Chapter 4: esmera cant wait
Elizabeth's pov****
"Is reading really all you will ever do here Elizabeth." Sighing, I closed the current book I was reading and looked at ganon. Since I've gotten married ganon didn't want me leaving the palace so the only thing I could do to entertain myself is to study their language and read with koume's help. Apparently this seemed to bother my dear husband because he's constantly complaining about me being turned into a book worm. "Can I help it? It's the only thing I can ever do around here and it's not like i have the girls here to entertain myself gossiping with them." Ganon shook his head not even bothering to continue arguing with me. He still hasn't brought up my little escapade to the fight and I fear that when he does all hell will freeze over. "You should act more like royalty Elizabeth you're the-"
"Yeah yeah I'm the queen of the gerudo yada yada yada. I've been a simple California girl my entire life until I died two years ago and during those two years of my death I was learning to princess and you've been, what, king? You're entire life so it's easy for you so please explain to me how much can you learn to princess in two years max??" He stared at me silently with what I could only guess was his confused face. I stood up and placed the now finished book in the shelf with a triumphant look. "I have no idea what you were getting at Elizabeth but I know one thing-"
"Mention anything your mother's said about having kids ganon and I swear to you you're sleeping in the throne room for a month.." ganon rolled his eyes at me and rubbed his temples showing his aggravation towards my comment, "Elizabeth it's your duty to provide me an heir-" I groaned, "oh mah lord put a sock in it! I told you I don't want to have kids yet ganon I'm only nineteen still! No kids until I turn at least twenty-two. Period." He sighed in defeat, before he could speak though a guard walked in and whispered something to him getting him all tensed up. I could only raise an eyebrow suspiciously as she stood up to leave, "I'll be right back. Don't leave the palace." I stared at him with a dumb look as he left. It's not like I could leave anyways. Shrugging I turned to pick out a different book. I turned to sit down only to be met with a familiar raven haired girl. "SHIT Natalie you scared me half to death! Don't ever fucking do that!" Natalie chuckled and i couldn't help but narrow my eyes at her, "what do you want?" I hissed," did your father send you after ganon because-" she scowled, "quiet Elizabeth I am not here for him!" Her expression then softened into one of worry and panic, "I bare message from helenia." I felt my blood freeze over from hearing her words, my eyes going wide as my mind raced to think what the ancient of darkness could ever want to tell me. The fact Natalie looked so panicked didn't calm me at all either. "What is it?"
"Listen well because I don't have much time. No one knows I'm here not even my dear sister. I fear she has turned traitorous against us-" I glared at her, " what makes you say that?!" She hushed me angrily and motioned me to keep listening, " it's merely intuition Elizabeth but listen to me. Helenia was the one who ordered your exile-" I scoffed, "why am I not surprised?!" Again she hissed, "LISTEN! She ordered your exile not because of your oath to the desert goddess but because she needed you as her eyes in Roxanne's circle." My eyes went wide, "she what?!"
"She fears Roxanne is planning something horrible. She has proof to believe she's looking for the oracle to use on erebos-"
I shook my head in confusion, "why would she need to use it on erebos?" Natalie sat down staring at me, "Elizabeth we fear she's trying to keep evils grip tight on him." Wait what? "What do you mean?"
"Everything you were told about the war is a lie. Elizabeth there was only one war with erebos and that was eons ago with adea and aleika. The only reason you're being hunted is because Roxanne and arithen have kept the war going but erebos has had nothing to do with it. What do you know about the battle of Reista?" I blinked several times trying to remember what my mother would teach me during my stay in the underworld, "I only know it was the battle aleika and adea sealed Verona and erebos with a quartz arrow that's-"
"Lies all of them! Verona was turned an ancient by erebos himself and aleika used an arrow made from amethysts. It's the only stone that can kill an ancient. She aimed for erebos but Verona got in the way and took the arrow for him, killing her instantly." I looked at Natalie, my confusion even more evident in my face. "Having done that erebos fell in a state of grief to the point he called off the war." "So he's not after us? He's not evil?" Natalie shook her head, "no I'm not saying that. He's in a sort of limbo state and the ancients know that any moment he could go back to them and things would be normal like they were before he rebelled."
At that moment everything made sense, every puzzle began to fall in place," that's why Roxanne she would want the oracle for. She's afraid that if he goes back to being an ancient-"
"She would be forgotten and punished in an oblivion, yes that's what we believe. Neferret has tried to guide Anna through it all but something has interfered and now neferret can't contact her at all. It's like something is keeping Anna encapsulated so that the ancients can't get to her-" woah wait what? "Anna speaks to neferret?!" Natalie glared at me and nodded, "yes it's the same gift we share. But like I said something is keeping us from contacting her and we fear someone is keeping her hidden on purpose." I nodded but then another question sprouted in my mind, "but then what does Helenia need me to do?"
"She needs you to join Roxanne, her exiling you won't arouse any suspicions because of how notoriously against love she is. Roxanne would happily take you under her wing with out a second though because not only were you exiled but because you bare their mark." That's right. The serpent is the mark for the exiles how did I not remember that? "But it's the desert goddess' symbol not-" she shook her head, "they don't know that. Also the fact you're of erebos' blood should also help you infiltrate them it's not that hard. You just need to get in and confirm our suspicions and try to stop her at all cost."
"You do realize what you're asking me to do is a suicide mission??" Natalie nodded," yes I know but you're under helenias protection. You won't die she won't allow it." I nodded. A loud bang of the doors down the hallway signaled ganon was returning and Natalie became more frantic, " Do it tonight if you have the chance Elizabeth but it needs to be done-" I scowled, "how do I know you aren't setting me up?" She shook her head, "you have to trust me I still pledge loyalty to Anna and I would gladly take an oath to prove it Elizabeth. But you have to do this quick, keep Roxanne from going after Anna especially with her condition-" her condition? "What do you mean her condition?"
"The less you know the better we don't need Roxanne finding out!" At this point Natalie began to move into the shadows. "Wait how do-" the words she said to me brought complete and utter horror to my ears and I couldn't help but let my body fall like a rag doll the moment ganon walked it. "Elizabeth!" I felt him catch me but the horror still invaded my senses.
Viera tulim sere naught
The Suns heir has fallen.
Rosh pov****
A loud annoyed groan escaped my throat as I continued to walk down the hall way with a not too happy Anna trailing behind. "Roooosh please!?" I groaned again, "no." This woman was annoying me. "But why?!" I stopped abruptly and spun on my heel to face her, " we are leaving tonight because one, the festival starts tomorrow and you have to be there and two, because I say so." She glared at me, "PLEASE! Just until link proposes to nikki then we can-"
"Anna no means no."
"UGH YOURE IMPOSSIBLE!" I sighed seeing her walk away in angry strides. She is really used to always getting her way that her temper tantrums are a norm for me. To be quite honest with you I pity sheik at times. But what can I do, I love my dear principessas as if they were my own. "She still wants to stay?" I nodded and Volga sighed as I entered the room. "If it were up to me I would let her stay but-" Volga shook his head, "it's something we can not hold off rosh and you know it. Anna's magic is progressing too fast and if she continues to be exposed to the others powers it will harm her. We need to find a way to keep her magic from consuming her or she will fall into insanity." I angrily slammed my fist on the table and ran my hands through my hair, "a witch Being consumed by her magic. I've never heard that happening to anyone-"
"Again how many witches have you encountered that were completely deprived of their arts most of their lives?" I shook my head signaling I have seen none. To which Volga replied, " it's like a glass of water. Keep a witch from letting out power from time to time in her life and it comes to the point she overflows into insanity. Also the fact that Aaron can no longer share her thoughts worries me completely we need to leave tonight." I sat down sighing, he's right. I know he is, but there's just something I don't understand. I've been alive for all the dragomir generations and I've never in my life seen something like this. But yet again I haven't had much experience with witches either. I heard Volga chuckle and I looked at him suspiciously, "it would also give you time to bond with your mate." I winced at him mentioning her and I couldn't help but scowl and die a little on the inside. "Rosh you need to accept the fact of what she is to you. You can't just keep ignoring your mate and starving yourself for centuries." I laughed, "hell yeah i can. Also it was her decision to not be my mate I can't and won't force her. She's also the biggest bitch I've ever met in my entire life." Volga laughed at my comment making me scowl, "can we please focus back on Anna and leave my life out of it?" Volga's chuckling died down a bit but I could still see amusement in his eyes.
Oh I will so hate my trip back to esmera...
