No matter how much I've longer for it...

A young boy was being dragged through the streets of the Satellite by a large looking man.  A look of anger was present on his face as he eventually tossed the boy against the wall growled at him.

???: Grrrrr.... you damned brat?! How many times do I have to tell you?!

Soft sobs could be heard from the child as he slowly got up and looked at the man as he continued to shout at him. Reaching into his pocket the man pulled out a deck of cards.

???: What did I tell you about this, huh?! How many time do I have to repeat myself you damn brat?! How many times are you going to disobey me!? Answer me, (Y/N)!!!

The young child scared of what could happen could only stutter as the older man glared down at the young boy.

(Y/N): I-I-I'm sorry...

???: Sorry?! SORRY?! That's not going to fix anything you brat!!

In a swift motion the older male kicked the young child in his gut causing him to be knocked back against the wall behind him.

???: I go out of my way to take in a useless brat like you... all I ask is you make me money to help me out, but no... this is how you treat me?! The man who takes care of you?! You know Sector Security outlawed dueling for trash like us?! You know what the punishment is don't you?!

(Y/N): I-I-I know...

???: Then why?! Why the hell do you continue on like this?!

(Y/N): B-b-b...

???: Stop stuttering damnit?!

The older male raised his hand as he was about to hit the young boy again causing him to flinch as he covered his face, fear ever present in his eye.

???: Tch... this isn't even worth my time... I never wanna see you collecting duel monster cards again do you here me?!

(Y/N):... B-but they're my friends...

In that moment the only thing that could be heard was complete silence. The older male was shaking as he stood in front of the boy, in that split second the older male lashed out and punched the young boy.

(Y/N): G-aaahhhhhh?!

This caused the young boy to roll back quite a bit until he eventually crashed into a wall. Footsteps could be heard as the older male continued to walk towards the kid on the floor.

???:Did you talk back to me? Let me teach you what happens when you talk back to me!?

The older man then repeatedly started to kick and stomp on the child as he laid their defenseless on the ground. The young child began to scream out in pain as bruises and wounds began to form all around him. Blood even began to drip from his nose and a couple other places on his body.

???: This is to teach you that us trash here at the Satellite, we don't have a regular life we just do what we're told and I'll be damned if you bring trouble to me just because of this deck!

With one final kick the older man knocked the boy against a wall. He then turned around and was about to walk away until the young boy grabbed his leg in desperation.

???: Get your hands off of me...!

He said in a dark tone and he slightly turned back to glare at the child as he tried to yank his leg away. (Y/N), however held on as if he was holding on for dear life. While the older male was shouting for the younger one to let go, the younger one whispered something.

???: Let go already you damned brat?!

(Y/N): G-giv..... t-t.... b-b-bac....

???: What was that?!

(Y/N): I SAID GIVE THEM BACK!! GIVE ME BACK MY PRECIOUS FRIENDS!!!

With a shout of courage the young boy eventually bit the older males leg in an attempt to get his precious cards back.

???: A-AGGGHHH?! YOU DAMNED BRAT?! THAT'S IT!

With one final effort he kicked his leg forward resulting in the boy to be launched back. He then glared at the boy and stepped on his head.

???: You think you can do whatever you want?! Fine, I'll just show you how cold the world actually is!!!

In one swift motion, time seemed to have slowed down as the young boy could only watch the older males action, the older male then ripped the deck of cards in half. The boys eyes widen in shock as tears threatened to slip out, the older man then threw the ripped cards in the air allowing them to get blown away.

???: How do you like that you damned brat?!

Still feeling enraged the man kept stomping on the child, however the only difference this time is that the child no longer cried out in pain. He just laid their silently taking it all until the older male was finished.

???: Thats enough for a lesson. Make sure to have the quota ready for next week, if not I'll make sure you experience something worse then this.

With that said the older man then walked away without an ounce of guilt to what he just did to the young boy, how cruel. Tears streamed down the younger males cheeks, but not for the reason one would think. Yes, the boys body screamed out in pain expecting a reaction from the body, however that was not the cause of the young boys tears. The cause was the pain of losing his precious duel monsters.

No matter how many times I attempt to reach out to it... it's always out of reach...

The young boy was fading in and out of consciousness, as this was occurring a certain feeling rose within himself, a wicked one. A dark thought crossed the young boys mind.

W-why do I have to deal with this?!

With each thought, he could hear his heart beat louder and louder. These dark thoughts consumed the young boy as he started to crave different types of things. Anger, rage, hate, greed, jealousy, wrath, and revenge, these dark thoughts were close to bringing this young boy to fall into depravity if it had not been for a soft call in the distance.

This call...?

In that short instance the young boys eyes shot open. The dark thoughts that he had been thinking suddenly vanished as he tried with all his strength to get back up. Ignoring the pain that raged through his body he eventually stood up and called out to the voice he heard.

(Y/N): H-hello?!

The young lad was met with silence, despite that he tried to call out to the voice again, because he without a doubt in his mind  knew that he heard someone.

(Y/N): I-I'm here!! I-I heard your cry!! W-where a-are you?!

Once again hearing nothing the young boy was about to walk around and search, but then he heard the soft cry once again.

(Y/N): I-it's okay... you don't have to be scared, I won't hurt you I promise!

The young boy shouted looking around for the source of the cry until his attention was brought to the sky.

(Y/N): W-what is this...?!

He said shocked as he saw a small object slowly floating down gently glowing a brilliant blue color. It was kinda blinding the way it glowed until it eventually stopped in front of the young boy. It stayed there floating in the air, the young boy not knowing what else to do cupped his hands and put it under the glowing object. As he did that he heard a voice, the young boy was confused by the sudden voice and began to look around for the source.

(Y/N): H-hello?! W-where are you?

The voice then spoke again, this time his attention was brought back to the object the fell from the sky. He focused back on the object and upon closer inspection... it was a card?!

(Y/N): S-so you were the one talking to me...? W-who are you..?

The young boy asked, silence was the only thing that was heard, however oddly enough the boy received an answer to his question.

(Y/N): S-so you don't know, huh...? Do you know where you come from...?

Again, his question was met with silence, but just as the last time from the silence he received an answer once again.

(Y/N): S-so you're lost just like me, huh... well it's okay don't be sad!! You can stay with me!

The boy went silent as he awaited for the card to answer and just like the last two times he received an answer.

(Y/N): Of course it's okay! I'm not going to leave you all alone. Besides maybe we can even be friends...?

The boy asked the card, again getting only silence as a response. A look of confusion then crossed the boys face, then a bright smiled replace his look of confusion.

(Y/N): Is that so... you want to find you're friends. Heh you don't know who you are, but all you do know is that you want to find you're friends. Well in that case I'll help you!

The young boy closed his eyes waiting for an answer, when he finally got one he opened his eyes once again.

(Y/N): I'm sure! My name is (Y/N)! I promise I'll help you find the rest of your friends! So please be my friend too, okay!?

He said brightly emitting a warmth that the card never felt before. The boy eventually grabbed the card with his own hand causing the light to vanish within him and reveal the face of the card itself.

But... even if it's out of you're reach... and even though it seems so far... keep reaching and I'm sure one day you'll finally grasp what it is you've longer for.

-Location: Satellite-

That was a long time ago, ever since then I grew a bit more distant from other people. Seeing as most people only use others to gain something for themselves and I didn't want to deal with that so I set off on my own. I had grown distrusting of other people because of my past and because of that I'm here now. It didn't matter to me, however because I only had one goal in mind and that was to keep my promise.

It was always like this in the Satellite, especially when it came to people like me.

It was night time and the sounds of multiple sirens could be heard as police cars and duel runners with lights blinking between blue and red could only mean one thing, Sector Security was on the tail of someone. As Sector Security surrounded the building of there pursuit target they could hear something going on.

-BBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM-

A large explosion could be heard from within the building as more and more officers rushed the building unbeknownst to them of the chaos that was occurring on the inside. Inside the building three Sector Security officers were dueling against a single lad wearing a red hat, black shirt, red over jacket, black jean, and brown boots.

The duel was already halfway in, both sides were at a standstill until the Sector Security officers pulled a decent Synchro Summon.

Sector Security Officer ???: Heh, this duel is over!

Sector Security Guard ???: It's time to end this and bring you in to the Facility for illegal use and possession of duel monsters!

Sector Security Guard ???: There's no running from this, Satellite trash!! Now attack Iron Chain Dragon and Iron Chain Repairman!! End this duel!!

(Y/N): Hmph... to assume something that has yet to happen... how foolish. I activate my trap card!!

I shouted as I pressed a button on my duel disk activating said trap, it flipped over to reveal.

(Y/N): Mirror Force!! In case you didn't know Mirror Force destroys all attack position monster you control!

Sector Security Officer ???: W-what how could we let this happen?!

Sector Security Guard ???: Relax we still have a chance to win this duel! We still have eight thousand life points there's no way he can win like this!

Sector Security Guard ???: Y-yeah your right!!

(Y/N): I wouldn't be too sure about that..it's my turn now.

(Y/N): I draw.

I said as I drew a card from my duel disk and in a single glance of the card, I already planned my next move to put an end to this duel.

Sector Security Officer: Heh what could you possibly do against us three.

(Y/N): I'll show you. By showing you one Blue-Eyes White Dragon in my hand I can special summon this!

I said as I showed one Blue-Eyes White Dragon and then proceeded to summon my monster which was the mighty:

(Y/N): I summon Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon in attack mode!

Sector Security Guard: Hmph that's pretty impressive but that still isn't enough to defeat us!

(Y/N): You guys just never learn do you, next I active the spell card Silver Cry! Which allows me to target one Blue-Eyes White Dragon in my graveyard and special summon it onto the field in attack position!

Sector Security Officer ???: W-w-what?! Two powerful monsters in a single turn?!

(Y/N): I'm not done yet, rise my mighty dragon!!

A large and beautiful white dragon with blue eyes then rose from the grave and flew high and mighty behind me while letting out a fierce roar.

(Y/N): That's not it either! I summon Keeper of Dragon Magic in attack mode!

A knight equipped with blue armor wielding a spear then appeared besides my dragons. I could only smirk as I look at the remaining two cards in my hand.

Sector Security Officer: Hmph, looks like your math is off, we'll still survive with two hundreds life points!

(Y/N): Normally you'd be right if it was for this!

I revealed one of my cards, which happened to be Sage with Eyes of Blue. I then proceed to discard my card to the graveyard.

(Y/N): Sorry old friend, but you'll lead us to victory!

Sector Security Guard ???: Heh how so?!

(Y/N): You'll see, by sending Sage with Eyes of Blue to the graveyard and one effect monster on the field, I can special summon one Blue-Eyes monster from my deck! Using this effect I send my Keeper of Dragon Magic to the graveyard and I pick Blue-Eyes Solid Dragon to special summon from my deck!

Another magnificent white dragon appeared with solid blue eyes and rainbow glittered wings arose next to my other dragons stirring up some wind in the process. With this I gave a small smile as my hats brim covered my eyes, knowing I completed my attack force.

(Y/N): Now with this I end this duel! Go my monster!! White Lightning Attack!

My three dragons charged up their attack as a blue beam came from each of their mouth causing the three officers from Sector Security to panic in fear.

Sector Security Officer: I-I-impossible!?! How could three of us lose to someone like you?!

(Y/N): The likes of me, huh...? End this!

My mighty dragons then released their attacks ending this duel in the process.

The officers from Sector Security all fell down to the ground defeated. I started to walk away until I heard one of the officers speak.

Sector Security Officer ???: Do you really think you can escape this time?! We have you surrounded!

(Y/N): I'll escape with the power of my deck even if it means dueling everyone trying to catch me.

????: HEHEHEHEHE!!! I don't think you'll have to worry about that young boy!

My attention was brought to the new voice, as I turned my head to look at the newcomer, I saw a strange looking man. It was a short man who looked like a clown, wearing red lipstick, has two red lines running vertically over his eyes, and spiky purple hair.

(Y/N): Oh? And why would that be?

????: Hehe, you'll find out soon enough all I ask is that you come with me.

(Y/N): I'll have to say no to your offer.

????: Oh, I'm must insist after all you have no means of escape.

(Y/N): You'll be surprised to see how "persistent" I am when it comes to escaping. Enough talk.

I said coldly with no emotion as I lifted my head enough for the visor of my to be raised up revealing my (E/C) eyes glaring at the small purpled haired man in front of me. I then proceed to raise the arm that had my duel disk on, insinuating a duel. He only started laughing once again despite how serious I am.

????: Hehehehehe?! You know for a boy as young as you, you sure do have an intimidating look and while I would love to crush that spirit of yours sadly I'm on orders. Besides I believe we have something you may want...?

(Y/N): Oh? And how would you know what I want?

????: You'll be surprised at how much our Director knows. He even prepared a little gift for you.

He said as he held up an envelope with some writing on it. He then proceeded to throw the envelope towards me and as it finally reached me I caught it. I was skeptical as I looked at it and then looked back at the clown.

????: Hehehehe, my, my ever the skeptic. It's no trap, open it if you want to find out more about what you want.

I didn't trust his word, but at this point I didn't really have much to lose so I did what he said. Whatever he's scheming, whether it's to stall time or some other option, I won't go down without a fight.

Opening the envelope I saw an invitational of sorts for a tournament called the Fortune Cup, but there was more in the envelope? Looking through its contents I eventually found a card?! This card shocked me when I saw it, it was the last card I was looking for!

(Y/N): The finally copy of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon?!

I exclaimed as I dropped the letter and the invitation only focusing on the card. I then put it away in my deck and gave a soft smile.

(Y/N): I did it! I'm one step closer to finding all your friends.

I said confusing the short clown man as he only stare dat me in confusion. Regaining my focus, I turned my attention back towards him.

(Y/N): Whats you're deal, Clown? How did you know I was looking for this card?

????: Hehehe, we know a lot about you and your deck, (Y/N). The Director has know about you for quite some time.

(Y/N): And what does this director want with me?

????: He wants you to join our Fortune Cup and test your skills amongst the very best.

(Y/N): Is that all...? Hmph get lost and tell you're director that I'm not interested.

????: My, my such a cold lad and after we went through the trouble of giving you a gift..

(Y/N): As much as I do appreciate this gift I owe you nothing. I would give it back, but this card doesn't belong with you.

????: My also selfish I see. Even after taking the gift you still act like this. What a handful. Oh well, the Director did anticipate this. He also said to tell you this if you turned down all his other offers, don't you want to know the purpose of the cards with Eyes of Blue?

(Y/N):........?!

????: Five years ago, the Director released a certain card into the wind. He believed that destiny would bring it towards its chosen owner. That card happened to be your most treasured card, Maiden with Eyes of Blue. There's more to this story but I'll give you that small hint. If you still don't wish to join us very well then, but the Director would like to speak to you.

(Y/N): Is that so...?

????: Yes, it is. Well then I'll give you a day to think about your decision, but I must insist on this offer. You're cards have a much more importance then you may believe.

As he was about to walk away I already made up my mind and called out to him before he got too far away.

(Y/N): No need to wait. I already have my answer, take me to this director of yours.

I said as I started to walk behind him which seemed to have caught him off by surprise. He then grew a smile of mischief.

????: My, my hehehehe what a sudden change of heart?! Couldn't help but be curious could you?!

(Y/N): Hmph... I just want answers. Besides I'm still missing cards for my deck and I promised my friend that I'll reunite her with her friends no matter what, however there's only so much I can do... so I plan on using this director for my own needs.

????: Very well then. My name is Lazar, it seems like we'll be working together for some time now, (Y/N) (L/N). Though I may not know the full extent on the reasons why the Director wants you I can tell you this. He wants you for two reasons, your skill as a duelist and because of what fate might have in store for you.

(Y/N): Whatever. In the end I'm only using you people never forget that.

Lazar: You sure are an interesting brat that's for sure.

With that I followed the strange man known as Lazar out of the building which was currently infested with multiple Officer from Sector Security. We then proceeded to hop onto a limousine which would take us to an undisclosed location. I couldn't have cared less however as long as I get the answer I want.

<Current Time>
-Location: Neo Domino City-

After what seemed like a long limousine ride, which led to a pretty long helicopter ride I now found myself within a large building in Neo Domino City. The building itself was impressive, but it didn't compare to the view one had of the city.

(Y/N): I didn't think trash like me from the Satellite was allowed in Neo Domino City.

Lazar: And you would be right to assume that. Normally you wouldn't be admitted in Neo Domino City, but you are a very rare exception.

(Y/N): Hmph.. it doesn't matter, just take me to this director of yours.

Lazard: Now, now there's no reason to be impatient... you little brat.

(Y/N): Whatever, take me to this Director of yours.

Lazar: Very well.

Walking through the hallways of this large building we eventually came to what I believed to be the door that led to this directors office. Lazar walked ahead of me and proceeded to open up the door by showing some identification. Upon opening Lazar motioned for me to follow him which I did and as we entered I noticed quite the spacious room, with large windows looking over Neo Domino City, and a large desk in the middle of the room with a person sitting at it. The person sitting at the desk was an older tall pale skinned man, with long grey hair that reached into his lower back, with one section of it tied into a ponytail.

I suddenly felt my heart beat... I then began to feel some pain in my left eye as I locked eyes with this older looking man. I quickly raised my hand to cover my left eye. I then decided to ignore the pain as I spoke to him.

(Y/N): So I take it that you're the Director?

Director ???: Yes, that is who I am and you're the young duelist from the Satellite, (Y/N) (L/N).

(Y/N): Yeah that's me.

Director ???: Excellent, my name is Rex Goodwin, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.

(Y/N): Enough with the formalities. Tell me what I want to know.

Director Goodwin: Now then, there's no reason to act in this way after all this is a momentous occasions. It isn't everyday that someone from the Satellite gets a privilege like this. A boy you're age must be ecstatic about this wouldn't you say.

(Y/N): Sorry, but I no longer have any interest in things like this.

Director Goodwin: Ahh yes, would that be due to the abuse that you had to endure from your foster parent?

(Y/N):........?!

Director Goodwin: Or would it have to do with the many times your were assaulted for illegally possessing duel monsters cards.

(Y/N): How do you...?!

Director Goodwin: Or perhaps it's because of what happened to your foster father-...

(Y/N): Enough!!

Director Goodwin: Struck a nerve?

(Y/N): How do you know all of that..?

Director Goodwin: You shouldn't underestimate Sector Security and our ability to gather intel. Which brings us here. Do you know why I called you here (Y/N).

(Y/N): No idea.

Director Goodwin: It's because you were chosen.

(Y/N): Oh? And pray tell what exactly was I chosen for?

Director Goodwin: By the very card you wield in your deck, Maiden with Eyes of Blue.

(Y/N): What? What are you taking about?

Director Goodwin: Do you not find it odd why a card fell from the sky right into your hands?

(Y/N):... What does it matter how I got her?

Director Goodwin: Her...? Never mind that, what matters is that it ended up in your hands because it was determined by destiny.

(Y/N): What are your getting at?

Director Goodwin: I was the one who released that card into the air five years ago.

(Y/N):.....?!

Director Goodwin: I believed that the card would go to the one who would help it fulfill it's destiny.

(Y/N): And why should I believe what you have to say...?

Director Goodwin: Ask your card.

(Y/N): So you know about my ability too...

Director Goodwin: Yes we do and before you ask no we don't doubt you. There are many times recorded in the past of certain duelist or individuals being able to hear their duel monsters talk.

"Maiden with Eyes of Blue: I believe he's telling the truth, (Y/N) dearest."

I suddenly heard a voice and turned to look over to see a very familiar sight appear right next to me. It was my Maiden with Eyes of Blue duel monster spirit.

(Y/N): How can you tell?

I asked her, however to Goodwin and Lazar it looked as if I was taking to no one. Lazar was about to make a comment but stopped as soon as Goodwin raised his hand.

"Maiden with Eyes of Blue: He... there's something about him that feels familiar there's also something about him...  not to mention I feel it... the presence of one of my friends they're close."

(Y/N): I see. In that case I'll listen to what you have to say Goodwin.

Director Goodwin: Excellent, I see that you are more reasonable then your reputation.

(Y/N): Hmph... just how much do you know about me?

Director Goodwin: Would you like the answer to that question? After all if we will be working together from now on I would like to establish a connection of trust between us.

(Y/N): Working together... right just answer the question.

Director Goodwin: Five years ago I decided to release that card and five others to the wind to allow destiny to unite them with their destined duelist.

(Y/N): Five other cards?

Director Goodwin: I'll tell you about them later. Anyways I knew that the person this card would choose would eventually appear one day with one goal in mind, to attain the rest of the cards.

(Y/N): Hmph... what are you some type of fortune teller..?

Director Goodwin: Far from it, I knew this because that card and the other four have a very important role to play.

(Y/N): So you know about the others...?

Director Goodwin: Yes, for they were all once in my possession before. I knew whoever Maiden with Eyes of Blue, would seek the others.

(Y/N):.... Continue.

Director Goodwin: Someone entrusted these cards to me along with the five other cards I mentioned earlier simply because they all share a common fate, one common destiny.

(Y/N): And what would that be..?

Director Goodwin: To unite the Signers and summon the Crimson Dragon.

(Y/N): Signers...?

Director Goodwin: As I would figure. You wouldn't know about them would you, but I would've thought your card would have informed you about their eternal vow.

"Maiden with Eyes of Blue: Forgive me, (Y/N) Dearest, I-I cannot remember anything at all, all I remember is that I need to untie my friends."

(Y/N): I see, its okay don't stress yourself out. Goodwin, when I found Maiden with Eyes of Blue she couldn't recall her past or anything of the like.

Director Goodwin: I see. That's why you don't know of the current threat and the sworn duty of the Eyes of Blue cards.

(Y/N): Enough with the games. What purpose are you talking about!?

Director Goodwin: Simmer down, I will explain everything in due time, however for now you should know that a great threat approaches everyone in New Domino and the Satellite alike. To fight off this darkness, we need the power of the Crimson Dragon.

(Y/N):.....?!

Director Goodwin: I know that because of your past, because of the cruelty that you've endured as a child you choose not to form any bonds with anyone. The only ones you do trust are your duel monsters, which is why you set off on your own after what happened to your foster father to look for the Maidens so called "friends".

(Y/N):..........

Director Goodwin: But surely you cannot turn your back away from all these people especially when their lives are at stake. So I ask will you please lend us your strength in this up coming battle!

(Y/N): Tch... I don't owe anything to anybody... but even for a person like me, I too have people I want to protect... just tell me one thing. What is this eternal vow that you keep mentioning?

Director Goodwin: It's a vow between your duel monsters and the Crimson Dragon. There's a history for each duel monster, but yours hold an important significance in this up coming battle. Five-thousand years ago there was an ancient civilizations that was threatened  by this darkness, but they called upon the Crimson Dragon to save them.

(Y/N): An ancient civilization...?

Director Goodwin: Yes, they called themselves the People of the Stars. To answer they're prayers the Crimson Dragon came down from the heavens to answer they're prayers. It chose five individuals to bare its mark and bestowed them a dragon to battle against this upcoming darkness.

(Y/N): And what does this have to do with my cards?

Director Goodwin: Even with this new hope the forces of evil proved to be a troublesome foe, which is why the Crimson Dragon blessed five followers of the Signers and gave them the ability to control one of the fiercest dragons in history. To win this endless war we needed more power.

(Y/N): The Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

Director Goodwin: Correct. The Crimson Dragon, along with the five Signers and the five Blessed Warriors waged war against this darkness.

(Y/N): And my guess is we won.

Director Goodwin: Correct. The war against the darkness ended in the Crimson Dragon's victory as they managed to seal the darkness away, however this would only be a temporary solution. Now this darkness that was sealed so long ago now threatens to escape and continue its reign of terror.

(Y/N): So what do you want from me?

Director Goodwin: (Y/N), destiny has brought you here and untied you with your deck. I want you to stand by the Signers when the time comes and help them defeat this darkness once and for all.

(Y/N): Hmph... even if I'm not a Signer?

Director Goodwin: In the past this fact didn't matter, the five Blessed Warriors followed the Signers into battle despite not being Signers themselves, and now that you posses them, I ask that you take a stand now.

(Y/N): You mean?!

Director Goodwin: Correct, your five cards. Master with Eyes of Blue, Protector with Eyes of Blue, Sage with Eyes of Blue, Priestess with Eyes of Blue, and last of all Maiden with Eyes of Blue, were based on the five Blessed Warriors who has the power to tame dragons.

(Y/N):..... You expect me to-...

He cut me off as he stood up from his deck and walked towards the window while over looking Neo Domino City.

Director Goodwin: But it is the truth, just as the five Blessed Warriors, so were the dragons that the five Signers controlled over were turned into cards.

(Y/N):..... There's still more that your not saying, huh...?

Director Goodwin: You should understand my motives and reason for keeping secrets. So I ask one final time, will you join us in this time of need?

(Y/N): Hmph... Maiden tells me that you have another one of her friends here.

Director Goodwin: I see so she could sense this as well, I had hope to keep this as a final bargaining chip. How interesting, the tale of the Maiden has always been an interesting one considering in the past it was said her soul was bonded with the Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

(Y/N): It doesn't matter... I'll do as you want me too all I ask is you give me that card.

Director Goodwin: Very well, however I will also add some benefits your way. I ask for you to risk your life in this battle and for me to just give you this is not enough. You will be compensated for your services and you will also be receiving a residency from n Neo Domino City. Does this work for you?

(Y/N): Whatever.

Director Goodwin: Very well. Lazar.

Lazar: Yes? What is it that you need from me,
Director Goodwin?

Director Goodwin: Could you guide our young guest to his quarters that we have prepared for him?

He said as he turned away from the window and then proceeded to walk back to his desk and pulled out something from his desk, it was a case.

Lazar: You needn't even ask. Come on boy.

Director Goodwin: Here you go, (Y/N) as promised. You are free to roam around Neo Domino City, but please don't try to cause any trouble.

He asked as he held out his hand with the dark blue case in his hand. I then proceeded to grab the case and then proceeded to walk away, however before I managed to walk out I slightly turned back and glared at him.

(Y/N): Before I leave, I have a question, what about the Five Signers?

Director Goodwin: We are on way to make preparations to untie them.

(Y/N): I see does it have to do with this Fortune Cup?

Director Goodwin: Perceptive. It is a ruse to the public to provide entertainment by giving randomly selected duelist a chance to duel the king, but in truth it's to unite the Five Signers.

(Y/N): I see. Seeing as how I got an invitation I take it you want me to participate, huh...?

Director Goodwin: Your reputation proceeds you. Yes, I fully intend for you to give these chosen duelist who we believe to be Signers a challenge to push them to their limit and reveal their mark of the dragon. A mark that no doubt proves that they are a Signer.

(Y/N): Hmph... Very well.

Director Goodwin: I expect great things from you, (Y/N). I will fill you in on the rest once the members of Iliaster all join together at last.

(Y/N): Iliaster... Hmph whatever I'll be on my way.

Lazar: Quite, wait in the hallway I'd like to discuss something with the Director before we leave.

(Y/N): Whatever.

I said as I walked out of the room, however I kept close to the door so I would be able to hear what they would talk about.

Lazar: I don't mean to go against what you have said Director Goodwin, but are you sure this boy is the one..?

Director Goodwin: That choice was never ours to make. He was chosen, though I didn't expect him to end up with all five cards. He's even began to assimilate with his duel monster spirits.

Lazar: Assimilate...?

Director Goodwin: Yes, his very soul is becoming intertwined with his duel monsters. In time they will be a part of him and him they that also means their powers will become his. I believe he even sensed the Fifth Signer as he came in.

Lazar: Really?! A young boy like him?!

Director Goodwin: How curios wouldn't you say. A young boy, who made big splashes all over the Satellite. Getting into illegal duels with all types of people. Now chosen to help protect this world.

Lazar: Hmmm even so he still is a little troublesome brat.

Director Goodwin: Now then, don't be so judgmental of our guest. After all he has had a troublesome past. Now go don't keep him waiting any longer, Lazar.

Lazar: Yes, Director.

As they finished their conversation, I began to walk down the half to get ahead of the clown while I could only think one thing.

I'm merging with my cards? Oh well it doesn't matter what happens as long as I'm closer to uniting my friends.

I thought as I brought out the case Goodwin gave me and pulled out the card that was within the dark blue case.

<A Week Later>
-Location: Neo Domino City-

It's been a week since I've been brought to Neo Domino City, and I've been getting used to the life here. After being briefed on everything that Goodwin had planned for the tournament, I decided to take a look around. While scouring the web for information on the Crimson Dragon I found some interesting rumors online about a duelist called the Black Rose. Apparently she's a witch that can cause actual damage with her duel monster, and rumor is that she's suppose to make an appearance in some alley where people who snuck in from the Satellite duel.

"Maiden with Eyes of Blue: (Y/N) dear? Are you sure you should be looking for someone like this."

Maiden said as she suddenly appeared right next to me. I finished readying up before giving her an answer to her question.

(Y/N): Beats waiting here doing nothing until the tournament starts.

"Maiden with Eyes of Blue: But... I cannot help but worry about what will happen..."

(Y/N): Thanks Maiden, but try not to worry to much it is just a rumor. Anyways how do you feel about all this?

"Maiden with Eyes of Blue: What do you mean?"

(Y/N): The Crimson Dragon, the evil that's yet to come and not to mention your past.

"Maiden with Eyes of Blue: To be honest, I'm not sure what to make of all of this. I find some truth in Goodwin words, but I still feel like I'm missing something."

(Y/N): It's understandable, but you shouldn't force yourself to remember, let it flow naturally. Anyways we're one step closer to uniting our friends!

I said reminding her of the fact that we got another card, Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon. She gave a smile as she looked at me.

"Maiden with Eyes of Blue: Thank you, (Y/N) dearest, every time I look at you I'm reminded of a kindness I've felt before... it feels so nostalgic."

(Y/N): Don't mention it, after all we made a promise.

"Maiden with Eyes of Blue: Mhmm... thank you for keeping your word, Anyway please do be safe, I'll be with you whenever you call for me."

She said as she began to fade, I only smiled as I grabbed my deck and held it close to my heart. I then put it away in my deck pocket and got the final piece of my attire, my hat and went off. I then proceeded the go down an elevator and eventually left the building only to be met with the clown himself.

Lazar: Oh, speak of the devil, I was just about to come and get you.

(Y/N): What do you want, Clown?

Lazar: I told you my name is Lazar!! Anyways Director Goodwin wants you and the rest of the chosen duelist to gather for a meeting.

(Y/N): That so? Well tell him too bad. I agreed to compete in the Fortune Cup and unite the Signers, not to be his worker.

Lazar: I'm afraid I must heavily insist that you join.

(Y/N): I'm not going to repeat myself again, Clown.

Lazar: Sigh... what a troublesome brat you are... speaking of which where are you headed off to?

(Y/N): That's none of your concern.

Lazar: I really am losing my patients with you....

(Y/N): I couldn't care less, now if that's all leave me be.

Lazar: Aggh!!! I've just about had it with you!

(Y/N): And what are you going to do about it huh...?

I asked glaring at him. He sent a glare back and looked like he was about to do something but then decided against it.

Lazar: Consider yourself lucky to be someone chosen by the Director otherwise your fate would have certainly ended here.

(Y/N): I'm not the type to be intimidated by empty threats...

I said lastly as I began to walk past him. After a week working under Goodwin, I earned some cash and used some of it to order a cab to take me to my location. It took sometime before we actually arrived their considering that this was the outer most part of the city where trash can't enter the Neo Domino city but don't want to return to the Satellite, so they stay here in the slums. Upon arriving in a large empty street I paid the cab driver and was about to walk off until he spoke to me.

Cab Driver ???: Are you sure this is the place you want me to drop you off at lad? This isn't a place for kids.

(Y/N): No need for concern I can handle myself... I've dealt with worse places...

I whispered that last part to myself which seems to have gone on deaf ears. The cab driver only nodded and then went off to whatever business he had going on. After entering a few alleyways and taking a couple turns, I eventually made it to this dueling field where a whole bunch of people where dueling. These people where nothing special, though one of them did look familiar.

I feel like I've seen him before...?

I thought as I looked to one of the guys dueling he had yellow hair, a marker under his left eye, and he was wearing glasses.

Hmmm... was he a pro duelist? Maybe a past champion or runner up...? Was he related to someone famous...? Eh who cares.

I kept looking around to see if there was anyone special out of the lot of these, but sadly there was no one special.

???: Mister?

A young voice came calling out from behind the large crowd. I then looked over to see it was just two children one with brown hair and another with green hair.

What are children doing here...?

"Maiden with Eyes of Blue: You're not that much older yourself, (Y/N) Dearest."

Maiden said as she suddenly appear right next to me and began to look around. I was confused by their action until I felt a stinging pain in my left eye.

(Y/N): A-arrghhh!!

I winced in pain as I brought my left hand to its corresponding eye and began to look around for the cause of this pain.

"Maiden with Eyes of Blue: (Y/N)?! Are you alright?

(Y/N): Y-yeah... do you feel that...?

"Maiden with Eyes of Blue: I do... a familiar presence.. one that I haven't felt in so long... but I can't remember what exactly it was...."

Removing my hand from my eye, a change was noticed instantly by Maiden, my once (E/C) colored eye was now a calm blue, however before maiden could make a comment my gaze was drawn towards something. A bright red mark... something I could see very clearly as if my vision improved specifically to find this mark. Getting a better look at the person who had the mark I instantly noticed something familiar about him.

(Y/N): Is that.. Yusei? And that mark... could it be what Goodwin spoke of?! What this...?

Taking a closer look I saw the two children from before talking to the both of them, but that's not what got my attention, what caught my attention was the letter in Yusei hand.

(Y/N): That confirms it... Yusei... how odd that we should meet like this.

I was about to walk over towards them until I felt the same pain in my eye once again?! The cause Maiden to look at me with concern present on her face.

"Maiden with Eyes of Blue: (Y/N)?! What's wrong?!"

(Y/N): A-ARRGHH!!! T-this pain in my eye.... what is it?!

My left eye was once again glowing blue instead of it original color of (E/C) and just like last time my gaze was drawn towards someone else who hand the same red mark glowing on their arm. It was in a different shape then the one Yusei had but the resemblance was still there, which meant.

(Y/N): Whoever that person is that just appeared is a Signer too...

Just then the ground began to shake causing the crowd of people who were just watching a duel to panic and cause a scene.

???: AGHHH?!

???: It's the witch!!!

???: She'll make us disappear!!! RUNNN!!!!

They all shouted in union as they all run in fear for their lives. I couldn't help but be disgusted by their reaction.

Cowards...

I thought to myself as I looked at the new person who had just appeared. It was someone with long red hair, wearing a mask and a black cloak wrapper around their body. Just then a bunch of wind started to stir around this person, which just made them abandon the poor fool who was dueling this newcomer. To make things worse, black vines with thorns all over them began to ripe right through the concert causing massive destruction to the dueling field and many buildings around it.

-RRRRRRROOOOOOAAAAARRRRRR-

Just then a booming roar could be heard as the silhouette of a large dragon could be seen through the cloud of smoke that was caused by the damage earlier. A bright light then surrounded the duelist as they stood in front of their dragon, I then saw Yusei began to run towards the person while holding his right arm. A groups of people following right after him. There they stood face to face with the witch and her mighty dragon. I merely stood on the sidelines watching everything that transpired.

Witch ???: You too?!

The voice, which sounded very feminine all of a sudden said. This caught my attention seeing as her gaze fell upon Yusei's arm.

So she too is a Signer...

I then began walking towards them, with my duel disk equipped. They then began talking to one another, Yusei and the Witch.

Witch ???: It's a detestable mark!

She suddenly shouted as Yusei began walking closer to her, only for her to draw a card and then play it causing a large bright blue pillar of light to appear knocking everyone back, myself included. Just as the pillar vanished so did the Black Rose.

Spiky Blue Haired Man ???: S-she's gone?!

Old Man ???: What just happened? If she was a hologram, how was she able to blow us away with the power of a spell card?!

Brown Haired Kid ???: She really exists?'

Green Haired Kid ???: Thank goodness she didn't make us disappear...

Brown Haired Man ???: The witch's reaction when she saw you was interesting.

Yusei then brought up his hand and looked to see if he still had the mark but it vanished from his right arm.

Green Haired Kid ???: Ehhh?! It vanished?

Old Man ???: W-what a waste?!

Yusei: That witch probably also has the mark. The witch said, "You too."

(Y/N): And right you would be, Yusei.

My voice suddenly interrupted their conversation as they all looked towards me as I walked towards them, Yusei only gave a look of confusion.

Spiky Blue Haired Man ???: What... a kid?! What is he doing here?

Old Man ???: A long way from home aren't you buddy?

(Y/N): Quite old man.. my business isn't with you... it's with you.

I said pointing towards Yusei as he glared at me with a serious look on his face. I then looked past him and looked at all the destruction that was caused by the witch.

(Y/N): Ehh... so this is the power of a Signer..? Goodwin sure is messing with some dangerous things... wouldn't you say Yusei?

Yusei: Goodwin?!

Old Man ???: He knows about the Mark of the Dragon!?

Brown Haired Man ??!: And why does he keep talking like he knows you? Do you know him, Yusei?

Yusei: I've never met him before.

(Y/N): Ahh you'd be wrong about that we've have met, but I doubt you'd remember me... after all it has been a while.

Yusei: We've met before...? Who are you and why do you know about this mark?

(Y/N): Wouldn't you like to find out?

Yusei:......

Yusei and I kept solid eye contact. I was glaring at him and he only gave me his usual serious look that he had.

Yusei: Very well, if you're not willing to talk then we're done here.

(Y/N): You expect me to let you walk away after all this. No... I have something different in mind. Tell you what duel me. If you win I'll tell you all know, but if I win you owe me a favor. How's that sound?

Yusei: A favor? Just who are you?

(Y/N): I refuse to say unless you duel me that is, so what do you say? You in?

I said as I gripped my fist and activated my duel disk as I held it up. Yusei only gave me one last look before turning away and refusing.

Yusei: I refuse. I have no reason to duel you and even if you have answers I don't, I'll figure them out myself.

(Y/N): Tch... you're as calm as you always were... no point in fighting a pointless duel ehh? Or is it that you don't see me as a challenge... it doesn't matter what it is duel me now!

Green Haired Kid ???: Hey what's your deal leave Yusei alone!!

I then brought my glare towards the kid who just shouted that. He stood up with his duel disk glaring at me.

(Y/N): Shut up. I don't have business with you I have it with him.

I said referring to Yusei as I began to walk towards him, only for the kid to block my way.

(Y/N): Move or be moved...

I spoke in a dark tone as I continued to glare at him but he didn't back down. Considering I was a couple inches taller then him I was looking down at him, however he stood his ground.

(Y/N): Hmph you have guts kid... but this doesn't involve you. Now leave before I make you regret standing up to me.

Brown Haired Kid ???: O-Oi Leo... m-maybe you should back down...

Leo: No way am I backing down from this jerk!

Spiky Blue Haired Man ???: Leo, just leave the kid alone he's not a problem.

Brown Haired Man ???: He's right. This is a waste of time. Come on let's get you home kid.

As they said those words it struck a nerve.. bringing back some unpleasant memories of the past.

"You damn brat?! You're useless and a waste of time?!"

"Why did I ever waste time on you!!"

"I should've let you rot on the streets!"

(Y/N): I'm not just some kid you can ignore!! Yusei duel me!!

I shouted as I had an enraged look on my face.... remembering that bastard! It was enough for me to charge at Yusei only for Leo to get in the way again.

(Y/N): Get out of my way!!

Leo: No I won't let you! Yusei is my friend and I won't let someone like you bother him!

His words struck a nerve as I had enough of this... I could hear Maiden telling me to calm down in my mind, but I ignored her letting my rage take over!

(Y/N): Don't look down on me... I'll show you that I'm not playing around by beating you at a duel!!

Leo: Fine then I'll show you that I'm not a pushover and that I've grown since my last duel with Yusei!!

I said glaring at Leo as he began to stare me down too. We both then raised our duel disk and we began our duel.

I said in a condescending tone as Leo only brushed it off and drew a card. He then looked at his card a gave a bright smile.

Leo: Then I place one card face down and end my turn! It's your move cranky pants!

(Y/N): Take this more serious kid cause if you don't I'll make you regret it! I draw! Hmph by revealing one Blue-Eyes White Dragon in my hand I can special summon this monster! Rise Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon!

I said as I revealed one Blue-Eyes White Dragon in my hand and summoned Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon. A white dragon then appeared right in front of me and let out a fierce roar.

Yusei: A Blue-Eyes White Dragon?!

Spiky Blue Haired Man ???: How does that kid have a monster that powerful?!

Old Man ???: That card is just as beautiful as the rumors foretold?!?

Yusei: That's not all... if Leo doesn't figure something out he'll be in a world of pain.

Leo: Oh man, he already has a powerful monster out in just one turn!

(Y/N): And that's not all! I activate his ability! Once per turn I can destroy a monster my opponent controls at the cost of my monster not being able to attack this turn! Now go, Blue-Eyes Destruction!

My dragon then let out another roar as it charged up and fired a white beam at Morphtronic Datatron! The attack hit and then caused his monster to go to the graveyard.

Leo: No my monster!

(Y/N): I then place on card face down and end my turn.

I said as I placed one card face down on the field and then turned it over to my opponent.

<<Turn Three>>

Leo: I draw! Oh that's a good card!! B-but how will I be able to destroy this strong monster... man I don't know what to do?!?

He said as he looked at his card and began to strategize what to do next, but he was also panicking about what to do. Only for Yusei to cut in and be a voice of reason for him.

Yusei: Leo! Just calm down and believe in your cards! They'll guide your through this!

Leo: You're right... thanks Yusei! It's my move! Lady's and gentlemen seeing as I have no other choice I set a monster card down in face down defense position and end my turn!

<<Turn Four>>

(Y/N): Hmph... that's it... you won't be able to win if that's all you got! I draw!

I drew a card and saw that it was Lord of D looking at the rest of the cards in my hand a plan started to form as I then began to act it out.

(Y/N): From my hand I summon Lord of D!

I said which caused a man wearing dragon skull armor and a long purple cape to rise up right next to my dragon.

Leo: Big deal that monster isn't as strong as your other one!

(Y/N): While that maybe true, his effect makes up for it! You see when my Lord of D is on the field neither of us cans target dragon monster on the field with effects!

Leo: W-what b-but that mean?!

(Y/N): Yeah.. it means I can attack you without having to worry about your face down! Now go I activate your effect once more Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon! Destroy his face down with Blue-Eyes Destruction!

As I shouted this my monster then activated its effect once more and shot another white beam at Leo's face down monster destroying it in the process.

Leo: M-my monster...

(Y/N): That's not all! Go Lord of D attack him directly!

Lord of D then charged at Leo attacking him directly however before my monster was able to attack him he activated his trap card!

Leo: Ha!! You fell for my trap I activate the trap No Entry!! This changes all attack position monster into defense mode!

(Y/N): Tch big deal... you still haven't made any progress to defeating me! I end my turn.

<<Turn Five>>

Leo: I draw!

Leo said as he yet again drew a card and looked at it, he then activated a spell card from his hand.

Leo: I activate the spell card Junk Box! You see I can special summon a level four or lower Morphtronic monster from my graveyard! It gets destroyed at the end of the turn though.. so I bring back Morphtronic Datatron in defense position! And while my monster is in defense position I can activate its effect! You now take three-hundreds points of damage!

His Morphtronic then fired something out of it barrel and landed an attack on me dealing three-hundreds point of damage.

Leo: No, its not luck this is what happens when I believe in my cards! Oh yeah I'm amazing!! And so is my deck! I then place one monster in defense position, one face down and end my turn!

(Y/N): All that for what... I'm not playing around no more... from my hand I summon Protector with Eyes of Blue!

He said as my monster once again charged up its effect and then fired it at Leo's monster destroying it and sending it to the graveyard.

(Y/N): I then activate my Protector with Eyes of Blue card effect! By sending an effect monster I control to the graveyard I can special summon one Blue-Eyes monster from my hand! Which I choose Portector with Eyes of Blue himself and summon one of my favorite monster, Blue-Eyes White Dragon!!

Leo: Oh no! I can't lose! I haven't even had a chance to show you my combos?!

(Y/N): Oh but you will lose. Now go attack him directly my monsters!

My Lord of D then charged Leo and attacked him directly dealing a total damage of one-thousand two-hundreds attack pointed

Tears were threatening to slip from Leo's eyes as I walked past him and walked directly to Yusei and confronted him.

Yusei: That was an impressive duel, but I still won't duel you.

(Y/N): W-what?! Why not?

Yusei: Not only did you duel aggressively, you also dueled for the wrong reasons. You duel with rage fueled by hatred. You may believe in your cards, but what is it exactly that you were dueling for.

(Y/N):.... What does it matter.... just duel me already!

I said yelling at him only for him to turn his back to me. He then began to walk away, not before saying something.

Yusei: Be patient, you mentioned Goodwin, so I take it your a part of the Fortune Cup?

(Y/N): Yeah... I am.

Yusei: Then we'll duel there.

(Y/N): Sigh... I just can't win with you huh... I may have lost my temper. For that I ask that you forgive me. I'll tell you one thing though... don't trust Goodwin.

Yusei: Why do you say that?

(Y/N): He's definitely hiding something... so be careful, also would it kill you to visit home every once in a while, she worries about you, ya know?

Yusei: She... you don't mean?!

(Y/N): It doesn't matter anymore... well I'm outta here, I got what I came for.

Yusei: Wait!

As I was about to walk away, Yusei called out to me, wondering what he wanted I turned to face him only to receive a very serious look.

Yusei: That card... the Blue-Eyes White Dragon... where did you get it from?!

Before he could say anything else, I cut him off.

(Y/N): If you want answer Fudo Yusei... you'll get them at the Fortune Cup... when we duel.

I said turning around as I began to walk away, it not before Leo once again stopped me in my tracks, I looked him in the eyes as he did the same to me.

(Y/N): I guess I should apologize to you too, huh...?

Leo: No it's not that...

(Y/N): Then what is it? Why are you standing against me once again?

Leo: I lost this duel... but I'm going to get a lot stronger!

(Y/N): Hmph so?

Getting one look at his determined face, it was clear that this was no bluff. I just scoffed and began to walk past him.

I said shocking Leo, he then proceeded to jump and point at me as I continued to walk away further and further.

Leo: I will prove it just you watch, cranky pants!

Was the last thing I heard before I got to far from their group, I gave a sigh of relief.

(Y/N): Maiden... forgive me... I lost my temper and ignored you...

"Maiden with Eyes of Blue: It's alright, (Y/N) Dear I was just concerned is all."

(Y/N): Still... I let my anger get the best of me... what they said it reminded me of that... that...

"Maiden with Eyes of Blue: I know, we are one (Y/N) dear. I know what it is they reminded you of."

(Y/N): I refuse to let anyone talk down to me anymore... I hate that more then anything... well there is something I hate more then that... its when someone hurts my friends... still what an odd group that was...

"Maiden with Eyes of Blue: Mhmm... but I was happy..."

(Y/N): What do you mean?

"Maiden with Eyes of Blue: At the end when you spoke with that boy, you acknowledged him. Normally you would've just ignored his words, it just made me happy, did you see something in him?"

(Y/N): No nothing at all. He just reminded me of someone.

"Maiden with Eyes of Blue: Is that so... very well then, head home for the night, (Y/N) Dear. The tournament is about to begin."

(Y/N): You're right...

I said as I began to walk foreword lost in thought.

Yeah... that kid did remind me of someone... he reminded me of the weakling I was before this word made me into the person I am now. Maybe that's why I... what does it matter all I have to focus on is the Fortune Cup.
