Chapter 4-A new view

"I'm going to go down," Døv says tying her hair up in a messy ponytail, leaving a strand hanging in front of her eyes.

"No you are not," Sophie exclaims, voice filled with venom.

"What will you do if I go down?"

"I-uh....shut up!"

Døv just smirks at this and sits on the edge of the hole, dangling her legs down into the black abyss. She shuffled forward, moving some extra boards out of the way until there was a hole about 3 feet wide.

"Ok I'm calling 911...NO SERVICE! WHAT KIND OF PLACE IS THIS!?"

Sophie rambles while Døv stares down the hole, into the void. It's almost hypnotising how it's just black, nothing. Just black. Going on and on for what could be miles.

She's falling, down the hole, down into darkness, she can't see a thing. There's no sound but the beating of her own heart and her shaky, uneven breaths. The tapping starts up again, Døv had forgotten about it but now, now it was loud and wanted attention.

Expecting a hard impact she braced after falling for 5 seconds, but there was none. She landed on a soft pile of pillows and blankets, it didn't entirely soften the fall, she still felt a bit of pain but not as much as she expected. Luckily from where she entered it's letting a small dot of yellow light come through onto the pillows.

It was soft until Sophie landed on top of her. Letting out groans of pain. The tiny speck of light that's struggling to get through is soon covered. Leaving the room pitch black.

"I told you so!"Sophie shouted. "I told you that if we come down here the hole will be covered and then we'll die. Why did you even come down here?" Døv could tell she was glaring, even in the darkness.

"Why did you come down as well?" She asked avoiding the question.

"I don't want to be locked in a room all alone, it's common sense I thought someone like you should know that."

"Whatever" Døv exclaimed while rolling her eyes at Sophie's antics, ignoring the hurtful comment. Døv felt around in the direction of Sophie trying to grab her, because she didn't want to just sit there talking, she wanted to get out. She finally felt her thigh "Sorry" she half-heatedly mumbled and grabbed her wrist, which was resting on her thigh. "Get up I don't want to stay here for long." Sophie followed what she said, getting up and letting herself be dragged by Døv.

"Do you even know where you're going?"

"No, but I have a feeling." That was true, she heard a slight ringing in her left ear, but she wasn't sure wether  it was from the fall or if it was her intuition telling her something.

"Okay cool," She said sarcastically.

Døv eventually felt the comfort of a wall, running her fingertips over the slightly bumpy wall which she could only infer to be brick. "Okay that's enough!" Sophie spat while yanking Døv's hand off of her wrist. "I'm not a 'damsel in distress that needs your saving. I'm perfectly fine on my own." She screamed without a care who heard, no one would, they were alone. "Fuck off!" With her final statement she stormed off towards nowhere.

The tapping started up again.
