Hope to the Rescue!
Nova arrived about half an hour after your conversation and met you in the hotel room. The two of you waited for a while but finally the last few reporters left and you two figured it was safe to go. You weren't sure if anyone had seen you come into the hotel last night with Namjoon or not, but you didn't want to risk further damage to his reputation if you could help it.
You both left the room, keeping your eyes open and alert, and headed to the back alley behind the hotel where Hoseok waited beside his sleek white SUV, resting on the hood wearing all black. You hadn't really paid much attention to Hoseok, especially since he was sort of seeing your best friend. But as you made your way over to him, you gave him a quick, subtle once over.
He was wearing a black snap-back with a silver 'Hope' emblem on the bill, a black v-neck, a black leather jacket, and a pair of black ripped skinny jeans. He completed his ensemble with a pair of black Adidas and damn, did he look good. His head was tilted down at the moment as he scrolled through something on his phone, and his hat cast a shadow that stopped just above his sharp cheek bones. You could definitely see what Nova saw in the man. Nonetheless, you kept your guard up around him and Nova gave you a confused smile as you quickly laced your arm with hers.
"Hobi, the coast is clear." She called out to him and he looked up from whatever he was doing on his phone.
"...Hobi?" You questioned, looking at Nova with a raised brow. "Are you just giving out nicknames left and right? Kookie... Now Hobi?" You shook your head.
"Hey, he told me I could call him that." Nova said, cutting you off with a huff.
You chuckled at her and shook your head again as the two of you approached him.
"Thanks for coming to get me." You nodded to Hoseok as you offered him a very unconvincing smile.
"Least I can do after my band mates decided to act like idiots last night." Hoseok replied, offering you an even brighter smile. He radiated light, and you couldn't help but smile genuinely back at him this time. He cocked his head to the side, gesturing to the car as he moved to open the door for you and Nova. "Come on. Let's get some food." He said, waving you both into the car.
Nova climbed into the back seat with you, despite the passenger side being empty, because she didn't want you to sit back there alone. Plus, she still wanted to talk with you.
You hadn't really had a chance to tell her what had gone down last night while you waited to leave the hotel room. You had been too distracted and had kept your eyes glued to the street below and the horde of cameramen and women. Every time she had asked you a question, you had just nodded as you chewed nervously on your thumb nail. You couldn't stop thinking about Namjoon and whether or not he was getting his ass handed to him at that very moment.
Hoseok started the car as Nova began to coax you into telling her the details of the night before. You were hesitant to speak in front of Hoseok. He noticed your hesitation and shook his head as he looked at you in the review mirror.
"Whatever you say won't ever be repeated by me." Hoseok claimed as he gave you a reassuring nod before bringing his attention back to the road.
You took a deep breath and ran a hand through your hair. After a moment, you explained to her what happened last night, what was said, and how you ended up at the hotel. However, your statement trailed off after you told her how you tended to his wound with ice and didn't offer much information after that. Though she gave you a bit of a knowing look. You had been friends for a long time, and she was so in-tuned with you that she could probably figure out how that story ended.
"Namjoon can get a bit possessive when he finds something he really wants." Hoseok commented. "And Jimin can let his anger get the best of him when he doesn't get what he wants."
"Yeah that sounds like a beautiful combination for me." You rolled your eyes, voice laced with heavy sarcasm as you leaned your head back against the seat.
"They're both really good guys. They wouldn't do anything to purposefully hurt you, but they can let their 'passion' get to their heads sometimes." Hoseok said with a sigh, as if he were used to them acting this way. "Either way, they're idiots for fighting like that in front of you."
"Well, it's bad to say but I'm slightly grateful they did. Because if I hadn't been there, I have no idea how far they would have taken that fight."
"You said Suga stepped in, didn't you?" Hoseok questioned.
"Yeah?" The short but intimidating older member with his hands on both of their chests flashed behind your eyes. The way he had gotten them to stand down with only his voice was admirable, albeit a little scary.
"Then he would have dealt with them if you weren't there." Hoseok affirmed before a short pause. "Actually... yeah probably better you were there, because I don't know what Suga would have done to them if you weren't." He said with a light laugh.
Hoseok's bright energy managed to worm another smile out of you which Nova was happy to see. They were causing you to lighten up just as the car pulled up to a restaurant and the three of you got out to head inside.
***
You all sat and began to enjoy your meal at a quiet little place on the outside of town that Hoseok had apparently recommended to Nova days ago. Seemed he purposefully tried to get out of the main city since the press was abuzz about their band right now after the Namjoon incident.
You had to admit, it was adorable how innocent Hoseok seemed to become when it came to a good meal. His eyes had sparkled when the waiter brought out your lunch, and he dug in immediately. Nova looked at him with a smirk and a raised brow, and he froze mid-chew as he turned towards her. He had his cheeks full and he stared at her wide eyed as he held his chopsticks out, offering her some of his noodles. She giggled and you laughed at the pair across from you.
For the most part, the two of them helped you forget about the stress for a while, but it still lingered in the back of your mind. You decided to ask--
"So. You guys have any suggestions on what I should do about all of this... for lack of a better word, fuckery?" You released a deep breath.
"Fuck 'em." Hoseok said with a mouth full of food, which he nearly choked on when Nova elbowed him in the ribs.
"He meant--" Nova started to say but cut herself off. "Actually, never mind what he meant." She finished, shooting Hoseok a glare before sighing.
"It just really depends on what YOU want to do in this situation." Nova said, giving you an apologetic look because she knew that phrase didn't really help much.
"You're at an impasse. Namjoon and Jimin both have feelings for you, and how things play out is dependent on the choices you make." She explained as she leaned her arms on the table. "Do you... maybe like one of them more than the other?" She questioned, despite Hoseok's presence at the table. She trusted him not to say anything.
"Well, I..." You hesitated again, looking to Hoseok who appeared to be ignoring you two as he ate. "I definitely have feelings for Namjoon, but Jimin... I haven't really gotten to know him on a deeper level like I have with Namjoon."
"Do you want to get to know Jimin better?" She questioned with a tilt of her head, and you could see Hoseok slow in his chewing a little as he listened to your answer.
"I don't know." You shrugged, running your hand through your hair in frustration. "I feel like if I don't give him the chance to show me who he really is, he will continue to pressure the situation in attempts to get that chance." But on the other hand, should you even be giving him a chance, especially with what happened between you and Namjoon last night?
You were torn. You were starting to fall for Namjoon, it was pointless to deny that. But every time Jimin was around, it did weird things to your heart. He made you nervous and he knew it. You weren't sure if it was right to say you could be all in with Namjoon if you had unresolved emotions when it came to his best friend.
"Yeah, sounds like Jimin." Hoseok said suddenly after his silence.
You looked toward Hoseok who raised his eyes toward you. "He's the type that likes to prove himself and what he's capable of. If you don't give him the chance to show you what he's able to do for you, he'll assume you're taking him lightly and will only try even harder until he's felt that he's made his point and you have all the information you need to make your decision."
"Well, that's helpful information but not very helpful to my situation." You said with a sigh as you placed your head in your hands.
"Look, neither of them have technically asked you to be theirs, right?" Hoseok asked. You thought back again to last night, and Namjoon telling you that at least for the time being, you were his. But he had never officially asked you and though you weren't usually one to ride on technicalities, you felt like you probably should in this case.
"No." You answered back, uncovering your face.
"Then just let the ship sail for the time being. You're not being forced to make a choice right now. And even if one of them try and get you to make that choice, just tell them you'd prefer to wait until you're sure your mind is made up on who you really want. " Hoseok suggested before shoving another large piece of food into his mouth.
"And if that response just pisses them off?"
"If they're going to get angry over the fact that you need time to think, then they can fuck off." Nova said abruptly. "They need to understand that the situation they've put you in isn't an easy one. I agree with Hoseok's suggestion. Just go with the flow for the time being and let yourself decide with time on what you want to do." Nova said before offering you a smile. "And I've got your back no matter how things play out."
You offered her a weak smile before nodding. All you could really do is try and go along with their suggestion, right? It didn't exactly seem like a bad one, though you did fear that it would back fire. You were worried that they would start to think you were toying with their emotions, but you had to do what you had to do. But another thought hit you and put an even bigger damper on your already fantastic mood.
"We also have to keep in mind that," You looked over at Hoseok before glancing back over to your friend, "we're leaving in a week, Nova."
Hoseok's head shot up and he looked around with a dazed yet surprised expression, staring at you both as if to question what you meant. Had she not told them that you had only planned on staying for two weeks?
"Yeah, we are. But that doesn't mean we can't come back or that we won't ever see them again." She said toward you before looking to Hoseok with a faint smile.
He swallowed his food and grinned back at her before looking at you with a nod.
"Yeah, I guess you're right." You said with a sigh and let the subject fade from the conversation for the time being.
