❀Chapter Six❀
"Sometimes it's better to not know."
Leona was relieved to finally be back somewhere she actually felt comfortable.
Don't get her wrong, she loved Fowler's cabin in the woods, but she felt more at home at the Autobot base than she did anywhere else. It was odd.
And it probably didn’t help that her sleep was filled with weird images, mostly of a strange scene where two bodies lay on the floor, covered in blood. The man had claw marks on his chest while the woman had a knife inbedded in her chest.
Leona shook the image away again as it entered her mind.
"Are you okay, Leona?" Raf asked, his brown eyes worried from behind his glasses.
Leona nodded, "Yeah, just daydreaming."
If Leona's senses weren't as sharp as they were, she probably wouldn't have noticed how - not that she had been watching him unconsciously from the corner of her eye at all - Ironhide seemed to pick up on the lie that she had uttered.
"Okay," Raf smiled, unnoticed of the most obvious lie in all of history that had just been spoken to him.
Leona gave the younger boy a puzzled look, "Say… where's your friends?"
Raf blinked up from his laptop, confusion in his eyes before they widened in understanding, "Miko's in detention - again - and Jack's finishing his shift at KnockOut," he paused at her even more confused look on her face, "it's a fast food restaurant that's rather popular here in Jasper."
"Oh," Leona nodded, letting the information sink in, "Um, what's "fast food"?"
Raf almost gaped at her, until he realized, just how much of her memory had been lost, "It is what it is fast, unhealthy food that most people like better than making - healthy - food at home," he explained.
Leona's nose wrinkled as she remembered the scent from the blue eyed boy, she didn't know which scents were the "fast food" but there was something about his smell that she definitely didn't like, "And Jack works there?" She asked, tilting her head in confusion.
"Yeah," Raf nodded, "He works mostly on serving the customers, must if his co-workers are currently unavailable, he'll deal with the food."
Leona nodded. Her next question seemed to surprise Raf quite a bit, "Where did you get those scars?"
Raf's face paled instantly as he glanced at his arms, only to tug his sleeves back down, "Nowhere," he said quickly, "I fell over.""
Leona took his body language -and the way his calming scent had changed to more anxious smell - as a cue to not go in that direction, "Oh, okay," she said, her voice soft apologetic.
Raf gave her a tight lipped smile, "Anything else?"
Leona paused, thinking hard. Until she remembered something that Fowler's coworker said, "Where are my parents?"
Raf blinked in surprise, before taking a nervous breath of air, "Are you sure you want to know?" He asked her, twiddling his hands nervously.
Leona frowned, "Why wouldn't I?" She asked.
Raf looked away, hoping for anyone to help him out…
“Raf?” Leona asked, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“Uh,” Raf struggled to find something acceptable to respond with, “Well- they-”
“Heya, Raf!” Miko popped up, much like a freaking cartoon character. Thus, this cause both Leona and Raf to jump in surprise, “Whoa! Yes! Two for One!”
“Miko!” Raf complained as she giggled.
Leona just muttered a curse under her breath at the interruption, she had just been about to get whatever Fowler had been hiding (and obviously everyone had) been hiding from her.
"Stupid, extroverted emo punk," Leona grumbled under her breath. Her eyes widening the slightest. Where the hell did that come from?
Raf and Miko didn't seem to notice her, as Raf was too busy scolding Miko - which was very funny for the fifteen year old, as normally it was Jack who told her off - and Miko was grinning proudly still.
Leona sighed, rolling her eyes. Everyone always ends up forgetting about me.
"That's not true," something told her, making Leona's eyes widen as she looked around for the source of the voice. She was quickly growing frustrated when she didn't see anything.
"Hey, Kitty," Leona scowled at the nickname Miko had given her, "What's up?"
"Nothing," Leona told the girl, shaking her head.
Miko raised an eyebrow at her, but shrugged as she went back to arguing with Raf.
Leona's eyes moved around the Autobot base, picking up small details with her sharp eyesight. Her ears picked up the sound of Arcee returning back to base, along with the soft breaths of Jack.
She focused back on what was happening in front of her when she realized that both Raf and Miko were staring at her, "Yes?"
"Nothing," Miko sang innocently.
Leona was confused for a moment, before she glanced back at where she had staring into nothingness- Oh, now she understood why Miko was acting like that.
Leona's cheeks instantly glowed red as she ducked her gaze to the floor. Nope, nope, nope, that was not what had happened…
"Why was Leona staring at Ironhide?" Raf's whisper to Miko floated across the room.
Leona closed her eyes, hoping to be anywhere else at that moment-
"She's got a little crush on him," Miko giggled, "And I'm sure it's returned."
Leona groaned, "No thanks," she growled out, embarrassment sweeping throughout her veins, "I'll be outside," she tells the rest of Team Prime as she shifts into her Lioness form, running down the stairs to the main floor of the base, then traveling through the tunnel, and out the steel door that opened when Arcee and Jack returned.
She was just a tawny blurr to the pair when she ran past, into the desert of Jasper, Nevada.
Ironhide was the first Autobot, besides Arcee, to notice the disappearance of Leona, concern growing him his spark, "Where's Leona?"
The human femme gave him a smirk as she answered, "She just needed some air.",
Here's Chapter Six!
Oh, my Primus; I had forgotten how fun it is to write this story. Leona is just brilliant - in my personal option - and I love this whole plot.
Damn, it's been way too long since this book got updated. It's been way too long since most of my books have been updated.
I am so sorry for this massive writer's block I've gotten for all my published stories these past few months, I promise that I am working on finishing up the rest of the plot for this book - what? Silver-Ashley, actually planning something in her books? THE WORLD IS ENDING! - and I'm sure that none of you will be disappointed with what I've currently got in store!
Hope you enjoyed!
