Saturdays [49]

Yawn! I stretched my arms as soon as I sat up from my bed. I was still drowsy so I decided to go to my bathroom and wash up my face and then brushed my hair. I walked downstairs and saw Akashi already awake, sitting on the couch while drinking coffee.

"Oh-Ohayo Akashi," I greeted him stopping by the living room. He looked away from the magazine he was reading and looked at me.

"Oh, Ohayo," he replied his eyes staring at me. I took the seat next to him and peekd on what's he's reading. It's he Saturday morning newspaper. Wait, Saturday? Today's Saturday! A smile grew on my face as I jumped from the couch and fist pump both of my fist.

"What are you doing now?" Akashi questioned me. I turn to him with a smile. "It's a Saturday!" I cheered. He raised an eyebrow asking for an answer. I smiled at him. "Saturdays are fun! Me and Nii-san always have a brother-sister date during Saturdays! It's really fun! It's like a family tradition, but without parents though..." I trailed off, scratching the back of my head.

Akashi's eyes widened then softened at the same time. He looked like he was sad, his eyes tell so; but he closed them and let out a deep sigh. "Well, sorry to say this but your brother can't make today," he informed me.

"W-What?" I wondered. "W-Why not?" I started to feel sad hearing this.

"He said that he still had to arrange paper works for his trip in the US, so he left early today and he said he'll be late in coming home," Akashi explained, as I sat back on the couch. This sucks... "Are you okay?"

I looked at Akashiand nodded my head. I forced a smile. "Yeah, I'll just go and make breakfast for us," I told him. Well this is the first time I made breakfast on a Saturday.

Normally, me and my brother ate breakfast at our favorite pastry shop and buy tons of our favorite breads and pastries. And then we'll go around the mall and play at the arcade and sing karaoke. We take our lunch at our favorite sushi restaurant and after that we just go to the park and spent the whole afternoon there talking and laughing about stuff.

But I guess we won't be doing that now.

He'll be in college. He'll fly to America and continue playing there with the scholarship he got. And be a professional basketball player like he always dreamed of. Me? I don't know yet. I guess I still haven't planned my future yet.

I absentmindedly grabbed the ingredients I needed and was startled to hear Akashi speak behind me. "Nevermind cooking breakfast," he said. I flinched.

"What???" I looked at him confusingly. He sighed. "You don't really cook breakfast during Saturdays," he said, I tilted my head. How did he know? "You always call me every Sunday morning and tell me the things you and your brother do during Saturdays, it's the same routine."

"Oh..." I nodded my head.

"Go upstairs and take a shower," he instructed. I glanced at him. "What?" he sighed in annoyance. What did I do now?? "Just go, we'll be going to that pastry shop you love," after he said that, a smile grew on my face again and attack Akashi a hug.

We almost stumbled on the ground but I pulled away and gave a sheepish smile putting my hand behind my head. "G-Gomen, Akashi," I apologized.

"Whatever, just go and get ready," he ordered me and left me in the kitchen. I watch him disappear and smiled to myself and shrieked silently.

TIMESKIP.

I fixed the final touches on my hair and took a last look at my outfit. It was a cute black blouse with a bow tie just after the chest area. It was long; covering a bit of my white pair of shorts and I was also wearing black stockings.

I went downstairs to meet Akashi wearing a casual blue polo and some brown denim. He looked annoyed at first and glanced at me. Blinking his eyes twice, he turned his back at me quickly hiding his face. Oh come on, I want to see his expression!!

"Oi, Akashi!" I approached him and caught his arm. He looked at me like an innocent looking kid, with his mouth open a bit. "What?" I titlted my head at him.

"Nothing" he said. "I'm just not use in being called 'Akashi' by you."

"Oh," I realized. "Well I just stopped calling you 'Aka-kun' because we're not even close--well for me because I haven't remember... you know," I trailed off, bowing my head down.

"Whatever, it's in the past now, it doesn't matter," he said. I shot my head at him and was about to protest but he beat me in speaking--"Don't ruin your Saturday because of a stupid memory like that. It's in past now, what matters is the present time," he said and entangled his fingers with mine. "And the future time you're going to have for this Saturday," Akashi smiled at me. I felt my cheeks blush, feeling my whole face heat up. W-Why the heck am I blushing?!

I smiled back and started to tease him while making our way to the pastry shop. "Eh, you know anything about fun? Have you ever played games rather than Shogi and Basketball?" I interviewed him. He thought for a while.

"Well I do play chess too," he answered.

"It's still a board game!"

He sighed. "Well, my whole life I didn't know what "fun" is," I stared at him like he was retarded. I stopped and went in front of him. "Really Akashi? Is that why you're always cranky? And you're always on your period? And you always wear this blank expression? Are you living a sad life right now? Or maybe you're just heartbroken?! Why didn't you tell me before?! I could've introduce you to one of my girl friends!!!"

After that attack of question and blocked my mouth with his hand and as soon as I silenced he pulled it back. "The next time you burst out like that I'm not going to hesitate in putting layers of duct tape on your mouth," he warned and walk pass me. I watched him leave and got dragged with him pulling my wrist again.

We arrived at the pastry shop as I ordered my usual muffin that I always order and asked Akashi what he wanted. He said he'd have anything so I ordered the same thing for him. I place our pastry on the table as he raised an eyebrow at me. "You really like chocolate do you?"

I smiled at him and nodded taking a bite of my chocolate muffin. He sighed and took a napking and wiped my face. "Can't you eat without staining your mouth?" he said. "Stop staining your mouth, you eat like a child."

"Gomen," I replied as he sighed. I looked at him. He still hasn't touched his food yet and I'm half way in finishing mine. "Aren't you going to eat?" I asked him.

"I don't have my appetite yet."

"But you haven't had breakfast yet."

"I had coffee this morning."

"That isn't what you call breakfast."

He sighed in annoyance furrowing his eyebrows as he grab the fork and ate some of the muffin I bought for him then swallowed it. "Happy?" he asked boredly, placing his cheek on his hand. I frowned and looked down on my finished food. I pouted.

"Seriously, you're still hungry?" he uttered disturbing me. Do I really eat too much? Or is Taicchi's big appetite is contagious? Oh god, I'm going to get fat!!! "Here, you can have mine," he offered moving the plate in front of me.

"No, it's okay, I'm fine," I reassured.

"Really? Is the dragon in your stomach satisfied with one muffin?"

"I TOLD YOU I'M FINE!!!" I yelled at him.

"Whatever," he sneered and finished his muffin.

TIMESKIP. AT THE MALL.

Me and Akashi were currently walking around the mall, window shopping and looking around. It was the same mall where me and Kuro-chan hung out too. I was still confused why he asked me to hang-out. And even Ki-chan! What's up with those GoM people???

We pass by the arcade as I squealed childishly and dragged Akashi with me. We played some games--and of course I forced him to play with me. He would always let out an annoyed sigh before doing so. He's always annoyed!

After playing various games, we rested at a bench nearby, our legs exhausted in all the playing. I took notice of a karaoke room and beamed at it and saw Akashi frown. "Anything but in there," he demanded. I pouted at him. "Why not?"

"I don't sing."

"I can teach you how!"

"No."

"Why???"

"Aya, as far as I remember, you only know one song."

"Still!!!" I was stubborn as ever. And I have a one good song in mind! He stood up from the bench and left me there sitting. "Oi! Wait up!" I ran after him and walked with him side-by-side. "Ne, Akashi, I'm hungry," I told him after hearing my stomach grumbled.

"Of course you are," what does that mean?! We entered that sushi shop I mentioned earlier and saw a group of highschoolers who looks like they were looking at us. Who're they? A wide eyed guy came waving at us and soon enough he approached us and greeted Akashi. "Oi Sei-chan! What are you doing here?"

He looked weird if you ask me. And he seems like he's older than us, rather than his height. "Oh, Hayama-san, hi there," Ha, I was right! He is a senpai! This so called Hayama now turned to me as a playful smile grew on his face. "Ah I see, you're here on a date."

WHAT?! NO! I was about to protest when Hayama spoke again. "Well then, whose the lucky maiden?" He scanned my face. I stepped away from him as his face went closer. "Eh! You're girlfriend's so pretty Sei-chan! You're so lucky!" Ehh???

After he said that, Akashi suddenly glared at him and pulled me by the waist protectively. "Leave her alone," he hissed, with a cold glare.

Hayama backed away and raised his hands in defense.  "All yours!" What??? I pulled away from Akashi and looked at Hayama. "Oi! First of all, we're not on a date and second I'm not his girlfriend!!" I defended, raising my voice at him.

"Aya, don't raise your voice at your senpai," Akashi reminded me from behind.

"Ehh??"

"Oh, I see!" Hayama snapped still smiling. "You're that Aya girl that Reo-nee's mentioned! You're Sei-chan's girlfriend during middle school! So, are you two still dating?" Did or did he not hear me from before? I already flipping told him that--"I am not his girlfriend!"

He flinched and backed away. "Kotaro", a large guy stood behind him. "Leave Akashi and her alone," he said as Hayama sighed and smiled at us. "See you then!" he waved and disappeared off with the other guys.

I sweat dropped. He really is weird.

TIMESKIP.

The day so far was okay. After eating lunch we went to the usual park where a basketball court was now built beside him. Me and Akashi sat on the swings as I stared blankly at the sky. I like the sky. Both of me and Nii-san do. It' beautiful. Sometimes I wished I could smile. I gagged. Our surname does suit us! Tsubasa--meaning "wings". I giggled.

"Are you crazy or something?" Akashi commented glancing at me.

"No! I just remembered something" I smiled to myself looking back at the sky again. I can feel Akashi stare at me, while I just stared at the birds flying at the scarlet atmosphere. It looks really beautiful. Oh, and the sun's setting so fast. Another day passes by, decreasing the time my brother has here in Japan.

"Aya," I heard Akashi call me.

I glanced at him. "Yeah?"

"Play basketball with me?" I blinked a few times and smiled. "Okay."
