Warped Savior
A Michelle centered chapter!
Should I do more personal chapters for the others? You know, to show what they've been through?
After their awesome lunch at Eret's castle, the five had dismissed themselves and went back to their respective homes. Michelle had messaged Yogurt about everything they had found out that day. She was.. surprised, to say the least.
Michael and Michelle walked together back towards Snowchester.
"Wow. We found out so much more stuff, huh?", Michael started.
"Hm? Yeah, it's crazy", Michelle replied.
She smiled.
"There's still so much I wanna know about my brother".
Michael frowned.
"From what I heard he wasn't exactly.. the greatest".
Michelle sighed.
"Yeah, I know. But I'm sure there's more to him..".
He shrugged.
"Who knows?".
The two reached and waved goodbye to eachother. Michelle opened the door and entered her house. She saw Niki sitting on the couch/sofa, watching something on the tv.
"Hi, Michelle!".
"Hey, Niki..".
She joined Niki on the couch/sofa. Niki looked at her concerned.
"Are you okay, Micha?".
Michelle like that nickname. It always made her happy. She faked a smile.
"I'm fine, Niki".
Niki knew that she wasn't fine. But she decided to stay out of it, atleast for now. She tried to start a conversation.
"So..How was your day today?".
Michelle didn't respond. Niki snapped her fingers.
"Michelle?".
Michelle looked up.
"Hm? Oh! Oh, uh, nothing much. Just, hanging out with my friends".
Niki smiled and pulled the girl into a comfortable hug.
"I bet you had fun, huh?".
Michelle sunk into her and looked away.
"Yeah..sure did".
The two sat in a comfortable silence. Soon after, their names were called.
"Michelle! Niki! Time for dinner!".
The two went to the dining room and sat attable. Captain Puffy, retired captain of the royal guard and...sailor, mother to Michelle and partner to Niki, had set a wonderful dinner for them.
She smiled at Niki.
"I'm so glad you came over for dinner, Niki".
Niki smiled back.
"Of course. Nothing like spending time with you and Michelle".
She ruffled Michelle's hair as they girl giggled.
The family ate in peace, talking about their day. Of course, Michelle didn't say much. She really didn't want to accidentally ruin the calm atmosphere.
After having dinner, Puffy was able to convince Niki to stay longer. She was a bit hesitant, but finally agreed.
The two went back to the couch/sofa while Puffy went to kitchen. Michelle looked at her lap, thinking.
Puffy once adopted Dream, right? Does that mean-
Suddenly, an idea popped up for Michelle. A sudden, bugging itch to ask Puffy about her brother. It seemed like a stupid idea to her, but it won't hurt to try, right?
Michelle entered the kitchen to see Puffy washing some dishes.
"Hey, mom?".
She snapped out of her thoughts and turned to Michelle.
"Yes, Michelle?".
She went back to washing the dishes, but still listening.
"I, um, wanted to ask you something".
Michelle fidgeted with her outfit. Puffy nodded, signalling Michelle to continue.
"Could you..could you tell me more about Dream?".
Puffy visibly stiffened, almost dropping the plate in her hand.
"Why do want to know about him now, Michelle?", she asked coldly.
There was slight anger in her voice, but sorrow as well. Michelle gulped.
"It just, came to my mind. He was my brother afte-".
"Michelle".
She wasn't expecting to get cut off.
"Y-yes?".
Michelle looked at her mother nervously. She didn't turn around to face her, but she kept talking.
"Michelle. I've told you this once, I've told you this twice: Dream is no longer your brother. He never was. Now, I'd be very grateful if you don't ask about him again".
"I-...Yes, mother".
Michelle sighed and turned around. She saw Niki standing near the door frame, looking worried.
"I overheard you talking to Puffy...Are you okay?".
Michelle fought the tears forming in her eyes.
"It's-it's nothing..Goodnight, Niki".
Before Niki could say anything, Michelle ran off to her room, slamming the door shut.
She slid onto the floor, hugging her knees.
'If even his own mother hated him, then could Dream really be the awful monster I've read in the books?'.
Michelle got lost in her thoughts. A memory actually. Something that happened so long ago, she was surprised she hasn't forgotten it.
Flashback~
A very small Michelle, who got seperated from her family during a Hoglin hunt, was roaming the Nether. She was in a weird blue forest. It looked a little like her old home, but blue.
"What the- what's a baby piglin doing here?", she heard someone say.
She quickly turned around and got scared.
A man wearing a white mask with a scary smiled drawn on it was looking down at her. She was shaking from head to toe.
"Hey, are you alright?".
He knelt down to her level. She stood back, but realised she didn't have anywhere to go from there.
"P-please don' hu-t me..".
She whimpered. She wasn't sure if the stranger even understood what she said. But she was surprised to hear him say:
"I won't hurt you, okay?".
She looked at him curiously. He pulled his mask to the the side of his face. Michelle's eyes sparkled to see a kind smile, completely different from the one on the mask.
"I'm Dream. Do you have a name?".
Before Michelle could say anything, she was cut of by a loud Hoglin squeal. It was freaking out about some warped fungi. When it saw Dream and Michelle, it became hostile.
Dream quickly took out his sword and pushed Michelle behind him. Michelle covered her eyes. She wasn't always the brave girl everyone looked up to.
In the blink of an eye, the Hoglin was long gone, a piece of leather and pork chop in it's place. Dream huffed in annoyance.
Michelle breathed heavily. She was scared. Tears were collecting in her eye. She was never attacked like that before.
Dream snapped his head towards Michelle when he heard crying. He put away his sword and comforted the child.
"Hey hey hey! Don't cry. You're safe with me, okay?".
She grabbed his cloak and hugged him as tight as she could. Dream was surprised at this. It's been a while since anyone had showed him affection.
"Th- thank 'ou..".
Dream held Michelle protectively. He knew the kid won't be useful to him. But the long lost sense of brotherliness had returned, atleast for that moment.
End of Flashback~
Michelle sighed again, tears overwhelming her eye. That was the first and last time she ever saw Dream. She didn't even know that he was her future brother. Or atleast, supposed to be brother.
She still couldn't believe that he was truly evil. The man who saved her? Protected her? Comforted her? There was no way.
But then again, Dream may have just done that to save his own skin. Maybe he just took pity on her. Maybe he was planning to do something bad to her, but didn't have the time to-
No. Michelle quickly went against that idea. Besides, it wasn't fully about Dream saving her. It was that smile. That kind smile that she's never gotten from anyone. Well, anyone then. She gets smiles all the time now. But it'll never be the same as Dream's.
The lights outside her room turned off. She guessed the others went to bed. Michelle wiped her tears and got up from the floor. It was a school night, and Michelle needed some rest.
There we go! Backstory on how Dream and Michelle met! I was originally gonna make something with Michelle sneaking out the forest and meeting Dream there, with just them talking. But then I realised that Puffy adopted Michelle AFTER Dream was imprisoned (I think?). So, I had to scratch that idea. Then came up with this. It's okay if you don't like my story. Please be respectful in the comments. Eat, drink and take lot's of rest. I hope you're having a wonderful day. If not, just remember, YOU ARE LOVED!
