Chapter 25
Angie's POV
I held my head down not daring to look at Phillip as we walked to the restaurant in the hotel. Nathaniel walked behind me. I could almost feel the pain in us both.
"Alex, can I speak to Angelica for a moment?" I heard Uncle Laffy ask. My head perked up a bit at the mention of my name.
"Absolutely. We're gonna go get a table, just find us when you're done." He nodded at my dad's statement.
Once everyone walked away, Uncle Laffy hugged me. "Mon chérie, what is wrong?" His brown eyes met my green ones.
"I-I can't tell you, Uncle Laffy." I softly spoke in a whisper.
"It is about Nathaniel, non?" I nodded, the familiar feeling of tears forming in my eyes. His face softened and he kissed my head.
"Angelica, listen to me. Do not be afraid to love him. I've zeen 'ow 'e looks at you. 'E loves you a lot." Uncle Laffy smiled and I nodded. "Now let's go find the others."
I walked under his arm as if I was his own daughter. My eyes burned from trying not to cry, a lump formed in my throat. My muscles tensed up and Uncle Laffy rubbed my back.
"Calm down, chérie." I nodded not wanting to risk a sob falling out my mouth.
We were able to find our family quickly. I took a seat next to Nathaniel and Uncle Laffy. The minute I sat down, Nathaniel’s hand snaked into mine.
"Are you alright?" He asked as he squeezed my hand.
"I'm fine." I whispered to him with a smile. I returned a squeeze, making him smile.
The dinner was going fine until Phillip and Nathaniel got into an argument.
"God Phillip, why do you do this?!" Nathaniel screamed at Pip. "You don't control me!"
"AT LEAST I DON'T GO AROUND FLIRTING WITH PEOPLES YOUNGER SISTER AND FUCKING THEM FOR ONE TIME!" The whole table grew silent. My mouth fell open, he had just let out my biggest secret. Dad's fork clattered against the plate and he nearly choked on his food.
"Phillip, watch what you're saying." Nathaniel spit out through gritted teeth.
"Phillip Hamilton, you tell us what you're talking about right this second." Father said sternly. Phillip looked at me and I shook my head as to say 'don't tell them.'
"Nathaniel found himself inside Angie's pants earlier today." He said. "I can give you full details if you'd like."
Dad grew angry and he stood up. He dropped a hundred dollar bill on the table. "Our room. Now. Everyone!" He yelled.
We all scrambled to the room. I stopped to kiss Nathaniel quickly. He held my hands and kissed my left ring finger.
"I want you to know, that no matter what happens in that room, I love you and one day there will be a ring on this finger, I promise. Je t'aime." I nodded and smashed my lips into his. When we pulled away, we walked into the room. I entered before him.
Everyone was seated and there were two spots open. "Sit, Angelica." Dad said. I felt a lump form in my throat as I sat down. Nathaniel sat right beside me. "Phillip, please tell the rest."
I looked down as Phillip began to speak.
"I'll tell the whole thing. I was coming back from the gym because I left my water bottle in the room. I remember it was silent when I entered so I walked into the bedroom to see why it was so silent. When I entered, Angie was lying on the bed, top and bra missing, Nathaniel hovered over her."
My eyes began to water as Phillip told the rest. "He had his hand in her shorts, if I assume correctly, his fingers were inside of her. Her breasts were in his mouth and Angie's hand was in his hair. Once they heard me, that's when they stopped." He nodded to say he was done.
"Angelica. Is this true?" I nodded and started to cry. "Goddammit! I shouldn't have trusted you two alone!" Dad shrieked. "Did anything else happen between you two?"
Great. Now I have to lie.
"No sir. I promise nothing else happened." Nathaniel spoke before me and pulled the words right out of my mouth. "It was just a heat of the moment thing."
"Alex, don't you think 'e's telling zhe truth? Nathaniel would not be one to lie I assure you." Uncle Laffy tried to calm the situation.
"You're right, Laf," Dad sighed. "Nathaniel’s a good kid. But why?"
"I guess I just had a desire for her." He shrugged. Everytime he lied, my heart felt a ping of pain. "How could I stop myself from wanting such a beautiful girl?" Now I blushed.
"I don't know what to say. I'm frustrated with you, Angelica." I nodded and bit my lip to stop from crying again. "I'm not punishing you because I'm sure your father and uncle's were like this when they were your age."
Everyone nodded. "I'm sorry, dad."
"Why are you sorry? You did nothing wrong. I understand what happened. As long as it was consented, it's fine."
"Come here, darlin'." Father called me over so I came. He pulled me into his lap and rubbed my back. "We are not mad at either of you, I promise. We do however, want you to talk to us about these things okay? Can you do that?"
I nodded and wiped away my tears. "I'm gonna go lay down." I simply said as I stood up from Father's lap.
As I entered my hotel room, I began to cry. My tears fell the the floor leaving wet spots every once in a while. I threw the door to the bedroom open and flopped on the bed. I cried into my pillow, my sobs gradually becoming louder. I clutched the soft material as my tears wet it.
My breathing became shakey and my chest began to rapidly rise and fall. I grabbed a tissue and wiped away my tears but new ones continued to fall.
My mascara was running, my eyes were puffy, and my nose was red. Suddenly, a burning sensation formed in my throat. I ran to the bathroom and threw up, it burned coming up.
I hung my head over the toilet as I continued to throw up. My tears mixed with the vomit. It was like this for 3 minutes.
I cried more as I touched my stomach. It couldn't be, we used protection. Then again, protection doesn't always work.
The thought of being pregnant made me cry even more. It was probably just my nerves. I hope that's what it is.
"Angelica?" Nathaniel rapped his knuckles on the door. Once he heard me crying, he kneeled at my side. "Angel, what's wrong?"
"Nathaniel, I-I think I might be pregnant." I mumbled into his shoulder. My tears were slowing down now.
"How? We-we were careful!" I nodded.
"It might just be nerves. Let's pray it is. As much as I love you, I can't carry your baby. I'm too young." He sighed and kissed my head.
"I know baby, I know. Breathe. Can you sing to me?" I nodded and took a deep breath.
You were once my one companion,
You were all that mattered.
You were once a friend and father,
Then my world was shattered.
Wishing you were somehow here again
Wishing you were somehow near.
Sometimes it seemed, if I just dreamed.
Somehow you would be here.
Wishing I could hear your voice again.
Knowing that I never would.
Dreaming of you, won't help me to do.
All that you dreamed I could.
Passing bells and sculpted angels,
Cold and monumental.
Seem for you the wrong companions,
You were warm and gentle.
Too many years, fighting back tears.
Why can't the past just die?
Wishing you were somehow hear again.
Knowing we must say goodbye.
Try to forgive, teach me to live.
Give me the strength to try.
No more memories, no more silent tears.
No more gazing across the wasted years.
Help me say, goodbye.
I finished the last note and sighed. Nathaniel smiled softly and kissed my head. "I got you, Angel. You're safe." He rocked me in his lap, my eyes dropped. "Don't fight the sleep." I nodded and yawned before closing my eyes.
Phillip's POV
I listened to my sister cry for a good ten minutes. I called George to distract myself.
"Hey baby." He smiled at me.
"Hi George." His smile turned into a frown at my tone of voice.
"What's wrong? You seem sad." I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.
"I ratted Ange out and she's been crying for about 10 minutes now. I feel really bad George."
"I'm sorry, baby. I wish I was there with you." I smiled.
"I miss you."
"I miss you too, I have to go Phillip. I love you." He blew me a kiss.
"I love you too. Bye babe." I waved bye as I closed the call. Little did I know Nathaniel was in the other room, also calling someone.
Nathaniel's POV
"Come on Adi, pick up." I paced the room waiting for my cousin to answer. Her face finally showed up and I sighed in relief.
"Hey Nathaniel." She smiled as she shoved a handful of popcorn into her mouth.
"I have a problem and I need your help." Her eyes widened and she nodded telling me to go on. "So, there's this girl. We were about have sex but her brother walked in on us. It's messed her up bad, Adi. I've never heard her cry this much at once."
"Well, talk to her. Make her feel safe, make sure she's comfortable. And I guess lock the damn door! Louis and I learned our lesson the hard way. Mom is scarred for life now." Adalicia giggled and so did another voice. "Oh yeah, Nathaniel I'm sure you remember Carlotta." She moved the camera to show her friend who waved and smiled.
"Yes I do, hi Carlotta." Why, why Carlotta? It was a beautiful name, Italian too but it was from Phantom. She doesn't deserve the name. "Anyway thanks for the advice, Adi. I have to go now. Love you!"
"Love you too." She smiled and hung up. I crawled into the other bed and fell asleep with thoughts of Angelica in my head.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So kinda a depressing chapter. I cried writing this and I hated doing this to my poor baby, Angie. My sister had bingo at her school for a fundrasier last night and I won $38! My dad won $125 and my sister won $38 as well so it was a good night. Far too many notes for my taste! I love you if you get the reference. I'm gonna end this author's note here. Au revoir my beautiful turtles.🐢❤
