on something?"

"Absolutely. I would agree with you more if those pesky real worlders did not have you in their clutches." She cleared her throat. "Ash J. has no idea that I am doing this. She still thinks that I am in Forlot and on my best behavior. Think of it as a present." She sighed happily. "When she finds out and sees for herself that there are no more real worlders, she will be speechless."

"Oh, she will be speechless," I said sarcastically.

Our stomachs suddenly growled at the same time, and Mary Sue rubbed hers. She remarked how this killing spree was making her hungry and decided to take a break and get a bite to eat.

"There is a small restaurant not too far from here if you would like to join me, Cassandra." She ran past me and was about to push open the store's front door.

"Mary Sue, wait."

She halted in her tracks and turned her body around. "Yes?"

"How about we make a deal?"

"A deal, you say? What kind of deal?"

"A bet. And it all comes down to our writer."
