After a few hours of training, the coach finally called a time-out and let the Seirin players rest. Most of them just lied on the floor; not having energy to walk over the bench. They were sweaty and tired. Aya saw this and volunteered to buy them drinks. Riko insisted that one of the basketball players should go with her because she didn't want Aya to go alone but Aya declined saying that none of the players have the energy to go with her and just left before Riko could protest. Aya left the gym and sprinted towards the nearest convenience store to buy drinks.
As the players were resting in peace; Riko took the chance to ask the question that's been stuck in her head. "Tetsuya, did you and Aya knew each other before?" she asked him seriously. Tetsuya gave them the blank look and nodded. "R-Really Kuroko? I didn't know that" one of the freshmen was surprised to know that information. "Sumimase mina, but, I haven't really told you everything about her..." Tetsuya looked sad and looked down on his hands. "You see, we used to be classmates in Teiko and she used to coach the Generation of Miracles..." .

"WHAT?!" they yelled in shock. Their jaws dropped staring at the phantom. "B-But, how? She was the coach during middle school?" Junpei asked in disbelief. "No, she wasn't our coach, she was just assisting the coach during practice, but she was behind the Generation of Miracles' special abilities" Tetsuya answered.
"Daicchi you have to be faster to run pass your opponent! You're too slow!" Aya yelled at Daiki who was dribbling the ball and was guarded by Atsushi.
"I know that! Stop distracting me!" Daiki yelled back that causes Tetsuya to slap the ball away from his hand and passed it to Shintaro. "Curses! See what you did?!" he shouted at Aya.
"I was trying to help you!" she argued back and looked at Ryota. "Ki-chan! Pick up the pace! Steal the ball from them! Don’t let them near the hoop!" she shouted as Ryota ran after Shintaro who just shot the ball and successfully got in. "Very good aim Midori-kun!" Aya smiled as the practice continue. She continued coaching them; telling them the skills and styles of basketball.
"You're sister is really scary, Yamato-senpai" Daiki commented putting his hands on his waist while staring at her with a slightly scared look. Yamato chuckled and nodded. "You two are really the same, you just smile at things always" he commented.
"I don't know it's in our gene" he shrugged. As the practice finished, the players walked towards the bench and rested there.
"Here you go mina!" Aya cheered and handed all of the player’s water bottles and fresh towels as they rested. She let them sit on the bench and pick-up all the balls since their practice was over.
"Aya, you don't need to clean up, Daiki and Tetsuya are on cleaning duty today" Seijuro told her but she shook her head.
"It's okay Aka-kun, I can manage, besides Daicchi, and Kuro-chan is exhausted from practice, they could use a rest" she smiled at him and continued cleaning up. Seijuro watched her and later joined her in cleaning up. "Aka-kun?" Aya looked at him.
"You can't get tired or else your asthma will attack" he reminded her and gets the mops from the other room. The Generation of Miracles was left in the gym as they stared at the open gym door.
"Seriously, when it comes to you Aya he's really caring" Daiki commented laying back with his arms. "Are you two dating or something?" he asked making Aya blush.
"D-Daicchi! Why would you say something like that? W-We're not dating" she trailed off looking at her fingers as she played them making her drop the balls she was carrying. She was picking it up in embarrassment as Seijuro returned with the mops and saw her. He helped her pick them up and reminded her about something. "Well at least don't drop the balls again, idiot" he told her. "So mean Aka-kun" she cried.
They continued cleaning and soon all of them joined in cleaning. Daiki, Satsuki and Ryota picked up the basketballs. Shintaro and Tetsuya volunteered in the cleaning with Aya and Seijuro while Atsushi just watch them from the bench wiping the balls and putting them in their containers.
After they finished mopping and put away the mops. Aya inhaled some dust and sneezed three times. "I told you, you cleaning were a bad idea, and you should listen to me more often Aya" he told her. She shook her head smiling.
"Nuh uh, Aka-kun, I beat you in Shogi remember? That means I don't have to follow your orders!" she chirped surprising all of the Generation of Miracles.
"W-What?! You beat Akashi in Shogi?!" Daiki exclaimed in disbelief staring at her with his jaw dropped. Aya looked at him and nodded. She didn't get why they were all surprised. "What! Nobody beats him in Shogi! IT'S SHOGI!"
"Honestly, Daicchi, you look really funny with that surprised look, and the other too" she giggled holding her laughter. The boys all blushed seeing her giggle while Akashi just left them and proceeded to the locker room.
"So you all guys were just really close" Riko said staring at Tetsuya who had a sad look already. He remembered the good times he and Aya had during their middle school days. "You don't need to tell us all..." she noticed the look on Tetsuya's face.”We just want to know... what happened with Aya's memories..." she trailed off.
"I understand coach, I'll tell you..." Tetsuya said. "Before the school ended during our 3rd year in Teiko; Aya-san and Akashi-kun had a fight during one of games, Yamato-senpai already graduated at that time so Akashi-kun was now the captain... it affected her really badly"
"Why, is there something between Aya and Seijuro?" Riko asked curiously. Tetsuya nodded his head and answered: "I actually think they like each other" the seirin players' jaws dropped again surprised.
"R-Really? Seijuro Akashi... and Aya?" they can't believe it. Tetsuya just nodded his head again and continued telling the story.
"Aka-kun!!" Aya screamed looking at Seijuro who just collapsed on the floor in exhaustion. He was panting deeply and his legs were shaking from tiredness. Aya ran towards him and help her get up. The opponent chuckled seeing Seijuro's condition that made him glare. "I'm fine" he pulled away from Aya and walked on his own. The referee blew his whistle and announced a time-out.
"Coach, we have to substitute Aka-kun out of the game!" she told her coach who was in deep thinking. "His body can't take it anymore, we have to--" "No" Seijuro interrupted their conversation. "I'll play, and teach them where there place is..." his eyes changed. It wasn't the eyes she saw before. They were cold and enraged.
"Aka-kun..." she stared at him a bit scared. She looked down and right back at him. "No! You can't play! Your body can't take in anymore!--" "I don't care what you have to say, you have no right to tell me what to do, know your place..." his eyes grew wide.
"Aka-kun" she stepped towards him and hugged him. "Please..." Aya started to cry on Seijuro's chest as the other players watched them. "Don't do it..." She felt arms grab her arm and pull away from her. He looked at her with his eyes widened. "I am absolute; I take no orders from other people, especially people like you..." She knew the moment he looked at her that it wasn't the Seijuro she knew.
He let go of her as the match continued. Aya was frozen at her spot and stared at Seijuro who walked away from her.
The match ended with 89-74 with the Teiko's victory. They we' went back to the locker room and changed as Seijuro collapsed on the floor with his legs shaking. They were overused so now they can't feel them. Aya soon entered the room not minding if Daiki was shirtless or any other player. She saw Seijuro on the floor and dropped the water bottles she was carrying and sat beside Seijuro and helps him sit on the bench.
"Aka-kun, what's wrong?!" she was worried and sat beside him.
"It's nothing, I was just tired..." he reasoned but Aya didn't like it. She knew the real reason why he collapsed and his legs were shaking.
"Yeah you were tired all right, in fact your body was overused because you kept playing through the 4th quarter!" she nagged.
"If I didn't play then they should've lost" he replied back. "Don't think that without you that Teiko is weak! They could've beaten them without you!" Aya argued back. "So you think I'm useless in the team?! AYA. I'm the team captain, I have to lead them in the game; don't act like you’re a basketball player that has duties to do! You can't even play basketball for the whole game AND you can't even compete in a team!" Aya's hand met Seijuro's cheek. She slapped him. They saw tears escape her eyes as she tried to held them back but was failing.
"I hate you Akashi!" she screamed at him and ran out of the locker room. "Ayacchi!" Ryota called back but she was a fast runner so they lost her. "Aka-kun, I'm sorry to say this but..." Satsuki said catching their attention. "You're a really jerk right now!" after that she ran after Aya.
Seijuro sat on the floor and thought about what he said. "Idiot..." he muttered to himself.
At the hospital.
Seijuro just finished one of his therapies on his leg after their last match. Tetsuya volunteered to go with him since he was the only one who wasn't taking sides on Seijuro and Aya's fight. It's been weeks since they talked to each other. Aya didn't go to their practice these days. In fact, she didn't go to school for a week. They were starting to get worried.
The two saw Yamato wall through the hallway with fruit baskets and magazines with him. They approached him and asked him what he is doing in the hospital. He silenced and just told them to follow him.
They entered a hospital room and saw an unconscious girl lying on the bed and realized it was Aya. "Aya!" Seijuro exclaimed and went beside her. He had his eyes widened trying to prevent from crying. "What happened to her?!"
"She's been hit" Yamato muttered. "Aya... she had an accident... she got hit by a car and now..." he sobbed. “She's in coma..." he cried as tears pour down from his eyes. Tetsuya's eyes widened and looked at Aya then at Seijuro. The emperor was still speechless and just watched Aya's chest rise and fall down as she sleeps.
"When?" he questioned. Yamato looked at him and answered. "After your match, I saw her running away from the stadium and there was a car who was swerving and she got hit...." he finished. “She's been in coma since then"
Seijuro didn't say anything. Tetsuya got worried and approached him and looked at his face. He was crying. He was actually crying because of Aya. He held her hand and lied beside her bed.
"We should get some lunch Tetsuya; let's leave them two alone..." Yamato called Tetsuya as they left the room leaving Seijuro beside Aya.

A few months have passed and Aya still hasn't woken up. The team visited her every day, especially Seijuro. He would just sit beside her bed while playing Shogi by himself. Aya used to play with him always. But now, he's alone in playing Shogi again.
After a few hours of staying with her, Seijuro has fallen asleep with his hand trapping Aya's. Yamato arrived from his class and saw Seijuro had fallen asleep on her bed. He smiled to himself and decided to buy food for them before he wakes up. As he left the room, Aya's hand was twitching, her nose was moving and her eyes finally fluttered open. She scanned the room and noticed Seijuro beside her. She tried to move but her body failed her. The only thing she can feel is her hands and fingers. Her hand made its way to Seijuro's face caressing his cheek. "Who is he?" she thought to herself waking the red haired guy up.
"A-Aya!" he stood up surprised and couldn't talk. "W-Who are you?" she asked him planting a hurt expression on his face. The door suddenly opened revealing Yamato who saw her sister awake. He dropped the shopping bags and made over to his sister; giving her a hug. "Nii-san" she hugs him back. She looked for Seijuro but he already left the room without saying any word.
-------------------------------------------
"What do you mean we can't see her anymore?!" Ryota exclaimed after Yamato told them that Aya would transfer and the Generation of Miracles can't see her anymore.
"I'm sorry Ryota, but Aya's had enough, I don't want her seeing getting hurt again" he explained glancing at Seijuro. "The doctor said that her amnesia was caused by emotional pain and she can't remember that fast or her memories might be messed up" The emperor just nodded his head. "I understand senpai, I won't protest with your decision" he walked away without saying a word. The rest of them stared at him with worried expression. They knew about Aya and Seijuro; they just don't want to mention it since they were scared at the captain.
"Sumimasen mina, I hope you all understand" Yamato bowed as Tetsuya nodded in understandment. He saw Aya peeking at the gym door and that's when she saw Tetsuya's face with her big purple eyes meeting his icy blue ones.
The Seirin players were all quiet; they couldn't speak about Aya's past. Riko looked down feeling sad for her, and Tetsuya was breaking inside. Taiga couldn't take the silence and spoke up. "Hey, hey, don't put on those faces" he said. "It's all in the past now, and the good news is she's remembering bit by bit, the important thing is that she's happy and enjoying basketball, and don't worry about her and Akashi, she'll soon forgive him in any other way"
They heard a plastic bag dropped and footsteps sprinting away from the gym. They looked outside the door to see a plastic bag full of water bottles. Riko's eyes widened. "AYA!"
