"My sister?"
Jaime questioned shaking his head. He and Tyrion joined in the same room as Hellen. Though she had wished that what she had said would stay between them, Tyrion believes it best to being Jaime into the middle of things.
"We need you to find out if it's true. If our sister really did hire an assassin to kill father."
"And you believe that this man is telling the truth? A hire hand who was sent to kill our father, only to kill our unborn sibling instead?"
Jaime's tone was full of doubt. Hellen pressed her hands together turning in her seat to look up at Jaime.
"Your sister is the person who bashed me during my wedding with your father. She clearly has it out for me, on top of that she attempted to make your father believe that we were having a love affair! Is hiring an assassin really so far fetched?"
Hellen questioned. Jaime shook his head. His hand against his sword as he moved to look out Tyrion's window. The shorter man sighed while he poured himself a glass.
"It's no secrete that she misses the throne. It's also no secrete that she has displeasure for Hellen."
"But she wouldn't hire someone to kill our father!"
Jaime shouted swrilling around.
"She's done everything else to try and keep them apart. Even pinning the blame on you, dear brother. Why not try to kill father -- he's not exactly anyone's favorite."
Tyrion said sipping his wine.
"Jaime, all we're asking is for you to get close to your sister again. It's no secrete that you two..."
Hellen paused trying to think of a polite way to word it.
"You've rolled about in the sheets."
Tyrion picked up causing Hellen to look at him.
"And therefore have shared a bond that only the two of you have. Figure out if our assassin is telling the truth. That's all she's asking brother."
"I am with Breanne!"
"And your father could be without a head and you on the throne if your sister has much to say!"
Hellen boasted trying of this conversation and Jaime's stubbornness.
"Jaime, be a lad and do this if not for Hellen then for your future wife. Think of how she would feel if Hellen were to fall victim to something more tragic."
Tyrion offered. Jaime sighed rubbing his face. He didn't want that to happen to either of the women.
"Alright. I'll see what I can find out."
Hellen paced back and forth in Tyrion's chambers. Her and the little man had been waiting all night to hear something, anything, from Jaime about his sister.
But the more she paced back and forth the more she became self-aware of just how anxious she was. She needed to know if what her assassin said was true and if Cersei was the one behind the attempted attack on Tywin. That's all she needed to know and with that she could be able to take her evidence to her Lord husband and have him see fit as to what punishment would be brought about to his own daughter.
But minutes turned into hours as she waited with her friend, and stepson. It wasn't until her pacing finally stopped did the chamber door open causing her to turn looking at the person who entered the door, and Tyrion to loll his head to the side seeing his elder brother enter the room.
When Jamie entered the room he close the door slowly allowing the click to ring loud through the silent room. Turning back he looked grimly toward his Queen. Feeling her heart stopped in her chest from his expression it was almost as if she already knew the answer to the question that floated in the air, but nobody dare spoke.
"You... you were right. Cersei had planned to kill father. She highered the assassination attempt."
Feeling faint Hellen reached out and grabbed the bedpost holding herself up. Tyrion rose with haste from his chair while Jaime rushes to her side as well. Hellen's hand wrapped around her abdomen as she sobbed.
Her baby had been killed by the jealously of her step-daughter.
Tywin stood with his back to his son. His wife's at not far from them on a small bench in Tywin's office. Tyrion sat not far from his Queen while Jamie stood before his father. Tywin slowly turned around nodding his head as his lips pressed firmly together although there was a slight quiver given as his eyes moved up to gaze upon his eldest son.
"And you're certain?"
He questioned wanting to be absolutely sure that his eldest knew what he was talking about. Jaime nodded.
"She told me everything. About how she hires the assassin. About how he put fear in Hellen during the pursuit in the garden. The attempt on your life. Everything."
Tywin nodded again. His hands cupped behind his back as he moved slowly toward his desk. He gazed upon the papers his bottom lip being brought into his mouth before releasing it.
"Have her collected quietly. Nobody is to know anything. I want it seen personally by you yourself and Brennan that she is to be escorted to the black keep until I figure out what to do about her."
Tywin lifted his heas, his emotions strangled.
"From there I want your man -- "
Tywin motioned toward Tyrion.
"To keep an eye on her. Nobody else is to know. No cooks, servents, maids, guards -- nobody. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes."
"Yes father."
"Good. Now leave us. I just speak with my wife."
He dismisses his sons giving them their tasks. It wasn't long before the two of them, Tywin and Hellen, were left alone together in his office. There was a moment before Tywin moved next to his wife and sat down on the small bench beside her.
Then he did the unexpected. He laid his head on her shoulder. Wrapping her arms around him, she held him close to her.
"I am sorry."
He barely managed startling Hellen. His voice was so weak and broken. Almost as if all that had happened he had blamed himself. Keeping him close Hellen shushed him. Her hand rubbing the back of his head.
For what else could a Queen do but to comfort her King in their time of need?
