Chapter Twenty-Six | Beginning of the End

|Camelot|
❃
It was Violet who first saw Hercules and Cleo stumbling into Camelot. She rushed over to them once she realized who they were. "Herc? Cleo?"
"Hi. Hercules was bit by a g-giant dog. C-Cerberus," Cleo said in her normal panicky voice.
Herc nodded. "We were completing my final labor; defeating Cerberus, the three-headed dog. But I'm not so sure I can do that on my own. Before we could get away, Cerberus got one good shot at my arm."
Violet looked at Herc's arm, which was wrapped in a blood-soaked cloth. "We should get you to a healer," Violet said. "It could get infected without proper treatment. Follow me."
"Wait!" Herc stopped the girl. "After Cerberus bit me, Hades appeared. Thankfully, he didn't see Cleo, but he thinks she's hiding in Camelot. He's declared war on your kingdom!"
"What?!" Violet exclaimed. "But Camelot isn't even completely restored from the Dark Curse yet! Queen Guinevere said it could be at least a year until we fully recover."
"You don't have a year," Hercules warned. "You don't even have two days. We need to get to the palace and warn Guinevere. It's possible the armies of DunBroch and Arendelle could help defend Camelot, but even that might not be enough."
"We need the heroes from Storybrooke," Violet said, determined. "But they aren't due back until Henry's sibling is born, six months from now. Unless we can send them a note somehow..."
"Mermaids," Cleo suggested. "Mermaids' tails are made of magical scales that allow them to travel between realms. A mermaid could deliver your message to Storybrooke. I know a mermaid who would do it."
"Great! Let's go!" Herc exclaimed.
"No, wait," Violet interrupted. "Herc, you go warn Queen Guinevere. I'll go with Cleo to find a mermaid. And get that wound cleaned up."

|Storybrooke|
❃
"'Dear Storybrooke,
I've completed all but one of my labors. I nearly died trying to complete the final one, but Cleo and I are both safe in Camelot. However, Hades thinks the people of Camelot have been hiding Cleo this whole time. He declared war on them, and Camelot is in no shape to fight this battle. Queen Guinevere has contacted Queen Merida, Queen Elsa, and Queen Cinderella for help, but in a war against Hades, that might not be enough.
We need your help.
I understand it's dangerous for Regina to use the wand again, and the deal was that you would return after her baby was born, but if you don't help, entire kingdoms may be destroyed. If there is any way you can even send something back with Ariel to help us, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm taking a break from my labors to help out Camelot and train the armies with Mulan and Queen Merida's help. Violet is learning how to be a healer so she can help with the battle.
It may be possible that you can't do anything to help, I know, but I figured I should try.
Sincerely, Hercules
For--'
Oh, uh, Henry..." Emma handed the letter to Henry, "There's parts written for only you and Meg to read."
Meg and Henry looked down at the letter and read the words silently;
'For Henry and Meg's eyes only:
Henry,
I miss being with you in Storybrooke. If your family is able to help, please try to go with, even if you have to sneak away. I know that's not hard for you to do. If not, maybe they'll still come back after you mom's baby is born, and you can come with then. Either way, I really miss you and Storybrooke, even if it was a strange land.
Love,
Violet
Meg,
I'm hoping your moms don't read this and yell at me again, but if it gets them to jump realms, I guess I don't mind. I just wanted to say that I know you may not want me back after what I did, but if there's any small part of you that wants to try again, I would be willing to change. I only ever wanted you to be happy, Meg, I swear.
Yours Truly,
Herc'
Meg and Henry both smiled sadly when they finished reading the letters sent specifically for them. Meg tore off the bottom part of the letter before handing the main part addressed to all of Storybrooke back to Emma. She ripped Henry's letter apart from hers and handed what Violet wrote to Henry.
Most of Storybrooke had gathered in Granny's, as the news of the letter spread fairly quickly. But since Meg was asking about Herc, Henry was asking about Violet, Ruby was asking about Mulan, and several others were asking about other people, Emma had decided to read the letter out loud. Ariel was sitting alone in the corner, only lingering in Storybrooke to see what their final decision would be.
"We need to send help," Ruby spoke up. "If I can somehow find the other Children of the Moon... they might be able to help."
"We need to at least tell them about the prophecy," Belle agreed. "And help would be great. But how can we get to the Enchanted Forest?"
Ruby smiled. "I have just the way. It wasn't ready when the first group left weeks ago, but Tiny and I have been working on that bean field. And we've finally managed to get it to thrive again. So the only question is who is going to the Enchanted Forest?"
"Killian and I are going," Emma announced. "I have magic and Killian can help Hercules, Merida and Mulan train up warriors."
"I can help too," Robin offered. "Merida might like another archer."
"So the normal group of heroes?" Ruby asked. "Emma, Hook, Snow, David, Regina, Robin, Belle, Gold, and Henry? And I'll come with as well to continue my search for the other wolves."
"I'll help too," Lily volunteered. "I can turn into a dragon, and that could be helpful."
"Sounds good," Emma agreed. "Except Henry's not going."
"What?!" Henry exclaimed. "But I'm the Author"
"You're also only fourteen," Regina reminded him. "It's not safe for you there."
"Regina," Robin said quietly, "you're not going either."
Now, it was Regina's turn to argue. "No! Robin, I'm not staying here. If anything, I can use a sword and I know about magic better than anyone here besides Belle and maybe Gold. And...what if something happens to you? I'll just be...waiting here, and you'll never come back."
"And what if something happens to Violet?" Henry added, using his mom's argument to his advantage.
Finally, it was decided that Emma, Killian, Mary Margaret, Regina, Robin, Belle, Neal, Arthur, Henry, Meg, Dorothy, Ruby, Lily, and August would travel to Camelot to help. David would stay behind and watch baby Neal and Roland while Gold stayed with Evelyn.
Ruby collected a bean while everyone else gathered what they would need while in Camelot. The portal to Camelot was opened near the town line, where nothing would be destroyed.
Roland, David, baby Neal, Gold, Evelyn and Zelena had come to say goodbye to the group leaving. Belle wrapped her arms tightly around Gold. "I love you."
"I love you too," Gold kissed Belle quickly before she turned her attention to her daughter. "I'm going to miss you so much. You be good for your dad, okay?" Belle kissed Evelyn's forehead and wiped her tears away. "Goodbye. I'll see you again when this is over."
Mary Margaret was reluctant to leave her husband, but he had been the one to volunteer to stay behind with the children. She pulled David into a kiss. When they broke apart, Mary Margaret handed her son to David. "Goodbye."
"Goodbye, Snow."
Mary Margaret smiled sadly and brushed away the tears that had begun to trickle down her cheeks.
"Do you have to go?" Roland asked his dad and stepmom. "Last time was long."
"I know," Regina said in an apologetic tone. "It shouldn't be as long this time, okay? We'll be back as soon as we can."
Roland nodded and hugged Regina, "Bye, Mama." He hugged Robin next, "Bye, Papa."
Zelena pulled Arthur into a deep kiss. "I expect you to come back."
"I will," Arthur promised, even though it was a promise he wasn't sure he could keep. "If our little one comes before I get back, know that I'll be here as soon as possible."
Zelena nodded. "Okay." She pulled him into one last kiss before Arthur stepped back towards the other who were leaving.

Violet, Hercules, and Cleo were eating dinner when Ariel found them. She sat down across from them and began talking, "Storybrooke is sending help. Ruby and Tiny have been working on a bean field so they can make a portal without Regina using magic. Henry and Meg will be joining them, if you were wondering."
"Really?" Violet's eyes lit up. She turned to Herc, "I told you they would figure out a way to come!"
"When are they arriving?" Hercules asked. Before Ariel could answer, Cleo spoke up;
"Now. They're coming through now. But it might be too late. Hades is coming tomorrow at noon. They're too late. Hades is going to get me!"
"No." Hercules interrupted the Firebird. "No, he won't. We'll have a fighting chance now. So, let's go greet our guests."
