Obnoxious much?

Chapter 10
“Curses have power if you believe in it.”

Well, the twins would have a perfect day if someone else didn’t show up and intrigued them.

“Miku, Luka! I’m surprised to see you both together at a time like this.” Rin said with an unusual amused smile on her face.

“Fancy meeting you guys in this place.” Len said and joined her sister who sat at the twin’s table.

“Well, we are certainly not pleased to see you two in this place. Aren’t you supposed to be at the studio recording a new album?” Miku spat.

“Whoa, I’m picking up some attitude, Miku. What’s up?” Rin asked and took a macaroon from their plate.

“Well, for the fact you didn’t tell us that you invited our parents plus you had so many evil guys in the party, waiting to beat us up, why won’t I be pissed off with you two?” Miku knew the twins well. They were a pair of evil kids trying everything to keep themselves amused.

“I told you it was a bad idea.” Len pointed out to her sister but Rin returned a scowl on him.

“If I knew better, You were amused while looking down on them at from the captain’s place, Len.” Rin bit back and faced Miku. “It wasn’t us who invited your parents and placed them on the guest list. Our parents were keeping in touch with yours from the time you two were left with your own devices.”

Miku wasn’t sure she trust the words of the girl but seeing her speak like that, she couldn’t deny some of it was true. Well, she just knows it was true.

“Say, what are you two u to this time. Seeing Hatsune like this, you’re starting to get under my skin as well.” Luka spoke up and pointed a teaspoon at the twins.

“Nothing much. We passed by, hopping to get some shakes and we saw you two. We were planning to infiltrate someone’s party.” Len said and nudged his sister.

“Yeah, someone from our school is throwing a big party tonight and we thought, we can sneak in and mess up their sound system and their food and bounce.” Luka and Miku concluded that the twins grew up pretty demented.

“You seriously don’t have anything decent to do?” Luka asked.

“Well, not unless you suggest something else, we’ll do that as we planned.” Rin shrugged and smiled.

Rin and Len stood up from their seats after glancing at their watches.

“Time for us to go. See you around, you two.” Len said and went ahead at the door.

“Guys, be careful if you start making out. I don’t anyone of you getting hurt physically.” Rin teased and tossed them a Yuri manga which made Luka and Miku snapped and threw the manga but the twins skillfully dodged it.

“Those little gits.” They had their teeth gritted and almost slammed their balled up fist on the glass table but they found themselves looking at each other for a brief moment.

“It’s a miracle we actually found ourselves agreeing to something.” Miku noted and smiled at the pinkette.

“It really is.” Luka smiled back.

The twins enjoyed having coffee amongst them that they didn’t notice that they were being watched from another table but a blue haired demon. A huge grin was plastered on his face as he observed them from afar, trying to read the twins and estimate them.

“I hope the rumors are true.” He took a spoonful of vanilla ice cream inside his mouth.

----------

Time flew by fast and the twins found themselves on the way to their car and Miku managed to buy a new motherboard she needed.

Just when they were about to enter, a man approached them. Blue hair, glasses, blue scarf, and dressed in a coat. Hid face looked troubled and the twins couldn’t help but ask, “What’s wrong mister?”

Little does the twins, they fell in a web’s trap and not long, they would be fluttering around in trouble.

“I happen to be in town for a tour but I got separated from my group. I was hoping that you can help me. You are idols, no? You should probably know the place.” He requested and gave them a pleading bow.

Luka glanced at Miku who gave her a shrug which probably meant ‘What can go wrong?’.

“Sure but do you know where your hotel is, mister?” Luka asked the man and he shook his head.

“We arrived just this morning and I had someone else get my things away to the hotel and all day, I’ve been roaming around like a lost puppy.” He replied.

Luka thought different. Of course, in some sense, she had her guard up around the man like he was going to do something to them and it wasn’t going to be pleasant. She can’t help but trust her instincts in this one.

“Mister, we’ll just arrange someone to tour you around and lead you back to your tour group and your hotel. I’m sorry we can’t accompany you. We have a tight schedule for tomorrow.” She said and didn’t lie about having a tight schedule. They have classes tomorrow.

“Oh, I did remember. I’m sorry, mister. Please just wait at the coffee shop and we’ll send someone to be your tour guide.” Miku wasn’t an idiot not to pick up Luka’s tense manner of speaking. She knows something’s not right with the guy.

“Is that so?” The man smiled and bowed to thank the girls. “Thank you for being kind to a stranger like me.” He said and went back to the café with a scowl on his face.

“Miku, let’s go.” Luka said and rode the driver’s seat. Miku did the same.

Luka turned the engine on and drove home with her sister.

[AN: Honestly, this chapter makes no sense to me in some way…]

With the twins back at their homes, they bid each other good byes but—

“Crap.” Miku stood outside of her mansion’s gates but no one answered the door when she rang the doorbell. She looked for her keys around in her pocket and forgot that she didn’t bring a spare key of the mansion.

“How some no one’s home?” She asked herself. It did make her wonder because even their servants weren’t around. Odd.

Miku hit the speed dial for her sister.

“Hallo, Luka?” She greeted with a grim look on her face.

“Oh, why the sudden call? I was about to take a bath.” Luka said on the other side of the line.

“You won’t believe it if I tell you I’ve been locked out of the house. No one’s home.” Miku stared at her sister’s place just next door. She just noticed how ridiculous how their houses stand together and they battle on the size of it.

“That can’t be helped. Come on in. I have a maid to welcome you by the door.” Luka said and she can hear water gushing from a faucet at the background.

“Thanks Luka.” She managed a faint smile before she ended the call.

She walked to her sister’s house and as Luka told her, a maid welcomed her and led her to a guest bedroom which happens to be across her sister’s room.

She thanked the maid as she dismissed herself out of the room. Miku sat on the bed and sighed in defeat.

“That damn old geezer.” She gritted her teeth. Another sigh escaped her rosy lips before she stood up and hit the bathroom.

Miku did the rest to herself. Place hot water in the tub, look for clothes she can wear and turns out, it was a room made for her and Luka doesn’t even know it exists so technically, all the clothes were made for her size.

She grabbed a fresh towel from one of the drawers and went to take a shower to clean herself up before she soaked herself in the hot water of the tub.

Rethinking, Miku tried to think over her relationship with Luka as a sibling. You could say it was a bipolar kind of relationship and it would drive anyone mad but Miku thought different.

“Luka will be the death of me.” She whispered under her breath.

The image of Luka’s smile replayed in her mind and it was enough to make her heart stop abruptly. What was it that she felt other than sibling love?

A knock came to the bathroom door and it snapped Miku out of her thoughts.

“Yes?” She went out of the water and noticed how dizzy she got and this made her fall down to her knees.

“Ah, this is Luka. You done?” The pinkette asked at the other side of the door.

A rigid breath escaped her mouth and she made a sound that worried Luka.

“Hey, are you okay? I heard that you aren’t good with staying too long in the bath. I noticed that it’s been an hour so--” Indeed, it was a wrong thing to stray in the bath or too long. She forgot how dizzy she gets when she stays in the water too long.

“I-I’m fine.” From the sound of her voice, she wasn’t.

Luka couldn’t bear hearing the girl like his so she barged in and saw the tealette on the ground breathing and sweating profusely .

“What an idiot you are.” Luka managed before she carried the girl to the bed only wrapped in a towel and revealed her peaches-and-cream skin and her slender legs.

“Get me cold water and a towel.” She ordered to the maid standing outside the room.

Miku didn’t want to receive such treatment. It made her feel weak and powerless and out of all things, it was that that she can’t tolerate.

“Luka, don’t make a fuss. I’m fine after a short period of rest.” She said and squeezed the hand of the pinkette.

“Nonsense.” Luka placed the towel soaked in cold water over the forehead of the tealette.

“Hmmm.” Miku couldn’t say no to the look that Luka was making. For once, she was concerned for her.

“Miku, how long do you usually stay in the bath before you get too dizzy?” Luka asked. Now that she thought of it…

“Usually around an hour and ten minutes. I’ve only been at the tub for thirty minutes.”  She said and stared at Luka’s eyes. She can’t help but feel allured with it.

The siblings pondered on it for some time but little do they know it was related to their powers.

Even though unknown, Miku and Luka have been developing their powers and was sealed but since it was increasing faster than any normal of their kind, it was getting intolerable and it has to be released before it burns their body out literally.

No one came to inform this to them.

“Miku, get some rest. I’ll change your clothes later.” Luka assured her sister and tried out something she hasn’t done ever in her life.

She kissed Miku’s forehead and willed that it could make her sleep in peace for a few hours and it worked. In a minute, Miku Hatsune fell asleep at her bed with only a towel and the sheets to cover her up.

“How troublesome.” She smiled at her sister and went out of the room to leave her sister for a while
