Chapter Thirty-Four
As you readers probably already figured, I was whisked away to LotFor for a second time. Jorgie's anti brought me to a large area that was separated from all of the other buildings and set me down. The floor and walls were both blue, and a giant hole was in the middle.
"Why can you antis not leave me alone?" I whined. "I have my own life to live and do not desire to waste it."
Anti-Jorgie put metal handcuffs on my wrists that were attached to the wall and muttered, "Serious talk for such a white male."
"Not you too..."
"Aw, relax. I am just messing with you. But seriously, why do the real worlders hate you?"
"Let us get something straight..." My voice trailed off once she rose. I scanned her from top to bottom. "Not to be rude or anything because I am one of the few men who respect women, but what the heck happened to you?"
Unlike with the other antis, you can easily tell her and the original Jorgie apart. I bet that you do not remember when Jorgie's arms and legs were supposed to be amputated while she was in a coma. That was way back in book five. Thankfully, she woke up from her coma before the amputation process.
Anti-Jorgie...not so much.
It was clear that Anti-Jorgie's arms and legs were amputated and replaced by robot parts. Even her left eye was replaced by a robot eye with a large, red pupil.
Oh, wait. That is where the laser comes from.
The bottoms of her shirt and pants were ripped, and her hair was in two long, curly ponytails. She scowled at me and demanded why I was staring at her like that.
"My apologies," I said. "You must get a ton people staring at you a lot."
She clenched her robot hands into fists. "I am used to it. I have learned to shrug it off and move on with my life."
"Good for you. Ah!"
She sent one of her robot fists straight to my face. I shut my eyes tight and prayed that the Lord from above would save me.
I waited. Waited for the metal to kill me or at least break every bone in my face. I waited for two seconds. Two more.
"Open your eyes, dimwit."
"Huh?" My eyes fluttered open, and I saw the anti clutching her wrist with her other hand. She looked at me, and her robot eye glowed.
"What did you say earlier?" Anti-Jorgie questioned me. "After I told you that I am used to being a freak."
"Uh...I believe that I was proud of you for not listening to ignorant people. And then I screamed."
"That is what I thought." She grabbed me by my shirt. "Give it to me straight...straight male. Why did you say what you said? Why did you not mock me and call me a loser?" Her face saddened. "Everybody does..."
"Aw. Do not be sad. You should be blessed that you are alive and have robot parts. There are many people in the world who would love to have a robot arm or robot leg."
She let go of my shirt. "And they would be fine with their families and friends calling them freaks?"
I could not help but smile. What can I say? I am what every Christian should be.
"I would rather be a freak than be normal," I stated proudly. "If being a freak means to be a good person and a child of the Lord, then I am a freak."
At that moment, another person walked in, and of course, it was an anti. She had long, brown hair that was flowing behind her and was wearing an orange, long-sleeved shirt, black pants, and low heels.
Can you guess whose anti it is?
"You caught him, Jorgie. Good work. Caleb will be more than grateful."
"Thank you, Margie."
"Margie?!" I blurted out. "Anti-Margie?"
Anti-Margie walked up to Anti-Jorgie. "That is correct, little man."
I slowly narrowed my eyebrows. "I suppose that you did not bring me here for a tea party."
"Actually, we have, Caleb. We just do not need the essentials." She leaned forward and tugged on my sleeve.
My face was immediately drenched in sweat. "What do you mean by essentials...?"
"You know. A table. A teapot. Teacups. Fake tea. We got you, and that is plenty."
"I hope that you do not mind me being less appreciated."
Anti-Margie walked to a hi-tech computer and began typing on it. Anti-Jorgie looked at me. Then back at her. It seemed like that she was pondering.
"M-Margie?"
"Yes, Jorgie?"
"I...I think that we should return Caleb to Forlot."
"You mean assist Caleb in going to Forlot and taking over that sorry excuse for a town."
"Not our Caleb." Anti-Jorgie got down on her knees and yanked off the cuffs with those strong, metal arms and hands of hers. "There you go, Caleb."
That was totally unexpected.
Anti-Margie shifted her body towards us. "Jorgie! What did you do?!"
Jorgie's anti helped me to my feet. "I freed him and am going to return him to Forlot myself."
"Why the crub would you do such a thing? We are evil!"
"Not everyone is evil! Some...some of us...are misunderstood."
"Where is this coming from?"
Anti-Jorgie nudged me with her elbow. I let out a yelp and rubbed my side.
Why in the world she did...oh...
I stepped up to Anti-Margie and opened my mouth to speak, but she pushed a button on the keyboard. The ceiling opened two small holes, and ropes came down and dangled above the giant hole.
People were tied up and dangling from the ropes, and I could not believe who I was seeing.
It was them! The people whom my anti despised and the main characters!
