Encounter

The school bell rang as the students entered their respective classrooms. Some were excited and running for the upcoming year, others were bored and sighing for the new academic year. As it is said, that is a student's normal response, what else would you expect from them? Personally, I was tremendously motivated for my first day of teaching. I felt the heartbeats of joy. I must have forgot to mention how deeply I adored literature. It is the masterpiece of art expressed through words that show the roots of a tree, but come out as the flowers itself. It's the type of art that strengthens the soul and enriches the spirit miraculously.  The honour goes to those who handle it meticulously to create an ultimate beauty that beautifies this oxidizing world of a dream. It is made up of enchanted words that I personally might cease to say, who knows? Nowadays, only a few teenagers  appreciate such art, not many people acknowledge it. Some think it's old, others think it's boring. Moreover, what infuriates me more is when a person says that it takes time to finish a book. What type of ideals are these?! A book is not to finish, a book is not to read. A book is to enjoy and to get indulged with every word being narrated and more importantly, is to feel the words itself and to understand the emotional message that the writer or poet is trying to deliver to us whether it's a poetry or a book. Literature is everything; social news is based on literary elements too.  In my opinion, it is the building block of everyhtin g and this is what makes people literate and without it, people might have ended up illiterate and in advanced. This is basically why I adore this subject so much. It is an honour to teach it and it is a pride to convey such golden knowledge to my precious students.
After a long walk in the school's wide corridor, I reached my class, class B. My students were seventeen years old of age which is the best part. I wouldn't take too much time trying to make them understand my point of everything and soon enough, they will all come to acknowledge this delight. Knocking on the door, my hands trembled as it reached for the door knob nervously. I haven't thought that I would be this much nervous. I guess it's my first day, what else would I expect...
I opened the door taking my first steps in as the raucous noises turned into pure silence upon my entrance. They all stood up in stance as an act of politeness. "Good morning, everybody. Take your seats please."
It wasn't a bit bad at all perhaps I enjoyed my presence in front of them. "My name is Mrs. Midori and is I'll be leading you through the arts of literature. What is more fundamental is to understand it and acknowledge it from the heart..."  I did my utmost best to give them an introduction for literature which will make them love it and get more thrilled for it. I felt glad. "May everyone tell me their names now," I requested hoping to find out Taynis among them all. Furthermore as it is my first day, I got to memorize their names as well.
   "Chris."
   "Joury."
   "Mihael."
   "Thomas."
   "Gamyeon."
   "Hourm."
   "Chalda."
"Taynis." Yes! That one.... he was a handsome boy with grass green hair and reptilian gold eyes, sitting as he leaned by a wall. His eyes were staring downwards at his desk, literally at nothing. It was very obvious he was trying to avoid eye contact in order to avoid a conversation with me.....
   "Rousa."
   "Zelda."
   "Matyon."
   "Gyoe."
   "Wertio."
As the students went on saying their names, my sinister mind went on planning for an approach on Taynis. It seemed my class's students were not too much. This made it a perfect environment for teaching. I grinned devilishly as a thought popped up on my mind, "Taynis, it seems you are so quiet today, why don't you tell us a bit about yourself?" I said enthusiastically. It seems he is going to hate me now.... well, it is worth it.
"Nothing," said the boy bluntly. I facepalmed subconsciously. I was promptly astounded by his plain emotionless  response. It seems that the boy is more crushed than expected to be... well, in that case, a direct plan would never work out, what I need is vigorous trying that wouldn't be surprising for him. I should not make it obvious for him that I am putting more focus on him or he might try to shun away.
It seems the session is about to end... I spent the minutes left giving the students a quick introduction about what will be discussed throughout this week. I was trying as much as possible to keep my gaze away from Taynis to raise away suspicions. Later, the bell rang as I exited the class and went back to the staff room.
The lady with jet black hair was sitting in my place, resting her chin on her hand as she stared at me from afar like a lost cat, "So how did things go? You met him?"
"Yes... he is so quiet though..." I said in a confused tone pondering what will my next move be.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" She asked smirking.
   "What would it be?"
   "My name is Drulf."
I facepalmed looking at her with a raised eyebrow, "And how would that count as me forgetting about something?"
   "It's something mandatory, you know."
It is the moment where I have realized how much arrogant that lady is, yet I tried being calm and maintaing my posture as I am. I could have ran up to her and slapped her in the face! She is being extremely annoying. "Aha☆, you are so full of yourself!"
Giving me a look of confusion, she raised an eyebrow giving me a one-sided wry smirk, "We will see about that..." she replied in what seemed like an eerie tone. What type of woman is she?! She stood up moving away from my desk as I sat down at my place. Later on, Mr. Dans came in followed by Mrs. Yura.
"So how was your teaching day?~" said Dans in a playful rhythmic tone, giving the world's ebullient  beam.
A giggle from Yura followed by a cheerful laugh was enough to make the atmosphere a garden of light. Everybody in the staff room then started laughing including me too!
After nearly an hour of report writing to the principal, I felt all the energy I had drying out, but the second I looked away from the papers in hand at the teachers around me, I was even invaded by the feeling of dread upon the sight I saw.... What was more horrible than that? A mess of crushed and torn papers everywhere, spilled ink on the floor, teachers laying their heads on their desks, red puffy eyes, it was a whole opposite environment than how it was a few moments ago. I stood up from my chair to go get some coffee. As I was moving, i suddenly felt a pair of hands grabbing my feet fiercely; that freaked me out! As astonished as how I was, I abruptly kicked the pair of hands away and stepping at them, then a masculine shriek was out from beneath the desk. A masculine shriek? That was Dans's voice....
   "Ouch..."
I stared at him with awe as my jaw dropped, "What are you doing down there? Why are you even sleeping on the floor underneath your desk?!"
"Why so mean? I was searching for my pen, but I couldn't find it, so I went deeper...."
"Yeah.. deeper and deeper until you reach the core of the earth..." I replied sarcastically.
He instantaneously pointed under Mrs. Yura's chair , "It's there, can you get it for me please?"
I sighed at his hopelessness... Seriously? All that for a pen?... I brought his pen for him and placed it at his table, "Do we have coffee in here?"
   "Thank you, probably."
The best part was that none of the staff members knew about the presence of coffee in their cabinet... please note the sarcasm...
After what seemed like hours, working hours were thankfully done as I packed up my stuff and was on my way to the school gate.
"Midori!" I heard a voice of a person calling me from a distance while panting. I waited and turned around to see Dans.
"Hello there." Shockingly, he intertwined his arm with mine winking at me, "Care for a ride?"
I didn't know what type of expression I was supposed to make. I am not the romantic type of person and I have never experienced it before. Moreover, I have just known him hours ago, so I would kindly refuse. That man is just something...indescribable; he has such a different, but sweet attitude, "M-maybe next time..." I stuttered, but why the hell did I just stutter?! I sweatdropped. Hopeless me.
"Come on, please! We just have known each other...." well this is the point exactly: we have just known each other.' I thought abruptly.
I sighed, "My home is near, so no need," I lied.
"Well then we can walk to there!" He said exclaiming. Just tell me from where did you get all that energy and you were nagging at work time?!  You are seriously so stubborn....
   "How about tomorrow?"
   "But why?"
I tried to think up for an excuse until a good lame one came on my mind, "It's just that I didn't plan for it..." Well, I have always been good at quick responses. I think it have probably helped me before and may it does now.
"Okay, as you wish. Have a great day!" He said waving as he walked away.
I sighed as I entered my rented car, driving back home.
