For her [37]
It's been a few days or weeks since Aya's been in commatose. Seirin's game against Yosen high was victorious. They won for her; but still she was asleep. Their victory didn't satisfy them at all. The team visited every day. Even the GoM visited her; except for Akashi who they've not yet contact since the incident.
Yamato quit taking interviews from college schools and just picked the school of his first choice. He's been taking a sports course but didn't join the basketball team.
The Seirin team is currently training for their next match against Kirisaki Daichi. They couldn't focuse at all. Riko tried to talk to them several times but failed to let them focuse on their game.
"Yamato-senpai!" Taiga caught up with Yamato on his way up to the Aya's room. The elevator was about to close and Yamato was in it when Taiga stopped it. "C-Can I walk with you?" Yamato blinked at him and nodded.
"So how's Aya doing?" Taiga asked, looking concerned at the eagle players.
Yamato sighed and looked straight where he was going. "She's still asleep. The doctor said it might take a few months for her to wake up. Or worse, it might take years," he stopped as Taiga stared at him. His serious face turned into a small smile. "But I'm still hoping she'll wake up soon enough. I know Aya. She doesn't want she loves worry about her. I'm sure she'll wake up at the right time."
They continued walking and arrived at Aya's room. Her sleeping body lied on the hospital bed with numerous tubes stuck to her body. The rising of her chest was a sign of hope that she'll wake up soon.
Yamato put the shopping bags he brought on the table beside the bed and took out an apple and tossed it to Taiga as he caught it. "You still taking care of yourself?" Yamato inquired as Taiga nodded and took a bite. "Good. Don't let the situation affect you alright? For her," Taiga nodded again.
Yamato sighed and looked up the sky. "How's Tetsuya doing?" he checked on Tetsuya.
"Well he's just fine--" Taiga was cut off when someone entered the room. It was Tetsuya who closed the door quietly and greeted the two bluntly and took a seat beside Aya's bed and sat there quietly while reading a book.
"Yo, Tetsuya," Yamato called him as Tetsuya looked at his senpai. "How are you? Are you doing just fine?" Tetsuya nodded his head turning his head back to his book, show it his full attention in reading. Yamato sighed. 'I wonder if the other 5 are also like this' he thought of the GoM.
Meanwhile in Touou....
"AOMINE-KUN!" Momoi yelled at Daiki who was lying at the top of the rooftop again. As usual, he skipped classes and just hang-out there, staring at the sky all day. "GET DOWN FROM THERE!!!" Momoi shouted stomping her feet with a nerve pop.
Daiki sat up and scratched his head, then frowned at Momoi. "You're so noisy," he commented as Momoi felt another nerve pop.
"Shut up Aomine-kun! Stop skipping classes and practices!" she demanded with her eyes closed.
"No you shut up. Shut up and let me be," he glared at her with his eyes changing. Momoi narrowed her eyes staring at Daiki. He changed again. He wasn't the old Daiki. He returned to the cold and arrogant Daiki that they hated.
She felt like crying at that time and just left Daiki at the rooftop. "I HATE YOU AHOMINE!" she yelled at him before slamming the door at him then went down the school stairs.
After class she went home alone. Usually, she'd walk home with Daiki and talk about basketball and how she misses Tetsuya as their teammate. He'd just tell her to shut up but she wouldn't and he'll just groan in annoyance.
She was currently walking towards her route when she happen to pass by Shintaro walking alone too. "Midorin," she said.
"Konnichiwa," she greeted him.
They decided to walk together towards their home in silence before Shintaro spoke up. "It's feels weird..." he pushed his glasses up. Momoi looked at him with a questioning look. "What is?" she wondered. Shintaro looked at her and answered. "You're usually noisy like Aya. I wonder what kept you silent today," Momoi had a nerve pop.
"Shut up! I just had a bad day, okay?" she trailed off looking sad.
"Did Daiki shout at you again?" he assumingly questioned. Momoi pouted and nodded. "I see. Just let him be. You know why he's like that". Momoi understood his statement and nodded sadly.
"I know why. But it's just..." she paused. "He shouldn't acting that way..." tears started to pour down her eyes. "He knows that attitude of his makes Aya-chan sad. The least he could do is just bring the old Aomine and just be on the positive side. I just--" Shintaro handed her a tissue.
"You're one to talk. Look at you crying because of Ahomine being stupid as always. You shouldn't be crying because of that. You should do something about it and be on the positive side like you said. Do something about him. Do it for her," Shintaro lectured leaving the pink haired girl in awe.
She blinked at him and accepted the tissue as she sniffed. "You're right Midorin," she said with a smile. She looked up at him and beamed. "Thank you.I shouldn't act like this, I should be helping in the situation, for her. " she wiped her tears away and looked at the tissue she just received. "Um, Midorin?"
"Yeah?" he replied.
"W-Where did you get this tissue?" she questioned. Shintaro sighed and showed her a box of tissues. "It's my lucky item for the day," with that, Momoi sweat drop. She suddenly thought of a red haired guy that seems to most affected. 'I wonder how's he doing' she thought.
...
Daiki was in a public basketball court holding a basketball while staring at it. Maybe someday you'll find someone who can beat you. Nothing's impossible! He tightened the grip on the ball and threw it towards the ring as it got in.
"Well that's what you call an effortless shot," someone commented as Daiki turned his head to see Ryota leaning on the wall, looking at him. "What do you want?" he sneered and picked up the ball which just rolled back to his feet.
"A one-on-one" he was startled at Ryota's answer as he smirked. "Really? You really want to do that with me?" he threw the ball at Ryota with an evil smirk. "You're on."
And of course Ryota lost as always as he sat on the ground while staring at the ball. "You've changed," Ryota's commented. "Again," he added looking at Daiki with the ace's back faced to him.
"I didn't," he started to walk away. "I just lost sight at the moment," he said and walked away. Ryota stared at him as he disappeared. "I don't get him..." he scratched the back of his head.
...
"Oh Aka-kun you finally pick--" Akashi hung up from Teppei's call again. He got Akashi's number from Shintaro and since then, he's been trying to contact him. Akashi's phone rang again as he sighed and finally picked up the call. "Aka-kun--"
"Why the hell are you calling me that?" he cut him off as Teppei stroked his cheek with his index finger. He finally thought of an excuse and was about to answer when Akashi spoke up again. "Stop calling me" he hung up.
Teppei stared at his phone. "He really doesn't want talk to anyone" he uttered with a big sigh.
"Why are you calling him anyway Kiyoshi? Aren't you scared at his reaction when he gets annoyed at your calls?" Izuki asked, feeling nervous about the fact that Teppei's been calling Akashi continuously.
"Why can't he just visit her for once? He shouldn't act like that. He should just be there for her."
