Chapter 1
I was lying in my room and I stared at the ceiling. I can't get yesterday's incident out of my head. . .hopefully having lunch with Leon tomorrow can make up for it. I thought and I heard the morning bell ring.
"Huh?" I muttered in surprise and I sat up before looking out the window. "Guess I was up earlier than I thought. . ." I continued muttering and then I got changed from pajamas into my school outfit. I looked into a mirror and groaned. "Wish the skirts weren't so short though. . ." I muttered and then I walked out of my dorm.
"Hey, Tsune!" Leon called as he grinned once I got downstairs. He was leaning against the wall with shut eyes and a grin for a moment. "I was wai-" He seemed shocked when he saw me wearing the school uniform and I smiled, nervously.
"Sorry to have kept you waiting, Leon, I was having a bit of a difficult time with the bow for a bit. Got it figured out though!" I exclaimed before I realized he was staring. "Everything okay? It. . .doesn't look weird on me, does it?" I asked and he froze.
"N-No, it looks great! I'm just not used to seeing you in the school uniform is all." Leon said and I chuckled.
"Well, Ms. Yukizome said we were going to have a transfer student arrive, so I thought I should be wearing one for a short while at least," I said with a grin and he chuckled a bit.
"Well," He turned to face the farther end of the hallway as he rubbed the back of his head. "Can't be arguing with that. Come on. I can walk with you to class," He said with a smile and I gave him a slightly confused look.
"Isn't your class before mine though? You'd probably end up late, if you end up taking me to class," I said with a smile.
"We wake up an hour early each morning, remember?" I guess I had no room to argue there. Because of my surfing, I would usually always be out to enjoy the high tide while I could after a good night sleep, so I woukd try to sleep and then enjoy the early morning before the sun comes up to enjoy what high tide was left before it would be lowtide. On occassion with waves big enough, I would work on surfing.
"Yeah, I guess you're right about that," I said and he smiled a bit.
"By the way, did you work on your surfing today?"
"No. It was raining." I said and I rubbed the back of my neck while we walked down the hall.
"I guess that's a pretty vital thing to be careful about," He said and I nodded.
"Yeah," I said and I rubbed my nose a bit. "It's gotten to the point where I can actually smell and feel the wind to figure out the day's weather without it showing in the sky or on the news." I said and he chuckled.
"I guess that means you're sensitive with that, huh?" He asked and I nodded.
"Yeah," I said and after a bit more of talking, he went into his classroom and I headed to class. Next thing I knew, Hiyoko was right in front of me.
"Hey, Tsune," She said in a certain tone that I felt myself sweatdrop to.
"Uh, hey, Hiyoko. What is it you need?" I asked and she a had a small smirk.
"I've been seeing that you're always walking with some boy to his class, so who is he?"
"His name's Leon. He's a friend I meet with at the dorm every morning unless he's the one that wakes me up."
"Oh?"
"Wait, the one that wakes you up? Hold on a second!" Kazuichi suddenly charged up to me and I was a bit caught off-guard by it.
"Uh, what is it, Kazuichi?" I asked and he spoke up.
"What do you mean by the one that wakes you up? Did you give him the spare key to your dorm?!" He asked quickly and I sweatdropped.
"Well, I did, but that's cause I've known him since the Sports Convention three years ago. Since then, we've been in touch and eventually we became friends."
"Wait, so surfing is a sport?" Hiyoko asked and I deadpanned.
"Of course it is! How can you not know that? And he's the Ultimate Baseball Player as well, so it's only fitting that we met at the convention." I said and Hiyoko scoffed.
"Sounds like a thing for losers, like you, brat," She said, glancing at me with a smirk and I felt waterfall tears fall from my eyes.
"Why do you have to act so mean about it?" I asked and Kazuichi looked at her.
"That's not something you should say to her!" He said and I moved to sit at my desk and when I sat down, sunce Gundham was sitting next to me as always, the Dark Devas popped out from his scarf and hopped across the space and they all gave me happy looks. I smiled at them and giggled.
"Nice to see you guys too, Devas." I said as I took out a treat for each of them. They all squeaked happily and began to eat their treats. I smiled and I was barely able to notice, but I saw Gundham had a slight smile, even though his scarf hid it a bit.
Ms. Yukizome walked in with a grin. "Morning, class!" She exclaimed and she seemed a bit surprised that all of us remained in the classroom. She then smiled and walked to the teacher's pedestal. I had a small smile and I kept my hands for myself while three of the Devas went back to Gundham, but San-D remained on my desk, once again.
"Morning, Ms. Yukizome!" Most of the other students called at the same time and I kept my hands on my lap. Class began going through as it always did and I had taken occassional glances at San-D to make sure the Deva wouldn't be up to any trouble. But instead, San-D actually behaved pretty well, between lying down curled to my left arm, with I kept folded onto the desk close to my body and behaving like a guard would, by being on guard towards everyone except Gundham, which didn't surprise me.
They've been behaving like guards after a few times of meeting Gundham when it came to the hamsters. After the point of them realizing I was of no threat to them, they finally lightened up around me a bit, and then eventually, they began behaving like guards. And I guess every animal Gundham brought into class as well, began treating me similarly.
I eventually left with Hiyoko and Teruteru and began making lunch. He was working on the meat part, Hiyoko worked on gathering, and I working on cutting up the vegetables. I was so focused that I was completely ignoring Teruteru's pervy remarks. I smiled after finishing the carrots and next up was the onion. I looked over at Hiyoko with a smile. "Hiyoko?" She looked at me.
"What do you want?"
"Can you get me a slice of bread?" I asked and she seemed confused.
"Okay," she gave me the bread slice and I bit some of it off, then began chopping the onion. I seemed to be completely unaffected by the onion at least, so it was fine. I eventually chewed the bread in my mouth, so I bit off some more from the slice, continuing to dice the onion.
"It's not fair that you eat something before we do, Tsune!"
"I only need the bread for the onion, nothing more and nothing less." I said simply, before putting the now-chopped onion into the pot. "Besides, I hardly get filled up just by a slice of bread," I said with a smile.
"Hey, anyone in here?" I heard Leon and I glanced out and Hiyoko scoffed.
"And there's your loser sports friend,"
"He's not a loser, Hiyoko," I said, walking out of the kitchen and I grinned. "Hey, Leon!" I exclaimed with a wave.
"I didn't think you'd be in here," He said and I giggled.
"Of course, typical Leon," I said and he seemed confused.
"Hey, what do you mean by that, Tsune?" He asked and I rubbed the back of my neck.
"You're never expecting the unexpected when it comes to me every time!" I said, with a giggle.
"By the way, I guess you might've actually given Mondo a bruise yesterday, and I was going to try and see if I could make an ice pack, but the nurse's office didn't have any."
"Alright, I'll be back then," I said and I walked back into the kitchen, and began working on getting a small bag and filling it with ice. I heard extra footsteps before they stopped at the lunch window.
"What are you guys making?" He asked and I looked at him.
"Curry. We thought that we'd head to the classroom with the curry and maybe give some to you guys next door, if there's any left. Though, I guess with Akane in class, she's likely to eat it all with Nekomaru. . ." I said with a sweatdrop at the thought. I then finished filling the bag and sealed it, before heading to the window and passing it over. "Here, this should work well enough. He can even chew some of the ice if it hurts bad enough."
"Alright, thanks a lot, Tsune," He said with a grin and then he turned, waving back at me as he was walking away. I put my head in my left hand with the elbow on the counter and then waved back at him.
"Don't forget to run like you're on the field, if you don't want to be yelled at by him," I said and he nodded back at me before he began running and I chuckled, standing straight again. I then looked at Teruteru and Hiyoko. "The curry ready?" I asked and Teruteru nodded.
"Of course. Only the world's top chef will have the speed and efficency-" Hiyoko and I already began leaving him behind as we each carried the pot onto the food cart and I began driving it out of the kitchen.
"Let's go then, Hiyoko,"
"Yeah."
"W-Wait, ladies!" Teruteru yelled as I smiled happily before stopping.
"You two go ahead and take it up to the classroom, okay?" I said with a smile and they both looked at me.
"What'll you be doing?"
"I'm not feeling up for curry, so I'm just probably gonna figure out something else to eat." I said and I walked through the halls, waving back at them.
After a little bit, I had a simple sandwich and began to head back to the classroom. "Hey, guys! Hope yo-" I exlcaimed but cut off, seeing a lot of them crouched forward on themselves and I was confused. "Huh?"
What's going on with everyone. . .? I suddenly felt Hiyoko hide behind me quickly.
"Deal with this mess, idiot!" I looked at her.
"Huh? I don't even know what's going on!" I exclaimed and she charged out of tbe room, shutting the door. "Uh. . ." I smiled nervously at the scene. Nagito, Akane, Ibuki, and Nekomaru seemed to pretty much be a few of the only ones that weren't crouched over, even though it looked like Akane and Nekomaru were just about swooning over each other.
Okay, this is way too strange. . .usually Akane and Nekomaru would be halfway through a real-life situation battle right about now. . . I said and I realized Fuyuhiko seemed to be trying to zip up Soda's jacket while he kept trying to unzip it on his way to Sonia, I'm guessing. . .Nagito seemed to just sitting against the wall with a blush, seemingly less fazed by everything going on. I didn't understand what was going on with Gundham especially, since he kept murmuring to himself as soon as I opened the door earlier. And here I was hoping Gundham wasn't affected. . .but I guess he was. . . I looked at his Dark Devas and even they seemed effected except the one that's always sleeping. Even his Dark Devas?!
After some time, everyone was put in the infirmary and I sat in the chair next to Gundham's bed since he was lying down to try and recover from whatever happened in the classroom earlier. I had Gundham's scarf on my lap with the Dark Devas on it, asleep. I heard a groan and I looked to see he seemed to slowly wake up and I smiled in relief.
"About time," I said with a smile and he looked at me.
"What happened? It felt like the fires of hell were overtaking my body," He said and he began to sit up.
"I'm. . .not entirely sure myself, honestly. . . I just walked in on the situation. . ." I said and he seemed to blush a bit and he looked away, but I guess it probably cause of some realization or something.
"I-It's no matter a-anyway," he said and I smiled. The Dark Devas all seemed to wake up and they jumped across to the bed, which wasn't that much of a jump anyway, lucky for Cham-P, who was the chubby orange Deva. Okay, I know I'm calling them Devas, but it became habit after a while, since Gundham always calls them that.
"Here," I handed Gundham's scarf back to him and he took it.
"Why wasn't I wearing it. . .?"
"I didn't want to chance uou'd accidentally choke while you were asleep, so I had it taken off and I've been making sure to take care of the Devas while at it." I said witha smile andbhe seemed to blush a bit more, but he used his scarf to try and hide it.
"Th-Thank you for your considerance," He said and I smiled.
"It's only natural, isn't it?" I asked with a grin.
The next day, I got to the classroom and everyone seemed tired, and I was sitting at my desk as usual. San-D nor the other Devas were on my desk for the day, which I guess may have been involved with yesterday's event. . . The door suddenly opened and I stared at the door in confusion.
"Sorry, I'm a day late. I was given yesterday away to work on the dorm." A girl said and as she came in, I noticed that she had sky blue hair, brown eyes, and she was maybe a few inches shorter than Nagito.
Yeah. . .couldn't say my height cause. . .well. . .as much as I would hate to admit it. . .I was only a couple of inches taller than Teruteru so far. I didn't hit much of a growth spurt yet, but I'm hoping for one here soon.
"It's fine. Please, come in, Angelica,"
"Thanks!" She exclaimed and she moved to sit in the back.
