Chapter Six
I decided which village to stay at next. Konoha, the village of second chances. Sounded like just the place for a girl like me. As I traveled, I practiced flying. I was slowly progressing. I began to imitate the sounds of the animals around me, finding that I was quite good at it. I wonder if I could do a human voice.
I opened my mouth, trying to get Gaara's voice. "We're friends, Kiko-chan." I captured his raspy voice perfectly. I shuddered. To perfectly. It brought back the pain in a rush.
Days passed as I practiced throwing my voice, target training, and flying. Throwing my voice and mimicking voices came easily. Probably because my voice was strong from singing.
On the fourth day, I arrived at Konoha. I tried to get in with the same old ball trick, but it didn't work. "Look, kid, we can't let you back into the village. You could be some rogue ninja disguised as a kid!" One with a bandage across his nose explained.
I pouted. "But I'm noooooooot," I whine, "I don't even know one jutsu. I'm not a ninja!"
"Then why do you have a weapons pouch on your leg?" One with hair over his eyes pointed out.
I internally frown, but keep the bright, fake smile on my face. "I was playing ninja with my friends. That's what I wanna be when I grow up!"
KAWAII! I heard, though neither of them opened their mouths. But it sounded just like them... I put a hand on my head, shaking it slightly. I am going so crazy. This is what happens when you're on your own to long. You start hearing voices in your head.
"Look, how about we ask you some questions about the village that only a villager would know. If you answer them right, we'll let you through."
"Great idea, Izumo!" The other complimented.
Thanks, Kotetsu!" Izumo said.
Izumo leaned closer, hands the desk. "Okay, first question. Who is our current Hokage?"
Suddenly, Kotetsu's voice rang in my head. Even though we had four Hokage's, Lord Third is the current Hokage.
I closed my eyes for a second. I really am going crazy. But what the heck, I had nothing to lose, so... "We've had four Hokage's but right now it's the Third who holds the position of Hokage."
"What's his name?" Kotetsu asked.
This time, it was Izumo who I heard. Hiruzen Sarutobi. But I answered, "I always thought his name was Lord Third Hokage...?" I trailed off, as though I was confused. They both laughed at me.
"Alright, name somebody from this village. I heard several answers from both Izumo and Kotetsu's voices in my head, but would I, a child, know them? Instead, I just went with the most common name in my head. "Eiko."
"Who's she?" They both asked. Dammit!
"She's, uh... Eiko."
Never heard of her before. That's Kotetsu's voice.
This girl is obviously lying about this "Eiko" character. Izumo's voice. Am I... reading their minds?
I sigh. "Okay, okay, you guys caught me." They were immediately on guard. "Not like that! I'm not a ninja, and I am five years old. But you're right, I don't belong in this village."
They shared a look. To think we were considering to let her into the village.
"I don't have a home, and I'm an orphan. I just wanted to start over here, get a new life. I usually don't stay in villages very long, but I wanted to stay in this one for at least a couple of years. And I do want to be a ninja."
"We can't let you in unless you are interrogated. It won't be bad," He added hurriedly, seeing my worried face, "And then you can speak to Lord Hokage about being a ninja, alright?" I slowly nodded. He spoke into some type of walkie-talkie, and a man in a cat mask appeared by me.
"Come with me." The cat mask man demanded, his voice deep. I looked over at Kotetsu and Izumo, who nodded their encouragement. I went with the Anbu, wings held tightly against my back in my anxiety. We arrived at a large round building in the middle of town, went inside and downstairs.
The Anbu gestured for me to enter a room. "Sit on that chair, somebody will be with you in a moment." I nodded, and sat down in the chair. About five minutes later, the door opened, and a man with many scars stepped into the room.
Third P.O.V
"Lord Hokage, a young girl, around the age of five attempted to enter the village today."
The Hokage turned around, looking at the Anbu. "Hmm... What happened?"
"The two chuunin that were guarding the gate almost let her in when she pretended to be a part of the village, but caught themselves. She confessed to not belonging to the village, and said that she was an orphan who traveled from village to village, but wanted to settle down here for a few years. She also expressed her wishes to become a ninja."
The Hokage nodded slowly. "And how to we know she is not a rogue in disguise?"
"Ibiki-san is interrogating her now."
"WHAT? How long has she been down there with him?"
The Anbu glanced at the clock. "Approximately fifteen minutes, Lord Hokage."
The Hokage sighed, rubbing his face with a hand. "End the interrogation and bring her to me."
"Hai."
The Hokage glanced out the window. Poor girl. If she was an enemy, she would have spilled her secrets ten times over by now.
Keira's P.O.V
The man close the door behind him and stood in front of me. "What's your name?" I huddled closer to the chair in fear. "I'm not going to play games with you, girl. I said, what is your name." I refused to answer such a scary man.
He suddenly changed tactics. "Listen, girl. You can't join the village or become a ninja if you don't answer my questions. Now, what's your name." HIs sudden niceness disarmed me, but the bargain caught my eye.
"If I answer your questions... truthfully," I begin in a small, wavering voice, "I can be a ninja, and stay in this village?"
"Yes, if I don't believe you're a threat." Though I doubt she is. I already know this isn't a transformation. All her chakra should've been blocked as soon as she was in this room. "Now, can you tell me your name?"
I nodded. "My name is Keira."
He scribbled it down. "What about your last name?" He questioned.
"Boukyaku." I answered.
"Forgotten Darkness, eh?" I smiled slightly and nodded. "Well, we can't find anyone who goes by that name in any of our records."
"Oh, well, I came up with the name myself." I giggled. He raised an eyebrow. "I'm an orphan, so I gave myself a name. I chose Boukyaku because I'm always forgotten, and Keira just because I liked it." And because everyone treated me like I'm, evil, dark.
"So, where have you been before?" he asked.
I smiled angelically. "All over." I answered. He grabbed my arm with enough force to make the bone snap. I cried out in pain. He backed off, letting go of my arm in confusion. I didn't grab her arm with enough force to make it snap!
I controlled my cries, and a single tear making it's way down my face. "My bones are lighter then most peoples, hollow." I explained. Can she read minds? "I don't know!" I wailed. Suddenly, the door slams open.
"The Hokage requests the girls presence." The Anbu states. Ibiki nods and steps back, handing the ANbu the clipbored he'd been writing on. The Anbu scooped me up and puffed away in smoke. When the smoke cleared, I found myself in a round room, and old man in a hat sitting at the desk.
"Thank you. You are dismissed." The man said in a gravelly voice. The Anbu disappeared, leaving me with the old man. "Hello..." He glanced at the clip board. "Keira Boukyaku. I'm the Third Hokage. I understand that you are not viewed as a threat to the village, and wish to become a ninja. You have no parents either, correct?"
I nodded, holding my arm in pain. If it wasn't set soon, it would begin to heal incorrectly. "Uh, Hokage-sama, do you have anyone who could set my arm?" I asked hesitantly.
"That Ibiki..." he growled. He nodded and called for somebody. An nice lady set my arm and helped it heal with green light.
"In about two hours it should be all better, okay?" She smiled as I nodded, and left.
"Thank you, Hokage-sama." He nodded.
"It's strange that you have such delicate bones... maybe it's just from not eating properly..." He pondered, then snapped back to reality. "There is an empty apartment here," he said, handing me a map, with an X on it. He also handed me some keys and money. "It's apartment A9. I'll have you enrolled in the ninja academy. Here's some money to get you started. Konoha protects its orphans, so you will get some money every month. Agreed?"
I nodded, understanding.
"Also, we will have and anbu check up on you weekly. This will loast for the duration of six months. We want to make sure you are... settled in nicely." I nodded again, internally frowning. A threat within a gesture of kindnes.
"You can leave now, thank you for your time, Keira-chan." I go to leave, but he stops me. "Oh, and one more thing, Keira-chan..." I wait patiently as he smiles slightly.
"Welcome to Konoha."

She finally made it to Konoha. They know her real name because she is planning on staying, but they don't know about her wings. She developed a new ability! She can read minds! And she can copy voices, which I'm sure will help with some pranks in the future! Had fun Writing this.
One comment, please???? It's not that hard, and trust me, it does help. It makes writers feel good inside to know somebody is reading and cares enough to comment! :P
