Chapter Nineteen
How could we decline such an offer? And I know what you are thinking, readers. We barely knew Victoria Victorian. How could Jason and I trust her? What if she was working against us and leading us into a trap? Those were good things to consider, however, what else could Jason and I do? And what if she was telling the truth? What if she knew where the puppets were keeping Ashlee?
Victoria put on her blue cape and held her trailer door open for us...and was floating while doing it. I stared at her as Jason and I passed her and stepped back outside.
"What are you looking at?" Victoria said in a demanding tone. It was directed at me.
"Sorry. My bad," I apologized. "I am just wondering why you are hovering."
She let out a cry of frustration. "Ugh!"
"Did...did I make you mad?"
"I am not mad at you, kid." She slammed the trailer door and floated to the ground. "You would think that not using my powers for two weeks would make my brain forget about them."
"You have powers?"
"Every power that you could ever imagine. However, I made a promise to myself that I would never use them again."
"Why not? Does it have to do with the park shutting down?"
"My backstory is not important. What is important is that I get you and your brother—"
"He is my best friend."
"My mistake. It is important that you and your friend see Ashlee. I am not sure what those puppets are up to, but whatever it is, I have a bad feeling that it is anything but good."
"Then what are we waiting for? We need to get a move on!"
Victoria ran until she was in front of us and motioned for us to follow her lead. We did with no hesitation, and she asked what our names are.
"My name is Brandon."
"I am Jason, and the only reason that I am here is because Brandon dragged me along for the adventure."
"You boys should be blessed that you ran into me," Victoria said. "I can protect you from all sorts of dangers."
I gulped. "What dangers does Territory of Terror hold?"
Before she could answer my question, a figure jumped out from behind a tent nearby, startling us. I could not believe my eyes and pointed at the figure.
"What are you doing here?!"
