Mitsuko's PoV

"What happened?" I whisper to Ichigo, he shrugged, "they've been like that since they're here."

"Miyuki?" I ask as I took a seat beside her. "What is it?"

"I-I-I k-kissed Rihito...." She says in a voice so low I barely caught it. Haruki's eyes widened.

"Someone took over?" I ask as if I knew it was her condition acting up again. She nodded.

"And what did he do?" I ask in an equally low voice.

"Yuki-chan...please stop...." He whispered.

"huh?" I was shocked awake.

"This isn't you...." His eyes were leaking sadness.

I felt so embarrassed....

"Th-That's what happened...." she fidgeted even more as I listened to her story.

First, I hit her head with a 'twack'.

"You got jealous subconsciously of all those fan girls, didn't you?" I ask, but then immediately softened, "it's okay. It's not like that's your first kiss or anything important."

"But still...won't that ruin our friendship?" she asked, tears were starting to cloud her eyes. I bit my lip.

"Start on your homework or something, don't come down unless I ask you to, okay? I'm gonna go talk to him."

I jogged down the stairs, and apparently Rihito has told the rest the story as well. All gazes were on me with worry as I walked up to them.

I exhaled sharply: "what're you staring at? Anyways got any solutions?"

"Shouldn't they just be together if they like each other?" Ryuzo asked with a pure puzzled expression.

"Who said anything about liking each other? It was a kiss." I said without any thought. Ichigo, Takeshi and Haruki visibly frowned at that statement of mine. I realized I said the wrong thing.

"Forget about that." I quickly dismiss, "you shouldn't act like it's a big deal, Rihito."

He looked up at me, his expression troubled.

"Miyuki is thinking that she ruined your friendship, which she didn't exactly since she couldn't help her persona switches. Don't make her think that." I say, my voice serious, "the best way to solve this right now is to pretend it never happened. To her personality switches, it'll all seem fuzzy starting tomorrow. I betcha that a few days later it'll all feel like a forgotten dream. And also, don't let these things ruin our school festival and the beach trip."

The primaries' festival was two days from now, but our high school's festival is a month from now, since we have more to prepare.

Silence was there for almost a minute when he spoke again: "Yeah, you're right."

Of course I am.

I smiled, as if saying 'so then it's decided'. Turning on my heels, I head to the staircases again.

"Oh and by the way?" I turn slightly so we made eye contact.

"Rihito, I know you like her. You can't hide crushes from me." I say with a smirk. And the immediate flush of his confirmed that I was right.

***

The classroom was extremely noisy as the teacher left us our entire afternoon into us planning what our class would do for our school festival. The class representative was standing at the front, taking notes.

"How about a maid cafe?" a random guy suggested that I know fully well where his intentions came from.

"That's very cliché, don't you think?" without any teachers here, I'm as free as a bird. I tilt my gaze towards that guy, who flinches unconsciously.

Sometimes I wonder...am I really that intimidating?

"Cafes, tea shops, haunted houses.... Don't you people have any sense of creativeness at all?"

"Then you come up with something!" that boy blurted out in frustration.

A smirk stretched on my lips, but before I could even speak, Miyuki interrupted, "mina...you really won't want Mitsuko to plan this...."

I frowned, about to protest, when she said again: "remember what you did at our last track and field day? And I know perfectly well what you're going to suggest this time."

I leaned back into my chair, "good old times...."

"A haunted house sounds good." Haruki says, successfully changing the topic.

"Whatever you say, Haruki-san...." I heard a dreamy whisper from the girl seated behind me.

Suddenly, a light bulb came on and I can see my vision lightening. I sat up straight, making a noise when I did so for everyone's attention to be on me.

"Then can I dress the guys?" I'm pretty sure my eyes were sparkling as I said that.

"Oh no you don't. It'll scare everyone away." Ichigo immediately states.

I feel my eyebrows knit together a bit, "how come?"

"We've experienced it at our first Halloween together." Takeshi, who was beside me, muttered.

Er...have I been a scary kid ever since JK?

"But that's the whole point of a Haunted house, no?" Miyuki defends.

"But I-I kind of don't want to see how much Takahashi has improved...." Haruki says, I can see him slightly nervous.

I knew I was always good with blood and stuff but this is going overload.

"Ne, if all of you childhood friends of hers think like that, then a haunted house really seems like a great idea!" the class representative says enthusiastically.

"...You're scaring me with that creepy smirk of yours...." Ichigo says while face palming.

I simply stuck my tongue out at him.

"You scare people with that horrible temper of yours." I shot right back.

For another minute we were just silently having a glaring contest.

"Okay...ano, any objections?" the representative asked one more time.

Instantly, I swept my gaze around the room. Anyone who might've had any thoughts of objection were pressed down due to my sharp glare. Cuz I'm awesome like dat >:3

"Well, everyone seem to agree...dakara, a haunted house it is!" the cheerful girl skipped out of the room to submit our idea.

"Takahashi-san, do you have any ideas?" I turn my head to whoever just addressed me. The boy flinched when we made eye contact.

"Yes. Just do as I say." I state before leaning back into my chair, "and how are we gonna get the supplies and when are we gonna start decorating?"

"The school buys us supplies in two weeks, and that's usually a week before the actual festival. So they don't clash into too much academic classes." Haruki says.

"Classes for sht, I wanna scare the crap outta people." The sentence slipped out of my mouth before I knew it. My eyes widened.

"Mitsuko!" Miyuki shouted. She didn't mind if we were alone, but she hated it when I swore in front of other people. Luckily nobody just understood what I said.

"Um...what did she say?" Ichigo asked, his brows furrowed.

"Nothing important." I say, dismissing the topic.

"Don't do that again." Miyuki says to me with a sharp glare that she normally couldn't pull off.

"Yeah, yeah."

~~

"Amazing, Ryuno. You only took five and a half seconds." I stare at the stop watch as if it were broken.

The kid gave out a true-hearted grin as he was still catching up with his breath.

Takeshi smiled a little.

"The festival's tomorrow, do you think you're ready?" I ask. Which also made me feel a little sad since it meant that today will be our last day in training.

"Yup! I'm boasted with confidence!" he yelled with a fist in the air.

"Good. Now go win that race tomorrow!" I stretch my hand out naturally, and once again, he high fives me with full force.

Takeshi's eyes widened a fraction at us.

"...You seem to be getting along." He remarked on our way back to Black Ship after our little race with Ryuno to his house.

"Hm, not all kids are annoying and difficult, I guess."

When I push open the doors to Black Ship, the first thing that came in view was Miyuki and Rihito chatting away at the counter. I smile, knowing that things between them are all cool.

I clenched my fists that're resting on the desk. This English teacher seriously pisses me off. She barely knows two things but acts like she's Native American or something.

"Ms. Takahashi? Can you recite chapter 34 for us, please?" she asked. I stood up first, then scanned my text book, we were only on chapter 31.

Nonetheless, I recited it perfectly. The look on her face was priceless as she reluctantly allowed me to sit down. Hmph, getting on my bad side? You just signed your death contract.

"Actually, Ms. Satoshi, I have a question about chapter 31." I raise my hand again instead of sitting back down. Miyuki's head shot towards me. She probably had a gut feeling that I'd pull something again.

Though they really can't blame me, I mean, look at this paragraph here:

I have a very happy life. In the morning, I always get up at 5:50. I get up early because I like reading books for 10 minutes before I have breakfast. After breakfast, I usually walk to school. Class starts at 8 o'clock, and I have five classes in the morning. I like all classes because I want to learn different kinds of knowledge. After lunch, I never waste time. I get back to classroom to read English books. School ends at 5:30. When I get home, I have delicious dinner with my parents. After that, I usually do my homework for one hour. Finally, I take a shower and go to sleep. What a good life!

[this is a real one that I searched up, guys. It's grade ten English]

Like, what the hell?! You call that a good life?!

"No questions asked, Ms. Takahashi, we only have ten more minutes of class. I'd like to finish spelling the new words." She was obviously trying to avoid my question.

"'New'?" I blurted out questioning without thinking. It's words like knowledge, end, waste. How're those new to me?

"Ms. Takahashi! Detention for disrespecting your teachers! Till five o'clock."

What?! Trying to ask a question is disrespecting teachers?

With one look, I read her like an open book. She's trying to intimidate me so I won't try to prove that I have better English than her again. Well she did exactly the opposite. She just lit a fire.

"Oh you just made my bucket list." I whisper as I sit down.

At lunch.

"You guys wanna go see Ryunoshin's race after school? I heard from him that his event starts at four." I say while eating my bento.

"Yeah, we are. But don't you have detention?" Ichigo asked.

"No walls can bound me." I say with a sly smirk, "just go there and I'll meet up with you guys."

"If you say so." Haruki says with worry plastered on his face.

"Um...excuse me?" I hear a small voice to my left so I turned to two petite girls with cute short haircuts. They look like sisters! How come I've never noticed them in class? Oh right, I barely remember a few names or faces in this class.

"Yes?" they flinch when I reply. People getting randomly scared at me is starting to get to me. Even though I like the feeling of authority, I still want to be a normal teenager.

"W-we have a question on our English homework, a-and Ms. Satoshi is out, so...please?"

I gestured them to come closer, they handed me their notebooks.

My eye twitched when I can't believe how easy it was. I let out a small sigh, before twisting around and handing the work to Miyuki, she has a much longer patience span, she should be better at this.

Just as I thought, she smiled sheepishly before explaining those works to the two girls who were listening intently.

"Why? Can't you do those?" Takeshi asked out of curiosity.

"It is far beyond my temper span to explain such kindergarten-levelled work." I respond after the two girls left. I wouldn't want to damage their self-esteem too much.

"Kindergarten level?" Ichigo and Haruki questions as Haruki took out our English textbook.

"Yes." I state with a blank face, and finished my last bite of bento.

Miyuki's PoV

"Whoa...." I still couldn't help but gasp in awe at the track and field sections of the school.

Mitsuko's missing out right now!

"There he is!" Ryuzo exclaimed excitedly as he pointed towards the tracks. Where six other boys were lined up with Ryunoshin and are warming up.

Just then, his eyes flickered our way and spotted us. I waved to him energetically and he grinned back.

I glanced around, and as soon as I saw Sae sitting at the bleachers, I couldn't help but let out a small squeal.

"What's up?" Haruki asked when he noticed.

"It's just so adorable! How Ryuno wants to get Sae's attention." I say as I clasp my hands together.

Instantly, Haruki's face clouded over again.

Ichigo patted his best friend on the shoulder, "don't worry so much, push down your sister complex for her own good, okay?"

"B-But..! Sae has always said she'd marry her big brother when she grows up...." Haruki mumbled. Which I found extremely cute of him. I wish I had an older brother like this.

"I'm like, the only only child there is anywhere." I sigh.

"Not true. Isn't Mitsuko an only child too?" Ichigo asks.

"...she isn't...." I let out in a whisper that all the guys' eyes widened at.

"She has a sister, whom I think is about eight years old now. Though she probably doesn't remember." I say quietly.

"What...." Takeshi was at a loss for words, so were everyone else.

A gun shot interrupted us.

"The race is starting!" Ryuzo shouted out.
