Experimentation

"Robbie...have you forgotten me?"

Robbie slowly opened his eyes to find himself strapped on a metal table with leather restraints keeping his arms and legs trapped against the cool metal surface.

The man in the lab coat Robbie had seen in his dreams emerged from the shadows with an empty syringe in his blue gloved hands, his expression unreadable due to the blue paper mask covering his mouth.

"Robbie remember, Sheep friend like Jack and Chase!" Robbie exclaimed happily, Schneep nodding absent mindlessly as he examined the syringe in his hands.

"I vant you to know zhat I am doing zhis to help Chase. You understand zhat, right?" Schneep questioned gently, Robbie frowning in confusion as Schneep brought the syringe closer towards the zombie.

"I'm not zhe bad guy, I promise." Schneep soothed Robbie as he stuck the needle in Robbie's neck, drawing blood while Robbie cried out in pain.

"Why Robbie restrained?" Robbie whimpered as Schneep analyzed the blood in the syringe, his eyes shining with guilt.

"I'm just...being careful." Schneep answered slowly as he put the blood sample under a microscope, Robbie's stomach contracting painfully with hunger.

Robbie need food.

"Once I analyze zhis, ve can find a cure and do more tests." Schneep muttered to himself under his breath, Robbie cracking his neck as his primal instinct took over.

Robbie....need...food!

Robbie broke his arms free from the restraints before releasing his legs, his eyes wild as he scrambled off of the table and sprinted towards Schneep.

"Robbie!" Schneep cried as he pushed an office chair in Robbie's path to slow him down, the zombie shoving the chair away from him hard enough to send it flying across the room.

Marvin burst into the room as the chair crashed into the wall and pulled Schneep out of the room with him, the magician using his magic to lock the door behind them to keep Robbie in temporarily.

"ROBBIE HUNGRY!" Robbie snarled as he threw himself at the metal door with a bang, his teeth bared as he clawed at the door.

"I'll keep the door locked as long as I can, go find a tranquilizer." Marvin instructed Schneep through gritted teeth, the German nodding as he ran off down the hall.

"ROBBIE WANT OUT!" Robbie roared as he slammed his shoulder against the door once more, Marvin wincing as the sickening sound of breaking bones echoed in the otherwise silent hall.

"Hurry up Doc." Marvin pleaded under his breath, his hands shaking with the effort it took to keep Robbie trapped.

"How are ve going to do zhis?" Schneep panted as he ran back to Marvin, a syringe filled with a clear tranquilizer in hand.

"I'll distract Robbie, you knock him out." Marvin replied grimly as he finally allowed Robbie to break the door down, the zombie charging towards Marvin.

Robbie's pupils were dilated and his breathing was heavy, his right shoulder bent at an odd angle from slamming against the metal door.

Marvin felt light headed from the amount of energy it took to keep Robbie locked up as the zombie grabbed Marvin's throat and slammed his head hard against the wall, dazing the magician while Robbie opened his mouth wide to sink his teeth into Marvin's head.

"Robbie...please." Marvin whispered weakly, the zombie hesitating as a glimmer of recognition sparked in his sunken pale blue eyes.

Robbie abruptly slumped to the ground as Schneep injected the tranquilizer into Robbie's neck, Marvin letting out a shaky breath of relief as he slid to the floor to catch his breath.

"Are you okay?" Schneep questioned worriedly, Marvin wordlessly nodding in response as he rubbed the back of his aching head where a bump was beginning to form.

"Go get some rest, I'll take care of Robbie." Schneep directed Marvin gently, the magician glancing down at Robbie's body before he stood up with Schneep's help and trudged off to his room.

"Verdammt nochmal." Schneep sighed wearily as he picked Robbie's body up bridal style, the German bringing the unconscious zombie to a padded room with only a bed inside.

"Zhis is for your safety and ours." Schneep promised Robbie quietly as he laid him down on the bed, locking the door behind him as he strode towards Chase's room to check up on him.

"Chase, how are you feeling?" Schneep prompted as he sat on the edge of Chase's bed, the male opening his eyes to look at the German.

"I..." Chase trailed off as he sat up, the male swallowing hard as Schneep adjusted the pillows behind Chase so they would help prop him up, the German then removing the oxygen mask so he could understand the male better.

"Any pain?" Schneep persisted, Chase biting his lip as he nodded.

"Yeah, I always feel hungry, but can't eat and can't sleep. Sometimes I forget things like your name or where I am, and there's always this feeling in my stomach like I'm getting stabbed repeatedly." Chase listed off grimly.

Schneep frowned thoughtfully as he wrote the symptoms down on a piece of paper, the German glancing over it before sticking it in his pocket.

"Anything else?" Schneep spoke up after a moment.

"Yeah, I uh...when I manage to sleep, I have nightmares about Robbie hurting me and everyone else." Chase admitted as he ran a hand through his hair.

"Don't vorry about him, he's safe now and everyone else is too." Schneep soothed Chase, patting him on the shoulder with a sad smile.

Chase abruptly sucked in a pained gasp as he wrapped his arms around his abdomen, his face deathly pale as his breathing sped up along with his heart rate.

"Stay vith me buddy!" Schneep cried as he paced around the room to look for something, anything, that could help.

"D-Doc." Chase stammered as he curled up in a tight ball, his eyes screwed shut as his body shook.

"C'mon c'mon c'mon," Schneep chanted frantically as he swung cabinet doors open and tossed bottles of pills out, sweat beading his forehead as he pulled open drawers.

"Gotcha."

Schneep froze with a bottle of Tylenol in his hand and turned to glare at Chase, his sapphire blue eyes glittering with unshed tears as he strode across the room and threw the bottle hard in Chase's face.

"Ow!" Chase exclaimed as the bottle bounced off of his cheek before hitting the floor, the male tensing as Schneep approached Chase.

"You dummkopf." Schneep hiccuped as he hugged Chase close, tears streaming down his face.

"Sorry, don't like being serious for too long." Chase apologized meekly, chuckling softly as he hugged Schneep back before rubbing his sore cheek.

"Doc?" Chase spoke up tentatively as Schneep stepped away, the German wiping away his tears with the sleeve of his lab coat.

"Yeah?" Schneep countered, taking a deep breath before clearing his throat as he struggled to regain his composure.

"You really think that running tests on Robbie will help us find the cure?" Chase questioned as he laid back down.

"Vhat other choice do ve have? Ve don't know how much time you got left." Schneep confessed, Chase nodding grimly as he drifted off to sleep.

"Now," Schneep muttered under his breath as left Chase's room and strode towards Robbie's with his arms loaded with different medical tools.

"Time to find zhe cure."
