Chapter Twenty-Four
I opened my mouth to respond, but my boyfriend told Jorgina to excuse us and pulled me away from her. I asked if there was something wrong.
"I know what you are thinking, Jorgie."
"You do?"
"Of course. I am one of your emotions after all. The very one who could lend you a helping hand when it came to anxiety." He took both of my hands into his. "You were going to ask her how she got pregnant."
This may come as a surprise to some of you readers, but despite the fact that I am a princess and have Tenomeya, I was clueless about where babies come from. In my defense, I am eleven years old. Jorga is old enough to know of it, but I was apparently not.
"We can discuss more on this topic later when Forlot is not a war zone," Calvin stated. "But I will tell you where babies really come from. If you are old enough to have a boyfriend and save the townsfolk from Fear, then I see no reason why you should not know yet."
I squealed softly and clapped my hands. He moved his face close to my ear and whispered. As he was explaining it to me, I could not help but cringe. It was so disturbing that I had to cover my mouth to keep from gagging. When he was finished, I remarked that I would never have a child of my own and wished that babies would come from outer space.
Calvin planted a kiss on my cheek. "I promise that you will change your mind when you are older. At least, I hope so."
"Jorgie? Calvin?" Jorgina called to us. "Sorry for interrupting your conversation, but could we please get this show on the road? I have waited to see Carter for far too long."
I coughed to clear my throat. "Yes, Jorgina. We will head out right now."
Calvin and I led Jorgina to the back door where we came from, and Calvin opened the door a crack and checked to see if Covid-19, Flu, and Stupidity were in the area. He confirmed that the coast was clear and flung the door open, and the three of us ran as fast as we could to the hospital. Luckily for us, the hospital was only a couple blocks from the asylum.
You will never believe who we ran into when we entered the hospital. A group of people was in the waiting room. Unless Fear decided to not trap them in fear bubbles, it was weird to see people not in black bubbles. However, the reason as to why that was the case became as plain as day when a little girl jumped out of her chair and hurried over to us.
At first, I did not understand why she seemed so familiar. Then it hit me when she wrapped her little arms around me and said my name. It was the girl with the bell.
"Jorgie! You are back!" She rested her head on my stomach. "I missed you so much."
I hugged her back and patted her head. "I am happy to see you...um, we really should give you a name."
"How about the name Brianna?" Jorgina suggested. "I was planning on calling my baby Brianna if it is a girl, but I came up with a better one."
"Good idea, Jorgina. A beautiful name for a beautiful girl." I looked at the little girl. "Do you like Brianna?"
"I love it," she said. "I will never forget it."
I glanced back at the waiting room and saw recognizable faces smiling at me. Common Sense, Charity, Faith, Hope, Margie, Scarlett, Nigel, Hansel, and Gretel. The gang was all here.
"Are we glad to run into you, Jorgie," Margie said. "And you and Calvin found your way back to each other."
"We were concerned what Fear might do to you, so we voted to find you," Scarlett added.
"Then why are you at the hospital?" I questioned. Did you think that I was somewhere in the hospital?"
"We came here to hide from those viruses," Nigel stated. "They were in this area not long ago."
"We are just glad that you all are alright," Calvin said.
Common Sense floated to Calvin and hugged him ever so tightly. "Thank gosh that Jorgie found you safe and sound. I was worried sick about you." He eyed Jorgina. "Who is your new friend that reminds me of Jorgie?"
"I am Jorgina Unique," Jorgina introduced herself. "I have Tayanna, so do not touch me because I am contagious."
"That explains why you are wearing a face mask," Hope said.
"I should also have on one of those protective suits, but they surprisingly do not supply them at the mental asylum."
"How do you know that?" Hansel asked. "Do you work there?" His eyes widened. "Or...dare I say it...are you a patient?"
She slowly nodded. "Unfortunately. But I am not like the other patients. I am not a killer or mentally ill. My Tayanna produces every disease and condition from the real world and infects not only the host, but those surrounding the host."
"You poor thing," Gretel said. "That sounds scary."
"It is scary. I am scared every second of every day." She sighed heavily. "Anyway, I am here because the love of my life has been in this place for so many months. We have not been able to see each other." She turned to me. "Will you please help me find him, Jorgie?"
"Sure," I replied. "I would be more than happy to."
Margie got up. "I will come with you two."
I smiled at her. "That is nice of you, Margie, but because of Jorgina's Tayanna, I think that Jorgina and I should do this by ourselves. The less, the better."
Margie walked up to me and whispered, "I need to come with you. I found Caleb and Cindy in bubbles."
