Chapter 5
After school Mukuro once again had practice so he couldn’t walk with Tsuna. He would have practice in the morning and afternoon till after the tournament in Tokyo. It annoyed him that he couldn’t spend time with Tsuna unless it was the weekend, but the same could be said for his boyfriend. Mukuro though went to his practice. However no one was there since they were all watching the fight between Tsuna and Mochida. Mukuro sighed and headed over to where the fight was. He didn’t want to be there but he should at least go support his brother. As he got there he saw someone lurking at the partially open door.
“Kufufufu, well if it isn’t the Smoking Bomb,” Mukuro mused walking up to the younger silver haired teen. Said teen whirled around to face Mukuro, his eyes narrowed.
“And you are you?” the teen growled.
Mukuro smirked. “I’m Mukuro Rokudo, Hayato Gokudera. What brings you here? Oh wait let me guess. The arcobaleno told you to come here to meet the candidate for Vongola’s tenth generation boss?”
Hayato glared, reaching for his dynamite. “How would you know that?”
“Simple, I’m his mist,” Mukuro mused. Hayato was a bit startled, he wasn’t told there was already a guardian. Mukuro smirked walking up to Hayato looking down at the shorter and younger teen. Hayato glared up at him, not happy about being shorter than the illusionist.
“I’m sure you’ll be surprised when you test him. I’ll let it happen, just don’t draw the skylarks attention or I won’t save you. Sure I’ll save the sky but the storm has yet to prove himself,” Mukuro smirked before walking into the building causing people to freeze.
“Muku!” Tsuna said going to the illusionist. Mukuro glanced at Mochida who was laying on the ground crying.
“Made him bald, didn't you Tsuna,” Mukuro mused, which caused the brunet to blush rubbing his neck.
“Well that was the rule to get a piece of hair… I guess I got a bit carried away…” Tsuna mumbled.
“A bit?” Mukuro chuckled. “Well either way go get dressed.” He said handing Tsuna a bag that held spar clothes. Tsuna thanked him and rushed off. Mukuro looked over the crowd of students and smirked. The crowd flinched inching away from Mukuro.
“You think Hibari will like you all standing here in a CROWD?” Mukuro questioned smirking. As soon as Mukuro mentioned Hibari and crowd in one sentence everyone scattered heading home. Mukuro laughed very much amused watching the chaos.
“You find their reactions amusing, don’t you pineapple?” Hibari Kyoya grunted from behind Mukuro. Mukuro turned around smirking.
“Of course, considering they are weaklings,” Mukuro said walking up to the black haired teen. Kyoya smirked up at the taller teen.
“They’re herbivores after all,” Kyoya stated. Mukuro shook his head amused by the classification Kyoya still uses.
“I should be heading home. I’ll see you later Kyo,” Mukuro said before walking by the skylark. However he ducked under a tonfa swing, but was promptly backed into a wall.
“Going somewhere Kuro?” Kyoya mused, pinning Mukuro against the wall.
“Well, I was planning on going home, but it seems something might have come up,” Mukuro said seeing the glint in Kyoya’s eyes. Kyoya smirked and took hold of the collar of Mukuro’s uniform pulling him close, mashing their lips together.

A few weeks later things had started getting dangerous around town. Mukuro heard the rumors longs before he saw the effects. Someone or some group was attacking people they deemed strong. Mukuro narrowed his eyes, vaguely remembering a similar plan he had thought of shortly after murdering the Esterano scientists. Were the people behind this the same kids he freed back then? Mukuro couldn’t be sure, therefore he would have to wait and see.
It didn’t take long before people at Nami-chu were attacked. Mukuro noticed the way they were injured and tisked. Why did it have to be them? He shook his head, it didn’t matter, if they went after Tsuna he wouldn’t hesitate to protect his brother. Tsuna’s friend Takeshi had been accused of attacking the two students and suspended. Mukuro noticed Tsuna seemed saddened, which meant it was already his problem. He was about to go and find out if his theory was correct but Kyoya stopped him. Mukuro watched the perfect go a bit surprised. He shook his head and waited.
Mukuro walked into the school gates for morning practice when Kusakabe stopped him. The second in command of the Disciplinary Committee silently asked Mukuro to follow him. Mukuro followed Kusakabe inside the school and to Kyoya’s office. He looked around the empty office wondering what’s going on.
“Hibari-san has gone missing,” Kusakabe said looking at Mukuro seriously. Mukuro froze slowly looking at the taller teen.
“What?” Mukuro asked. Kusakube flinched a bit at the dangerous look the illusionist had in his eyes. Kusakube nodded a bit.
“Hibari-san is missing,” Kusakube said again standing his ground against Mukuro’s gaze.
“Do you know where he was going?” Mukuro asked as he walked over to the windows.
“I believe it was Kokuyo Land. The abandoned amusement park in the forest.” Kusakube replied. Mukuro thinks for a moment as he looks out the window. He was missing practice and he didn’t much care. The situation had just become personal. Now he just had to think and come up with a plan that wouldn’t land him in prison.
“Rokudo-san?” Kusakube asked, concerned. Mukuro looked at him in question his thinking was interrupted. “What are we going to do?”
“We aren’t going to do anything. You are going to run the committee until Hibari returns.” Mukuro said. “He’ll return, don't worry.”
Kusakube nodded a bit, not sure what Mukuro was going to do. Mukuro smirks lightly as he heads for the door.
“I’m late for practice so please excuse me,” Mukuro said before leaving. He didn’t go to the club room far too angry to be around people he could hurt. He went behind the school to let off some steam. Sitting down against the wall, he closed his eyes letting himself melt away from his physical body.
He opened his eyes appearing in his world made of illusions. Mukuro let his trident materialize in his hand as multiple enemy illusions appeared in front of him. He attacked them just as they attacked him.
By the time he was finished he felt better and not as homicidal. He sighed lightly before leaving his illusion world. He had been there all day, meaning he missed a day of school. Opening his eyes he saw Reborn sipping espresso. Mukuro rolled his eyes and stood dusting his pants off.
“Need something Reborn?” Mukuro asked, picking up his bag before looking at the Arcobaleno. Reborn looked up at him and smirked. Mukuro wasn’t sure if he wanted to know what the Arcobaleno wanted now.
“Tsuna and the others are going to figure out what’s going on and find Hibari. Care to join?” Reborn mused.
Mukuro sighed. “Do I even get a choice in the matter considering I’m the mist guardian?”
Reborn just smirked more. Mukuro nodded a bit he didn’t think so. He started to walk home not really caring if Reborn followed him. Mukuro missed the peace at home since it had gotten rather noisy since Reborn came, bringing more noise and trouble with him. He got home startling Lambo and I-Pin who had yet to get used to his presence in the house. Lambo started to cry and run away from Mukuro. Mukuro rolled his eyes and headed up to his room, he hadn’t done anything major mafia wise since he broke out of the Esterano. He heard Tsuna talking to Hayato and Takeshi in his room across the hall. Glancing at the door he decided to drop his stuff in his room before going to see what the plan was.
