Chapter Thirty-Six
Are you readers still there? Excellent. Things just became juicy, and I am not talking about an actual drink.
The article clearly stated that Katrina was a liar and a manipulator. She used people whom she surrounded herself with, such as her family and friends, to get what her dark heart desired. The article also confessed that she had a huge crush on Dr. Maxwell and wanted them to be together forever.
Unfortunately for her, Dr. Maxwell did not share the same feelings for her. Typical. He only thought of her as his helper and nothing more. However, that did not stop Katrina from wanting them to be a couple and hopefully get married. She would do whatever he wanted in order meet his approval.
You readers may be asking, "What about her boss? Katrina and her boss are supposed to be in a relationship."
Good question. Remember when I brought up that Katrina was a manipulator? She was manipulating her boss. Using him until she got what she wanted. Or should I say, what Dr. Maxwell wanted. Dr. Maxwell desired to take control of the company that Katrina's boss had control over. Once they were close to that goal, Katrina would murder her boss in cold blood.
When I finished telling Mary Sue the highlights of the article, she was stunned. "Jeez," she said. "And the fans thought that I was evil."
"You are not evil. You are mentally ill," I corrected her. "And you are not mentally ill yet. We are in the past."
"Oh, yeah. My bad. With so many things occurring in this series, I keep losing track."
I glanced at the computer screen, and then back at the paper in my hands. I opened the folder and was going to put the article back in, but I stopped myself. This piece of paper was too juicy to let go of and forget. I closed the folder and folded the paper.
"What are you doing, Ada?" Mary Sue demanded.
"I do not know what I am going to do with this, but I will do something with it." I shoved the folded paper in the pocket of my pants.
"Are we taking it to the police in the next town over? That would be the best option."
"Please, Mary Sue. I will not get the police invol—"
"What are you two doing at my work desk?" a female voice interrupted.
Mary Sue and I glanced up at the woman who was standing on the other side of the desk. It was Katrina. And she looked ticked.
