Let the Feathers Fly

The night stretched on and it grew colder. You had been sitting for so long that your legs had fallen asleep. You could feel your body aching for rest and you yawned, stretching your arms over your head. Jimin turned his head to you, yours now resting on his shoulder.

"We should head back to camp." He said softly, rubbing your back.

You blinked sheepishly and offered a nod in agreement.

He unwrapped his arm from around you as he stood and offered you his hand to help you up. You took it and he pulled you to your feet, dusting yourself off before the two of you started back down the trail you had used.

The sound of your feet lightly snapping small twigs and crushing leaves as you headed back drew your attention down. You let your mind wander in thought.

Jimin brought you out here. He took you to see a sight to behold. He talked to you, confided in you, and brought things to light. Aside from a kiss, he didn't try and pressure anything further.

The thought caused you to smile. He just wanted some time alone with you, nothing more. Despite how cocky and aggressive he made himself out to be sometimes, he could be so sweet.

"Thank you." You said abruptly as you raised your head to look over at him, meeting his beautiful brown eyes that were already on you.

"For what?" He questioned with a tilt of his head. His hair lightly fell in front of his eyes.

"For bringing me out here. Showing me this." You said, letting your lips spread into an appreciative smile.

Jimin's smile grew bigger. He leaned to the side, bumping his shoulder into yours playfully.

"Thank you for letting me show you this." He said back sweetly.

His smile was infectious and you mimicked it easily.

Finally, the two of you entered the clearing where the tents rested near a dormant fire, still emitting a bit of smoke that was carried away in the gentle breeze.

It seemed everyone was fast asleep. You could hear faint snoring coming from one of the tents, though you were unsure exactly who was inside.

As if walking you home from a date, Jimin walked you to your tent. Lights along the outskirts of the camp site lit your way as your tired feet carried you.

When you finally reached the tent you and Nova were supposed to share, you pulled open the flap and crouched inside, sitting near the opening as you popped off your shoes. Jimin knelt down, looking at you from outside. He didn't look like he had any plans to leave.

"Are you just going to stay there all night?" You questioned sarcastically.

"Well, you could invite me in..." He said with a sinister grin and a wink that you caught even in the darkness.

You sat your shoes down near the entrance and swiftly grabbed one of the many pillows behind you. Swinging it around, you swatted him on the side of the face with it in a playful scold. "You wish." You teased.

"Oh, that's how you want to play?" He replied, raising a hand to brush back his hair as you watched his locks fall free to hang in his face.

He lunged inside, grabbing one of the pillows quickly before you could stop him and swatted it back at you, hitting the side of your body.

You turned, taking a tighter grip on your pillow as you swung it back in his direction. He met you with the same force as the two of you spontaneously started a war with the pillows inside your tent.

Grabbing your blanket, you quickly tossed it up in attempts to create a barrier and avoid his next attack. But it still connected anyway and managed to knock you down.

You squealed under the blanket, toppling to the ground and falling on the mountain of disarrayed bedding. Jimin landed a series of soft blows to your cloaked body.

You tried to rid yourself of the protection that had now become a hindrance, but the blanket seemed endless. You mumbled curse words as you tried to free yourself from the prison you had created so that you could retaliate.

All of a sudden, you felt the pillow freeze and heard Jimin rustling around in the tent. You could see his silhouette thanks to the lantern that hung in the corner. He slithered his body under the blanket so that the two of you were under the fort together.

You pushed the blanket up, trying to create a pocket of air. But in doing so, you noticed the ethereal man only a foot away from you. You locked eyes for that split second under the covers.

The soft light of the lantern in your tent made the blanket glow. His tousled pink hair was everywhere and he brushed it from his eyes. He smiled at you and it was like you were seeing an angel, who had just fallen from heaven. His beauty was immortal and you were left dazed.

He leaned forward slowly, the smile leaving his lips as he stared at yours. You smirked and leaned back, reaching behind you to grab the edge of the blanket. Bringing it up, you pulled it over your head and down over Jimin's, trapping him underneath the cotton throw.

You scuttled away and turned to reclaim your pillow while Jimin still struggled to break free.

You took the opportunity to attack, raising the pillow up above your head and slamming it back down onto his form while he was blinded. You could hear him laugh under the covers and his body curled up in defense. You struck again and again, the pillow making soft, harmless thuds against his body.

"Give up!" You demanded in a raise whisper.

"Never." He called out. You swung once more and continued your assault until finally he relented. "Okay, truce!"

You laughed in triumph as you tossed the pillow away. "I win!" You teased in a sing song voice.

"You cheated." Jimin huffed, finally able to free himself from the blanket.

"You did the same to me, stop being a sore loser." You said with a cocky grin, folding your arms across your chest.

Jimin laughed as he sat up straight. "Maybe I let you win." He shrugged and stuck his tongue out at you.

"And that's exactly something someone who's sore about losing would say." You added with a wiggle of your head.

The two of you snickered before Jimin began to move out of the tent and turn back around to face you.

"I demand a rematch some time." Jimin challenged, holding the flap of the tent open to look in at you.

"Oh? You're a masochist for losing, huh?" You smirked at him.

Jimin let his plump lips spread into a dangerous grin. "You should find out first hand." He said, his charming tone turning flirtatious.

You flicked your brows at him. "Goodnight, Jimin." You said, letting the words roll off your tongue as you returned his cocky attitude.

"Goodnight, Y/N." He smiled back before ducking out of the tent to return to his own.

You zipped up the tent flap and turned, moving to reorganize the blankets and pillows. You had brought pajamas in here earlier and couldn't wait to change into them. You grabbed the soft set of night clothes after sifting through your bag and set them aside. Pulling off your capris, you slipped your legs into your purple shorts.

You lifted your shirt over your head, but you froze as you heard the tent zipper being pulled up once more. You scrambled to pull your shirt on, struggling clumsily. Before you could get it over your head, Namjoon's head popped into your tent, making you relax instantly.

You breathed out in relief, placing a shaking hand over your heart. "Good god, you scared the shit out of me!"

He opened the flap the rest of the way and crawled inside. His brows were set in a deep frown, his forehead wrinkling. He looked upset as he stared down at your uncovered body. You were only in your bra and shorts, your shirt still hanging from your hand. You couldn't understand what had made him look at you that way, until it hit you.

Jimin had left about two minutes ago. Namjoon must have seen him leave if he had gotten here so quickly. And you were shirtless. Oh god.

You looked down at your chest and then back up at him with wide eyes. You held your hands out to him, beseeching him to hear you out. "Wait, no, it's not what it looks like."

He remained silent for a breath as he seemed to ponder it. His eyes softened and he took a deep breath. "I believe you."

You talked in a rush without hearing him or forming actual sentences, "Jimin was here but he left and I was putting on my pajamas after he was already gone and I was about to go to sleep and nothing happened and - wait, you believe me?" You stopped blabbering and looked at him incredulously.

He smiled softly and took your hands. "Of course I do. I trust you. I have no right to be upset, anyway." He shrugged and tried to reassure you, but it only had the opposite effect. Guilt crept up your throat and slithered its way into your heart.

"Yes, you do." You moved to put your shirt on, but he snatched it out of your hand before you could.

He smirked at you, "No need to get dressed on my account." Heat flooded your face as he pulled on your arms, bring your body to his. You let him turn you so that your back was to his chest. His long legs stretched on either side of your hips and you relaxed against him. You had missed being in his arms, and you felt like you had come home.

His arms circled you protectively, cradling you to his chest. He leaned down and pressed his lips to your shoulder, making you shiver. "Are you cold?" He whispered against your skin and your eyes fluttered closed. Unable to speak, you simply shook your head in response. He continued planting soft, sweet kisses along your shoulder and neck, and you tilted your head to give him better access.

You sighed as his warm breath fanned over you when he whispered, "I like these." His fingers reached down to your shorts and thumbed the material.

You smiled and turned your head to face him, "I like you." His eyes widened and he beamed down at you. His smile dazzled you and sent your heart racing. He tilted his head and pressed his lips to yours, sending hot, vibrating electricity straight to your core. You wanted to turn and face him completely, but when you moved, his left arm tightened over both of yours, holding you firmly in place.

His free hand came up to the side of your face and held your jaw. He had you right where he wanted you and there was nothing you could do about it. The realization shouldn't have been so appealing, but it made warmth pool deep in your stomach. His tongue slid along your lower lip and you granted him permission as he slipped it into your mouth. Your tongue danced with his and he groaned, the sound forcing you to squeeze your legs together.

His mouth moved against yours, tantalizingly slow, and your thoughts left you. Your brain turned to mush and all you could comprehend was him and his sinful lips. All too soon, he pulled away, his breathing labored. He leaned his forehead against yours. "I didn't come here for this." He ran his thumb over your lower lip, pulling it down and freeing it from your teeth. You hadn't even realized you were biting it. "What are you doing to me?" His expression almost looked pained, like he was holding himself back. You wanted so badly to tell him not to.

"I could ask you the same question. I can't control myself when you're around. I don't think I want to." You admitted softly. "So, if you aren't here for ... ya know, what did you come here for?" You made sure that your tone implied that you were indeed very happy that he was with you.

He kissed the top of your head and you leaned your head on his chest once more. You snuggled against him and he ran his fingers along the side of your arm, his grip on you loosening. "I missed you." His voice rumbled in his chest and you smiled.

"I always miss you."

He chuckled, "I'm here now."

"For now."

You let out an accidental sigh and his large hand brought your chin up so that you were forced to look him in the eyes. The certainty in them made your heart stop. "For as long as you want me to be." You couldn't look away, his eyes held you captive. You reached up and wrapped your arm around his neck, pulling him down to you and placing a chaste kiss on his lips. You could tell that he meant what he had said, and it made you happier than you had been in a long time. He wasn't giving up on you, far from it.
