Chapter 13

A/N: **Warning** Long A/N next chapter. I think. Anyhow, enjoy, my lovelies ;)

That same day, (Y/N) returned. After putting the pieces together, she figured going on a date with Caleb was the perfect chance to get an intel on him. Lucky for her, Caleb was more straightforward, despite coming across as a total dimwit.

"When did you get home?" a voice echoed across the room.

Kent.

"Yeah just about an hour ago. I've got a date soon."

She wanted to get to the bottom of things and do it her way. After all, she simply wanted to get her dad back and expose the situation her mother had put her in.

Dressed in her cutest floral dress and sneakers, (Y/N) opted for a low braided ponytail. Enough to at least make her look harmless.

On her way to the skate park, she'd met up at her designated spot. Her phone buzzed, only to flash a text that no one would expect on their first date.

"Why am I not surprised?" (Y/N) scoffed, about to leave the skate park.

As she made her way out, she stopped in her tracks, hearing a familiar voice behind her.

"Going somewhere?"

She completed a 180, facing the same familiar face she'd seen and been smitten with all this time. He was here and looked better than ever before. Especially with his skateboard.

Robby.

"Uh yeah, sorry... I-I was just about to head home." she responded, trying to hide the second hand embarrassment from him.

Robby kept his smile across his face, realising he was face to face with one of the most beautiful souls out there. He had not forgotten the night (Y/N) helped him whilst drunk. As lovely as it was for (Y/N) to finally meet Robby - as a girl, she was more disappointed that her plan had failed.

"You don't have to hide from me. I know guys like Caleb." he implied, suggesting most men were flaky and did not know how to treat a woman right.

(Y/N) felt a cold chill running down her spine at the thought of Caleb being mentioned. How has Robby not found out yet?

"I'm fine... I have to go now." she blurted, immediately turning away from him.

Robby sighed, unsure of what he could do to make up for his friend's screw up. He sped to her direction and gently placed a hand on her shoulder, hoping it would bring some comfort. Some degree of comfort - even though it wasn't the best solution to her problem.

"Let's do something fun and get your mind off of it." he offered.

How could anyone say no to someone like Robby? He was a total sweetheart. Even now, in this moment.

She agreed and followed along. His handsome face and undeniably charismatic personality made it impossible for her to decline.

"Are you ready for this?" Robby smirked.

(Y/N) gulped and nervously studied the ramp. It was definitely scary. Not something she'd ever done before. Robby snaked his arms around her shoulders, each hand holding the opposite shoulder.

One foot stepped off the skateboard and pushed the two of them using the lightest force possible. As the skateboard started to move, (Y/N) closed her eyes, more nervous than ever.

"Robby this is freaking me o--"

Before she could get her final word in, they were already moving. Robby had started skating at full speed without any fancy tricks. However, this was enough to scare (Y/N) to death. She begged for her dear life, stamping her trembling hand over Robby's arm.

As they continued for a few minutes, Robby could sense she was too stunned to speak. He chuckled and started to decrease the speed, eventually stopping. The board was just under his grip. (Y/N) was frozen but still managed to step off the board.

Her mind was on a vacation whilst Robby made several attempts to snap her out of it.

"Hey!" he exclaimed, holding her shoulders to rattle her. "Are you ok?"

She vigorously nodded and refused to admit he'd freaked her out.

"Let's go get some food. I'll buy since... I might've traumatised you." he chuckled.

As they sat down with a share platter of food, Robby and (Y/N) had talked about an infinite amount of topics. Surprisingly, they had a lot in common with the exception of a few hobbies. For (Y/N), this was the first time she'd got the chance to talk to him - as herself.

It was nice, not having to hide behind an identity and figure out whether he'd liked her for who she was.

"You seem super cool. I also wanted to say I'm sorry for acting like a dick earlier." he explained, referring to his drunken episode.

Unknowingly, Robby had spilled all the details about his relationship with Sam. Why? Who knows. All he knew was how comfortable he was, talking to her. (Y/N) did not expect this but was glad she took the chance.

"I'd rather you apologise for getting me to skate with you." she interjected, trying to lighten up the mood.

Robby snickered and recalled that moment again. However, this time, he took it as an opportunity to roast her.

"You looked so scared, it was kind of funny."

(Y/N) rolled her eyes, threatening to leave, playing along but also wishing he would stop bringing that up. As she smirked, taking the platter elsewhere, Robby snatched the platter back from her. She refused to give it up.

After their little tug of war fight, she found herself almost tripping over Robby. Luckily he caught her in time.

"I-I'm so sorry, I lost my balance and--"

Robby closed the gap as a smile plastered across his face, knowing (Y/N) reciprocated. She was caught by surprise but melted into his arms, soon as she realised what was going on. After a short moment, she pulled away for air whilst Robby's eyes were completely fixated on her.

"... And I should probably get going." she whispered, almost unable to speak up.

Robby inter-twined his hands with hers, leading the way. For the rest of the trip home, she was stunned and was unable to speak.
