Part 3

Everyone was in the breakfast hall. Naina and Swati also took their usual seats at the table. But Naina's eyes were glued to the door and she kept craning her neck to find someone as if by doing so she could see beyond the range of her eyes.

After a few minutes...

Naina: Swati, 10 min mein bus nikalnewali hai aur kuch log abhi naashta karne bhi nahi aaye. Fir khane ka time nahi mielga na unhe.
Swati could sense the worry in Naina's voice and saw that she was hardly eating. So, she started teasing Naina.

Swati: Naina, tu toh kha le. Tera Prem kahi hawa ki tarah lehra raha hoga...kahi koi jugaad lagane mein busy hoga (though unknowingly she had predicted exactly what SMP were doing, will describe this in the next parts). Naina felt disappointed that she could not have breakfast with him and tried to concentrate on her food.

At the same time, she felt the breeze and her heart fluttered indicating his presence. She always felt him, and a tiny smile formed on her face. She did not need to look up to know that the ruler of her heart had made a grand entry. His eyes were also searching for her and instantly met hers at the exact moment she looked up. A few seconds later, his trance was broken as Munna howlered from the food counter.

Munna: Kya, sirf aakhri do aloo ke paratha bache hai. Arre cook bhai hum toh teen hai, kum-se-kum ek aur toh chahiye na. Waise bhi aloo ke paratha hamare Sameer ke favrite hai (M's style of English as we know he is weak).
Hearing this, Naina came to the counter as if to keep the plate indicating to Swati that she finished eating. She purposely came and stood next to Sameer and started talking to Swati.

Naina: Swati, maine toh bahut kha liya, parathe sach mein ache the, par ab dou extra le liye the so bach gaye. Par inhe jhootha nahi kiya hai toh agar kisiko kum pade ho toh le sakta hai. She said the last sentence while looking at Sameer from the corner of her eye wishing that he would eat the food.
Sameer clearly understood what she meant. He noticed that the food was completely untouched and she was waiting for him and when she realized that there was nothing left for him to eat, she had again willingly sacrificed her food and hunger for him. But this time she wanted to make sure that he would eat, unlike the other night when she brought her leftovers for him as he was short of food. But he didn't eat as he didn't think himself worthy of her sacrifice, while she thought that he had a problem eating from someone's plate.

A few minutes later everyone was getting ready to pile on in the bus, Sameer gestured Naina to stay back. He lazily sauntered towards her and produced a rolled paper. She looked at it confused and then at him with a questioning expression. He unrolled the paper and produced the 2 parathas.

Sameer: Tumhe kya laga Naina, ki tum mere liye apna khana chod dogi aur main maze se kha loonga. Dosti mein sab kuch share kiya jaata hai...aadha aadha. With this he extended 1 paratha towards her and only when she bit into it, he could eat too. Naina was so overwhelmed with his gesture and was doubly sure that Sameer ka pyaar was indeed shaadiwala pyaar. He genuinely cared for her the way she did for him. At that time Swati hollered her and she smiled at Sameer and walked in Swati's direction.

Sameer's eyes were following her and his inner thoughts: "Main jaanta hoon Naina, tumhe meri har choti se choti baat ka khayal rehta hai. Tumhe laga uss raat mujhe tumhara jhootha khane mein problem thi, isiliya aaj tumne mere liya anchuye hi khana chod diya par aisa nahi hai, main buss khudko tumhare itne gehre pyar ke layak nahi samajh raha tha. Par ab samaj aaya hai tumahare shaadiwale pyaar ka matlab" (he had heard Swati lecturing Naina on the shaadiwala pyaar in the market and testing the same, which initiated him to win the guglupuchu for her). "Aaj ke baad hum sab kuch baatenge Naina. Buss ek baar tumhe apne dil ki baat bata doon....bahut jald".

Munna: Arre tu yahan khada kya kar raha? Chal bus nikal jaayegi. Pandit ne Naina ke bus mein jagah gher ke rakhi hai. Sameer smirked and all 3 got in the same bus as Naina, Swati, and Tibrewal.

On the 1 hr bus ride, Shanti teacher was distributing pamphlets, assigning duties, and forming groups.

Shanti teacher: Bachchon, hum teen-teen ke group banayenge. Kyonki ladkiyan kum hai aur ladke jyaada, har group mein dou ladke aur ek ladki hogi. Naina, tum Munna aur Tibrewal ke group mein, Kamya tum Pandit aur Sameer ke saath, Hema, Himmat aur Pankaj ke saath aur Swati tum Mukund aur Paresh ke saath.

Naina, Sameer, and Munna were depressed as they could not be with whom they loved, while Kamya was overjoyed that she was in Sameer's group. While Tibrewal would have been elated few months ago that he was paired with Naina, now she was his rakhi sister, so he couldn't do much about it.

As soon as everyone disembarked the bus, Kamya jumped onto Sameer and grabbed his hand: Sameer, kitna mazaa aayega na...hum ek hi group mein hai.

Pandit: Flirtatiously, haan mazaa toh bahut aayega!

Meanwhile, Naina also got off the bus and saw Kamya hanging on to Sameer, while his eyes searched only for her. He immediately recognized the flaring Naina who could not tolerate any girl loitering around him. He loved this possessive side of Naina and though never mentioned in so many words, he knew she already acted as if he belonged only to her. Inwardly, he was more than happy that someone cared so much for him, and wanted him to be hers and hers only, but being The Sameer Maheshwari he was, thought to have some fun. Without breaking eye contact with Naina, he said " haan haan Kamya, bahut mazaa karenge, par tum na jyaada dhul mitti mein yahan wahan mat ghumna aur dhoop se bachkar rehna, warna tumhari khoobsurti maili ho jaayegi aur gora rang kaala pad jaayega. Saara kaam Pandit aur main kar lenge. Tum kahi chaanv dekhkar aaram se baith jao". Kamya jumped and clapped her hands in elation that Sameer thought she was beautiful and she went to find some shade.

Sameer saw Naina fuming, turn around, and say to Tibrewal: Sanjay chale, Shanti ma'm ne hume sabse important duties di hai, sabko toothbrush aur daily bath ke baarein mein samjhana hai, wo bhi Hindi mein. Yahan toh sabko theek se Hindi bhi nahi aati, buss aa jaate hai ghumne! She threw daggers at Sameer and walked off with Tibrewal. Munna didn't know what to do, so he just followed Naina.

Pandit was confused as to what had transpired just now and said to Sameer: Yaar, tu kya kar raha hai? Ek taraf toh kehta hai ki tu Naina se pyar karta hai, use apne pyar ka izahar style se karega aur yahan tu kamya ke saath flirt kar raha hai... Naina bhi tujhse gussa hokar chali gayi!

Sameer smirked: Main sirf Naina se pyar karta hoon, ab agar saara waqt Kamya mere saath rahegi toh Sameer Sameer karke pareshan karegi aur main apni Naina ko kaise dekhunga. Issliye Kamya ko bahane se bhaga diya, aur rahi Naina ki baat, wo gussa issliye hai kyonki wi apna haq samajhti hai mujhpar aur jo sahi bhi hai....Suddenly he got very serious and said... mujhe Kamya ya kisi aur ki nahi padi, ab main sirf apni Naina ka hoon aur meri Naina ko haq hai mujhse pyaar karne ka, mujhpar gussa karne ka, aur mujhe pyar se daantne ka.

Pandit patted Sameer's back: Wah yaar! tu toh abhi se pyar ke samandar mein gote laga raha hai... apni Naina, meri Naina.... Sahi ja raha hai, lekin pehle uss jyoti bani jwala ko mana toh le, warna kahi bhaiyaa bane Tibrewal ke mann mein fir se saiyyan banne ke khwab jaag gaye toh bhool mat, Naina ki zindagi ka pehla love letter uss Tibrewal ne hi likha tha.
Sameer gave an angry expression and though he knew Naina loved only him, he had to pacify her soon lest anyone take advantage of her irritated mood.
