Chapter 19
It was time for finals at school. Ash wasn't worried, but he wanted people to think he was worried. It was complicated to be honest.
He walked the hallways of school, he was smiling with his hands behind his head.
A certain honey blonde girl was waiting for him at the end of the hallway. They had the same history class and they were going to be late.
"Hurry up!" She called from the other side.
"I am!" Ash called back not picking up the speed whatsoever, maybe even slowing down a bit.
Serena was not amused, she stormed to where Ash was, grabbed his arm and dragged him to class.
The finals was easy enough, who cares about history anyways? Except of course for those who actually do care about history.
Math was next, very simple, followed by English, Science, and last but not least, home economics.
This one was different as Ash doesn't really cook with a recipe. He actually sucks cooking with a recipe. He usually just cooks with whatever food they have.
They had to make enchiladas for their final along with chips and guacamole for a side.
Ash was able to scrape by, but only barely, he wasn't the chef kind.
He grinned as he received a passing grade.
He glanced over at Serena, who's dish looked perfect.
He shook his head, how?
They finished school and decided to stick around, this being their last week of high school.
They had a bit of conversation.
"Where are you planning on going?" Ash asked.
"I want to go somewhere where I can work on my fashion and dance." She answered. "How about you?"
"I don't really know, a part of me wants to do one thing, and then another part wants me to do something else." Ash replied.
"Well what do you like the most?" Serena questioned.
"I guess I really like helping people a lot. I mean, no matter what danger I put myself through, it's worth it if it means that I help someone else out."
Serena's eyes widened in surprise. "Really?"
"Yeah, but I also really want to become a teacher." Ash said.
"If you think about it Ash, if you become a teacher you are helping people out." Serena answered.
"That's true, but I'm having a tough time deciding which college I want to go to." Ash admitted. "Where are you going Serena?"
"Probably I'm going to stay here in Japan."
Ash nodded. "I see, do you have any specific college in mind?"
"Well I did get a scholarship to this one college." Serena replied.
"That's great!" Ash said enthusiastically. "I'm sure you'll do your best Serena!" He grinned causing her to blush.
It may not have been very apparent but Serena actually had caught feelings for the raven-haired boy. Little did she know that the feeling was mutual.
"T-thanks," the honey-blonde girl stuttered. They kept walking and made it to their destination, the S-Class room.
As soon as they got there, everyone started listing off the places they were going and what majors they wanted to explore.
Misty wanted to go into marine Biology, Dawn wanted to become a Nurse, May was determined to be an author, Lillie wanted to be a veterinarian, Lana wanted to be a fisherman, and Mallow wanted to become a chef.
It was a little tough to get through as they were all going their separate ways.
However they promised to keep in touch with each other, and after a few tears, they realized that this wasn't even their real goodbye yet.
They all shook their heads, it had been one wild ride, starting with Freshmen year, all the way to Senior year.
It was time to start getting ready for graduation. They hurried off to put on their caps and gowns.
They sat through a 2 hour long graduation and received their awards.
Following this, everyone got together for their graduation photos.
Many kids started tearing up as they may never see each other again.
However the S-Class students were determined to not allow that to become true. They promised to keep in touch with each other about their everyday lives, no matter how busy they may be.
Finally it was time for their last dance as seniors.
Slow music played, and many of the couples went on to the dance floor. All of the S-Class students were staring at Serena and Ash.
Mallow gave a nod to Ash urging him to make his move.
He nodded back.
"Serena, do you wanna dance?" He smiled causing her to blush.
Serena beamed, "I would like that."
They danced for a while, and the rest of the S-Class watched in amusement.
"Do you think they're gonna kiss?" Mallow asked.
"No, no, I think Ash is just gonna ask her out." Dawn replied.
"Your both wrong, Ash is too chicken to do that." May stated.
"I bet it's gonna be Serena that makes a move." Misty smiled.
The rest of the girls nodded.
After a while, Ash took a deep breath. This was it. Everything had been building up to this very moment.
"Serena Yvonne,"
"Yes, yes, yes, I told you!" Dawn said excitedly.
"-you have nice hair."
The S-Class sweat dropped.
"Ash you are an idiot, and IDIOT!" Mallow tried to yell, but Lana held her back.
"Sh, Mallow it doesn't look like he's done yet..." Lillie added.
"A-and, um," Ash stumbled while blushing. "W-w-would you like to go out with me?"
Serena's face turned red, but she smiled, which was a good sign. "Yes, Ash, yes I would like to go out with you!"
They smiled at each other.
The S-Class cheered with excitement. The two of them turned and looked at their group of friends. They casually went back to whatever they were doing.
It had been a good night.
Hey guys, the next chapter unfortunately is going to be the last one guys. I had a lot of fun with this book and I just didn't have any new material for this book anymore. I apologize to you all, but thanks for the support.
I really considered if I wanted to add Miette or Calem to the book, and I just thought things would get too confusing so I scratched them out completely.
Anyways I'll probably have the finale up either today or tomorrow.
But thanks guys, it has been a fun ride...
