The forest looks dense, more so than last time, Ava was blindly running for her dear life. Running in an endless maze from a faceless monster trying to get to her.

The reason very much unknown to her.

Terrified and utterly tired from what seems to be an endless race, she stumbles on a rock and falls twisting her ankle in the process.

Taking in big gulps of air, she tries to stand and continue running but that seems impossible at the very beginning cause she had obtained a broken ankle after falling.

Feeling hopeless and defeated, she lays on the floor and awaits her fate.
Soon she heard paws pounding the earth and they made their way towards her. She catches a glimpse of its eyes, a burning flame of gold. Its slobbering mouth and viscous fangs.

And from the look of the danger dancing its orbs, you could tell that it wasn't going to end well for her.

This is gonna hurt...She thought.

Now she closes her eyes and waits for the inevitable.

Pressure on her neck got her letting out a spine-chilling scream that had managed to scare the birds perched on high branches of majestic redwood giants that filled the forest, flew to safety while the likes of deer and mousse ran for their life, as the beast's fangs pierces into her skin drawing blood.

Oh no!

Awoken from her dream - hold up let me rephrase that - nightmare, she felt beads of sweat running down her face and back. She looks pale, her hair is slick and sticking to her face due her sweating profusely.
She quickly faces the open window and sees its already sunrise. She clearly remembers closing the window last night before heading to bed due to the freezing temperature outside. It was just the start of Autumn, the air which has by now freely invited itself inside while it reduced the room's heat to  a couple of degrees lower.

Who'd left her window open while she slept?!

Unless...unless that was impossible.
It couldn't be...could that monster have invaded her house.

Nope. That was utterly and ridiculous to even think about. Right...

She's sure she'd experienced a heart attack at a young age. And she's just 24! If this goes on for long she might have to visit a psychiatrist which she didn't want to do so as not to worry her family.

After closing the window, and drawing in the curtains trying to shield her body from the cold. Kylie lies back on her bed, rests her upper body on the headboard while troubling thoughts invaded her mind space. Shit! This was the third time this month she'd had this type of dream. What could it all  possibly mean? Will they ever come to an end?
Feeling exhausted and slightly dehydrated she closes her eyes and counts to five, 1-2-3-4-5 while breathing deeply. She had to keep her mind in check before she loses it totally. There are  already other problems poking her in her life, she clearly didn't want yet another frustrating her. She felt strangled and tears brimming in her eyes dared to spill over.

That was horrifying.

Anyways, she doesn't have time to ponder more on that right now, she has to go to work soon. She owns a coffee shop across the street in the busy city of San Francisco, California and because business has been booming in the last couple of weeks, she has to go there early to help her employee set up everything before opening hours.

Can't I get a break?

Her parents live in the other side of town and its takes an hour and half to get there. Jasper, her older brother was in New York at the moment working at his new job as an intern in an upcoming tech company.
Her family was her greatest joy and gave her strength whenever she was feeling low. They were always there for her and they hold a precious place in her heart. They were her good luck charm. She was gonna hold unto what she had.

Unbeknownst to her, she was going to need all the luck she had. Really because there was a storm coming, waiting to sweep her off her feet and knock the air out her lungs leaving both her breathless and enchanted.
Quite literally.
What or who could that be...

Getting of the bed, she affirms that today is going to be a good day. Maybe if she smiles long enough her problems will be no more. Maybe...
