Chapter 5

A/N: Tanner (and Robby) are soo damn beautiful. Like damn! Not my type... But damn he is gorgeous.

(Y/N) jolted awake before the rest of the guys. The makeup clearly melted off as she gasped, carefully examining the pillow case. It was a relief no one had noticed yet. She knew she had to make a run for it.

She tip toed her way to the main hall, frustrated at everything being watched under a surveillance camera. However, (Y/N) did her best to conceal her real identity so no one else would catch her.

Her feet carried her to the main entrance where she did her best to pry the doors open. It was early in the morning. Juvie was closed to all visitors, hence everything was sealed shut, leaving the delinquents inside.

"You are playing a dangerous game without so much as a glimpse into the rule book..." a voice echoed.

She slowly rotated her body to follow the figure connected to that voice. The figure stood in a firm and daring position. His arms were crossed, overlapping one another and revealed a tattoo (Y/N) had seen before. The same tattoo - the green fire-breathing dragon.

"Hun... Hunter..." (Y/N) gasped, unable to speak after having mentioned his name.

He walked closer to her, glancing over at the doors. Hunter had observed her leaving, from the corner of his eye. He peered around the room, knowing exactly where the security cameras were installed. And that's when he pulled her into a corner.

"Come with me. Now." he whispered, immediately dragging her to a place where they couldn't be seen.

Hunter dug his hand behind her hair, pulling the piece that kept her identity hidden. (Y/N)'s hair overflowed across her chest and upper back, revealing her true form.

"Do you care to explain yourself?" he clarified, believing she had some sort of motive against a delinquent.

Luckily for her, he was calm and willing to listen to her out-of-the-world explanation, for (Y/N) had acted purely on impulse to end up in this situation.

"Long story. Sit down." she sighed, calming down after a moment of panic.

"Are you sure about this? I mean I told you everything and you'd still help me?" (Y/N) whispered as he agreed, smuggling bags of makeup under the table.

They wanted to avoid getting caught. Especially by Shawn and his friends. (Y/N) accepted the bags, smuggling them under her shirt.

"I normally don't smuggle this kinda shit. Actually... they mixed up my care package. You're lucky I didn't tell them." Hunter explained, clearly annoyed with how many bags he'd received in his package.

(Y/N) was rather shocked. She gladly took it all in, hiding them where ever she could. She shoved her hand down her pants, using the waist bags and bandages around her chest to smuggle the products.

"Ok, let's bounce now. We have to go volunteering at the soup kitchen today."

(Y/N) groaned, reluctant to serve the community as she hadn't done hard labour in a long time. She begrudgingly followed Hunter, catching up with the rest of the delinquents.

As Hunter covered for (Y/N) who finished her touch ups, they slipped on their new uniforms, headed over to the soup kitchen to serve for the day. They were due to start early.

"Let's get crackin!" the parole officer exclaimed.

Everyone was sent to their assigned stations. Which meant (Y/N) and Hunter were going to be separated for a while. It was tough for her to deal with now, given he was the only person who knew her secret. What was worse? Having him know her secret?... Or have herself ratted out - just like that?

She stayed close to whoever she knew. In this case, Robby was the only person there. He seemed nice. She couldn't ignore that.

They silently cut vegetables together as Robby split the pile between them. There was something about him. Robby didn't say much. But a lot seemed to go on in his mind.

"Shit!" he seethed in pain.

(Y/N) glanced at him, slowly directing her vision towards the knife that abruptly fell on the floor. She then noticed a trail of blood running across his finger. Instincts kicked in and before she knew it, she'd wrapped his finger under her shirt.

"Well well. We have a love story here." Shawn cooed, laughing along with his mates.

(Y/N) impulsively picked up the knife, pointing it towards Shawn. She gestured her index and middle finger towards her own pair of eyes, then back at his, mouthing a threat.

"Remember, I can gauge your eyes out." she threatened, mouthing those exact words.

Shawn gulped and backed off, remembering the little flashback that he had in his head. The same encounter where (Y/N) and Robby met for the first time.

"Let's go. This guy's crazy." Shawn grunted, defeated.

(Y/N) inhaled deeply to ground herself, before she genuinely did something crazy. As herself, she could potentially be set free. By attacking Shawn, she could be charged, hence either way she would end up on the wanted list.

"Are you alright?" Robby asked, dusting the rest of the blood off of his finger.

"Yeah, just people like him piss me off. They think they can just say and do whatever they want." (Y/N) rambled, talking about Shawn. "He reminds me of someone I hate--and want to stay away from."

"Yeah I've got people like that too." Robby agreed, as he gestured (Y/N) to help him collect the cutlery on the shelf of the kitchen.

The community hall was filled with indistinct chatter as every five people coming in added to the noisy atmosphere, as a result. Robby was serving spoonful's of soup, gently smiling at each resident passing.

(Y/N) noticed this a smile of defeat. The same smile she had on her face when she was practically homeschooled and locked up for most of her life. She most definitely recognised that smile. Hence, there was something intruiguing about Robby. The little journalist in her was dying to know.

She glanced his way again as he was seen conversing with a tall blonde haired man who had helped him lift a giant pot of soup. He was clean shaven and wore a black zip up jacket over a plain white shirt.

"Look, I know we've had our problems, Robby. But you know, before that fight at the school you and I were headed the right direction." the man explained, hoping to get into Robby's good books.

"We had one good day, over a month ago. Where have you been since?" Robby questioned.

(Y/N) raised a brow, astonished at how poised and calm he'd been throughout the conversation. She knew for a fact her dad would be pleased with having someone like Robby working for the firm.

She overheard the rest of the conversation, realising what Robby had done. However, she could see where his dad was coming from. Part of her knew his heart was in the right place. But the situation they were both in was messed up.

"Robby, come on--" he sighed, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Don't touch me asshole!" Robby retaliated, losing his composure.

The hall went silent as the hot contents in the gigantic pot spilt all over the floor.

"I don't need you anymore." Robby spoke, coldly.

He was in complete defeat. Robby took off his hairnet and bolted for the doors. (Y/N) did the same and followed to help him out.

"I'm sorry you had to hear that." Robby revealed, with his back turned to (Y/N).

She nodded, placing her hands in her pocket as she took a few steps further to face him. He turned to her as their eyes met once again. In a rather, different way. (Y/N) allowed herself to look deeper into them, noticing specks and twinkles at the corner of his eyes.

"You know, you don't have to hide around me. Besides, I have a bit of a gift." she snorted, using her best male voice impersonation she could.

Robby sat down by the wall next to the trash cans as (Y/N) mimicked. She sat with her legs apart, resting her elbows on her knees with her arms dangling freely.

"I don't know what you heard. But I'm tired of people acting like they care." Robby explained.

"I'm not sure I understand."

"Well, it's a long story. You got time?"
