Do You Remember?

--------
It was a typical Saturday for the members. They usually all split up to do their own favorite activities on their days off after spending so much time together during the week. However there were still times when they found themselves hanging out on the weekends too. Hobi and Taehyung accompanied Namjoon to one of the art exhibitions he really wanted to see. Yoongi left to hang out with some friends who were in the industry, Jin stayed home to play video games, and Jimin and Jungkook were getting ready to head out to an old rock quarry and play around on a four wheeler. The place they were going was a pretty popular spot, you could rent four wheelers and race around the quarry or branch off onto different trails. Jin was hesitant about them going, he was overprotective and thought four wheelers were too dangerous, but he knew he couldn't really control his members and tell them they couldn't go. All he could do was continuously remind them to be safe.

"You two have helmets right?" Jin asked as he was looking for something to drink in the fridge. Jimin and Jungkook were both finishing up their lunch at the table.

"I think they have helmets you can rent there," Jimin told his hyung.

"You think they have helmets? What if they don't? I don't want you riding around on a four wheeler without helmets."

"Then we'll... go buy some?" Jungkook asked, wondering if that was the answer Jin was looking for.

"Okay, good."

Jungkook smiled, that must've been the answer his hyung was looking for. Once the two finished their lunch they got ready to go and headed for the car.

"Be safe, don't drive it around too quickly, and remember helmets!" Jin yelled as the two disappeared out the door.

When Jimin and Jungkook got to the rock quarry they were excited to see that the place did in fact offer helmet rentals so they didn't have to go out and buy their own. Some people had cut in line for renting them, but both of them were too shy to really say anything. When it got to them, Jungkook's helmet was a little bit too big for him but it was the smallest size they had left. He couldn't switch with Jimin because Jimin's would have been too small.

"This should be okay right?" Jungkook asked Jimin after getting his helmet on. Jimin stepped forward and grabbed the strap of it and fixed it, his maknae hadn't buckled it correctly. He was able to pull the strap tighter after fixing it so it at least fit his maknae a little better.

"Yeah, it's good. Let's go!" Jimin ran towards the four wheelers and picked the biggest one, and they both hopped on. Jungkook and Jimin took turns driving it around the quarry and through the trails. There was this one group of friends there who were being a little too obnoxious driving theirs around. They were going way too fast and almost crashed into a ton of people. Some people had even gotten off their vehicles to go complain to the workers, but the workers told them there wasn't really anything they could do. It was Jimin's turn to drive and he decided to take more trails instead of staying in the quarry, they seemed safer with less people. At least he thought it was safer. He was going around a corner when one of the people from earlier who was driving obnoxiously sped around the corner coming right towards them. The trails were one way trails, the people shouldn't have been coming from that direction.

Jimin and Jungkook both screamed as the person was clearly about to crash into them. Jimin tried to break and swerve out of the way, causing their four wheeler to flip over onto its side. They both flew off of it, and Jungkook's helmet somehow managed to fly off too. The other person driving didn't show any plan of stopping. They crashed into the now sideways four wheeler and it smacked Jungkook in the head. The person backed up and sped away without even giving them a single glance. Jimin wasn't badly hurt, he'd only scraped his elbow a little bit, but panic shot through him when he looked over and saw Jungkook laying there completely still, with his eyes open, and his helmet 10 feet away. He frantically crawled over to him, "Jungkook! Oh my God, are you okay??! Are you okay?!" Jimin shook Jungkook and finally the younger looked at him, "Ow, what happened?"

Jimin froze, "What do you mean what happened? Someone just fuckin hit us and left!" He was completely furious. How could someone do a hit and run? How could someone crash into them, see they were hurt, and speed away? Jimin started looking over Jungkook to see if he had any broken bones or other injuries, but he insisted he was fine, except his head hurt.

"Is your head okay?" Jimin asked, he was crying at this point. He was really shaken up and didn't quite understand how Jungkook was so calm.

" I don't know," Jungkook looked around, "Where are we?"

Jimin stared at him, "What do you mean? Junkook-ah we're at the quarry..." He was getting concerned, why wasn't Jungkook remembering anything? Jimin started looking at Jungkook's head and the side of it was bleeding. "We have to get you home," Jimin helped Jungkook up and tried to flip the four-wheeler back up but it was way too heavy. Thankfully someone else had driven up and stopped when they saw them, asking if they were alright and offered them a ride back. Jimin told the guy that they were hit and when they got back to the front he had to fill out a report. The person who had hit them must have left, because nobody could find them. Jimin took Jungkook's hand and guided him back to the car. The younger seemed out of it, like he didn't really know what was going on, and it was clear he actually didn't know where he was.

Once they got back home, Jimin had to guide Jungkook back into the house.

"How was it?" Jin asked, but went silent when he saw them. Jimin had a torn sleeve and cut on his elbow, and Jungkook still had blood in his hair.

"Oh, no.." Jin gulped, "What the hell happened?!" Jin ran to both of them to look them over. He started to panic and ran and got the first aide kit, helping clean them both up.

"Someone crashed into us and left," Jimin told his hyung as he sat there getting cleaned up, "And ..uh..hyung...Jungkookie doesn't remember anything. He got hit in the head." They both looked at Jungkook who stared at them silently.

"Where the hell was your helmet?!" Jin yelled at Jungkook, the younger started to tear up, "I don't know."

"He had one hyung! But when we crashed it flew off and then he got hit in the head!" Jimin yelled. Jin took Jungkook's hand, "What don't you remember?" Jin asked.

"Huh?" The maknae replied.

"What is it that you can't seem to remember?" Jin asked again.

Jungkook tensed up, " Uh.. I don't know. Everything. I don't remember crashing, or um...going to the rock place..I also..I .." he started getting choked up, " I don't remember either of you."

"Wait, what?" Jimin was caught off guard by that. Jungkook hadn't mentioned not remembering more than just the crash.

"I'm sorry..." Tears started falling from Jungkook's eyes and Jin wrapped him in a hug, "Don't be sorry. It's okay. Hyungs will help you remember."

"What do we do? I don't think our manager or ARMY's should know about this but if we take him to the hospital they'll announce it to everyone," Jimin was panicking.

"We will ask Namjoon when he gets home," Jin suggested.

"Who?" Jungkook asked. Jimin and Jin both sighed. This was going to be a tough one. They were all sitting on the couch when the rest of the members burst through the front door laughing, they seemed to have all gotten home at the same time. Taehyung started laughing and yelling about some guy they saw at the museum. Jungkook tensed up on the couch, he didn't remember any of them.

"How was four wheeling?" Yoongi walked over to them.

"We have a problem," Jimin replied. All the members looked at him and were quiet now, "What do you mean?" Namjoon asked.

"They got in an accident and Jungkook can't remember anything," Jin told them. The members became frantic asking how and why they crashed, how badly Jungkook hurt his head, they started asking Jungkook questions to try and jog his memory but nothing was working. Jin told them his concern about their manager and ARMY's finding out what happened and they concluded that if Jungkook didn't have his memory back by the end of the week they'd take him to the hospital. They just had to help him get his memory back before then somehow.

Taehyung pulled up pictures and videos on his phone and played them for Jungkook but that didn't seem to help.

"Well showing him once won't do anything, I think we have to continuously show him stuff like all day," Hobi suggested. He turned on the TV and found a youtube playlist that had all their music videos play back to back for hours. Yoongi complained about it but Jimin told him to be quiet, "It's to help Jungkookie." Jungkook couldn't really say or do much except look around at them confused. He clearly knew these people, and it was obvious he was in a band with them and lived with them, that much he had figured out. He just couldn't seem to remember them. It was frustrating, he kept asking why he wasn't going to the hospital and Jin kept explaining that he couldn't yet, they were waiting to see if his memory would come back.

"One problem is we have an interview tomorrow. What are we supposed to do if they ask Jungkook questions?" Hobi asked.

"He could just come up with something. Or we could ask beforehand to make sure he's not asked questions," Namjoon replied.

"I vote for the latter. Let's ask the interviewer to not ask him questions," Jin agreed.

"Why can't I be asked questions?" Jungkook asked.

"Well, for example, Jungkook....what did you eat for dinner last night?" Jimin asked.

" I don't know."

"Do you see why you can't be asked questions now?"

"Yes," Jungkook pouted.

Hobi ran into his room and came out with a stuffed animal Jungkook had gotten him a few months ago and told his maknae the story of where they were and how he'd bought it for him, unfortunately the youngest still couldn't remember.

" I have an idea, let's go to work," Taehyung suggested.

"That's the worst plan you may have ever had. And it's our day off, they'd wonder why we're there," Yoongi scoffed.

"We could say we forgot something. Maybe giving Jungkook a tour of the building will help him remember us," Taehyung insisted. After a little more persuading, they figured they were desperate and would try anything. They drove to work and guided Jungkook around, showing him their conference rooms, their dance studio, they showed Jungkook his own studio and all his favorite things in it. His most favorite thing being his iron man figure he kept on his desk.

" I love iron man," he replied. The members smiled, that was a start. Their manager saw them in the hallway and asked what they were up to being at work today. They all tried to hide Jungkook behind them, "We just forgot a few things," Namjoon lied. Their manager didn't question it, he continued on his way. After showing him the building they got back in the car and drove Jungkook around to all of his favorite spots, showing him pictures he'd taken at all of them. He said he doesn't quite remember, but he could see why they'd be his favorite spots. By the end of the day everyone was exhausted. Nothing today had really worked, so they all promised to try again tomorrow, they just had to survive tomorrow's interview.

After getting their hair and makeup done Namjoon walked over to Jungkook, " I told the interviewer you weren't feeling good and to not direct questions towards you. Just try to lay low for this one okay?"

"Okay Namjoon," Jungkook replied. Namjoon was startled by the response, Jungkook never called him Namjoon, "Just call me hyung."

"Okay, hyung."

They took their seats and began their interview. The members made sure to not direct any of their answers towards Jungkook either. The maknae sat in his own world the entire time.

The interview had been live and afterwards their manager came over and said there were a lot of ARMY concerned about why Jungkook was so quiet and why the interviewer didn't pay attention to him. Namjoon told their manager the kid wasn't feeling good and they requested that he be left alone.

"Talk to me about that next time," their manager asked.

"Okay, sorry," Namjoon bowed. Their manager told Jungkook he hopes he feels better and asked if there was anything he could do to help but Jungkook told him he was fine and didn't need anything. They quickly rushed home after that and tried to think of what else they could do to help their youngest.

Jungkook had retreated to his room and Yoongi could overhear him crying, he went in, "What's wrong?"

"What if I never remember anything?" Jungkook cried. Yoongi went over and hugged him, "You will. Hyungs will make sure you will even if it's the last thing we ever do. Come with me I have an idea," he took Jungkook's hand and led him to the living room.

"Let's teach him choreography," Yoongi suggested, "Our choreography is in his muscle memory. Maybe doing it will help him remember other things." They began teaching him Idol and DOPE. When they got to Mic Drop, they were ecstatic when Jungkook remembered half the dance. He kept claiming he wasn't sure "if he was doing it right," but to their surprise he was. He had even corrected Jimin at one point.

"I think this is working!" Taehyung yelled excitedly. They continued to teach him more songs and by the end he basically knew all the choreography. In the middle of dancing Namjoon tripped and stumbled backwards, accidentally smacking Jungkook in the face.

"Hyung, smacking him isn't going to help him!" Taehyung yelled.

"I feel like this happens a lot when we practice this song," Jungkook told everyone. They were surprised, because he was right. Namjoon did fall a lot during that choreography and accidentally smacked Jungkook almost every time. This made everyone laugh. They knew Jungkook's memory wasn't completely back, but what they were doing was helping. They still promised to bring him to the hospital in a few days if he hadn't regained it all. Their biggest thing was they needed him to remember the crash and hitting his head.

Jin and Yoongi made Jungkook's favorite foods for dinner and made sure to talk about as many memories as possible. Jungkook was sad and frustrated that he couldn't remember, but he still laughed at a lot of the memories they shared. He knew they at least always had a great time together. Jungkook had been shy at first after the accident considering he didn't remember them, but he had opened up a bit more and wasn't so afraid to ask questions about things and say what was on his mind.

"Jungkook-ah you need to get your memory back so you can cook me pork belly. I like the way you cook it the most," Taehyung turned to him.

"I remember how to cook!" Jungkook shot back.

"So can you make me pork belly tomorrow?"

"No."

"Please?"

"No."

Jungkook crossed his arms. The two started laughing, and then their hyungs laughed too. Some things would never change no matter what happened to them. They cleaned up after dinner and Taehyung gestured for Jungkook to cuddle, they cuddled often and Taehyung figured it was one more thing that might bring Jungkook's memory back. His maknae quickly fell asleep and Taehyung found himself googling home remedies for a concussion, specifically with memory loss. He got the same answer on every website he looked at which was basically that the person needed a lot of rest and to stay hydrated. Taehyung figured that should be easy enough.

The members concern was growing as the days went by and Jungkook still couldn't remember crashing. If he didn't remember by tomorrow they were due to bring him to the hospital and at this point they were all scared that if the news got out their manager and ARMY's would be pissed.

"I have an idea, but you guys might not like it," Hobi got everyone's attention.

"What if we bring him back to where they crashed?" Hobi looked at Jimin and Jungkook, "Maybe actually going back and riding down the path again will make him remember." Everyone hesitated before Jin spoke up, "I don't know. That sounds dangerous. What if they crash a second time?"

"Well it's not like it was our fault, someone else hit us," Jimin thought maybe it would be a good idea but he was still nervous about it.

"What if they get hit again and get hurt worse?" Taehyung pouted. He didn't think it was worth the risk.

"Well I'll make sure he has a better helmet this time," Jimin replied. The members eventually agreed, although Jungkook wasn't as on board. He was scared and kept telling them he thinks it's a bad idea. The fear of crashing was scary, but his hyungs weren't the only ones who wanted his memory back before tomorrow.

"How about this, we all go , and we can all go down the trail. You and Jimin stay behind us all so that if someone drives the wrong way around the corner they hit us and not you two," Namjoon waited for Jungkook to answer him and eventually got a nod in agreement.

When they got to the rock quarry, Jungkook was extremely hesitant to get back on a four wheeler. He didn't remember crashing but he definitely knew his fear had grown very real.

"You'll be okay," Jin took Jungkook's hand, "Remember if anyone is going to crash this time it'll be us not you guys." Jungkook didn't like the sound of that any better but he had already agreed to it. Jin made sure Jungkook got the correct helmet and tightened it almost too tightly. That one definitely wasn't flying off.

They began driving around the quarry for fun for a few minutes and then Jimin pointed to what trail to head down. The rest of the members took the lead and made their way. They drove down the same trail a few times and Jimin remembered where and how they had crashed, but he didn't point it out to Jungkook. He wanted Jungkook to remember on his own. They were on their 6th time going down the trail when Jungkook started screaming.

"STOP! STOP!" Jimin slammed on the breaks and gestured for everyone else to stop too.

"What's wrong?" Jin yelled.

"Here! I remember it was right here! Someone came around the corner and hit us and my helmet flew off and then the four wheeler hit me!" Jungkook started pointing to the ground.

"Was it here? Is he right? "Hobi asked with excitement.

"Yes," Jimin told him.

"I remember! Jimin-ssi scraped his arm too!" Jungkook started jumping up and down, "Hyungs I remember!"

"What else do you remember?" Taehyung asked.

"What do you mean? I remember everything now!" Jungkook yelled. The members started cheering. Finally he remembered. They all got off their four wheelers and hugged him, extremely thankful that his memory came back just when they needed it to. They headed back down to the entrance and Jin asked some of the workers about the accident report. They said there was a warrant out for the people who crashed into them but they haven't found them yet.

"Aish," Jimin replied to the worker.

"We should get dinner to celebrate!" Yoongi replied, "And alcohol!" Yoongi needed an adult beverage to make up for the very stressful week. They went to Jungkook's favorite restaurant and they made him watch the interview they did, the maknae cringed at how awkward he looked during the whole thing but he was able to laugh about it.

"Jungkook-ah," Jimin turned and put his hand on Jungkook's knee, "Do you remember Taehyung farting on your pillow last night?" Everyone tried to hide their laughter as Jungkook turned towards Taehyung and gave him a disgusted look.

"I didn't!" Taehyung protested, leaning over and pushing Jimin.

The night continued with a lot of laughs,

and a lot of memories.
