Melody Time (1948)

Wow this was a surprise of a package film. I always wanna to see this one because of Johnny Appleseed and Pacos Bill and it was not disappointing.

Alright, let's start this.

What I really liked the most about this package film is "The Legend of Johnny Appleseed" and "Pacos Bill." Which I think are honestly the best segments in this film.

Let's start with Johnny Appleseed.

This animated short musical segment made me cry at the end. I was not expecting that at all! The animation was nice to look at, very fluid. Even the songs where catchy, I should probably put them on my Spotify playlist. If they are on there.

'Pecos Bill' was not what I was expecting. For example, I did NOT expect to see Bobby Driscoll (Peter Pan himself...RIP Bobby. Disney did you dirty) and Luana Patten (from "Song of the South", "Fun and Fancy Free" and "So Dear to My Heart") ON TOP OF THAT, Roy Rogers and his horse Trigger?!?!?

WHAT!?!? THAT'S CRAZY!

The segment was fun with very wild and cartoonist animation and very interesting on a retelling of the Taxes legend.

And then there is Slue Foot Sue. I think she's pretty awesome, besides the horse being jealous of her.

This woman shows up riding a catfish! WHATTTT!?!?!?!? I don't see Bill riding a catfish.

Sparky: But he did ride and roped a tornado.

Rewrite: Right, he did do that. Sue is also NOT afraid to get her hands dirty and powdering her nose afterwards.

Anyway, why is nobody saying that Johnny Appleseed is a Disney Princess? Animals are constantly surrounding him JUST LIKE A DISNEY PRINCESS?

LET'S MAKE A PETITION TO MAKE JOHNNY APPLESEED THE NEXT DISNEY PRINCESS!!!!
